All three of my children are enrolled at St. Louis Covenant School. This has been not only our school, but our second home for the last decade. Through the years I have seen my children benefit from being in a school that prides itself on being a faith centered learning institution. One can only attest to the experience that they have with a place and the people in it. And so, I can say that the principal of this school, is not an "evil, heartless man" as described by a previous reviewer. I would say that he is kind, compassionate, and straight forward when needed. That said, he is always respectful. From firsthand experience he takes the time to hear parents, students, and teachers alike out on their comments and/or concerns. I have never walked away from an interaction with him feeling dismissed or invalidated. In the last ten years my children have experienced some of the best educators this field has to offer. They have been blessed with teachers that go the extra mile to ensure my children achieve their personal best, and that they grow academically AND spiritually. It is true this school does not have a PTA per se, but it is comprised of countless ministries (made up of parents, teachers, parishioners) that work together to make St. Louis the special "covenant" that it is. Parental involvement is not just encouraged, but quite frankly it is expected. Covenant meetings are held throughout the year to bring our families together and reinforce the bond that having your child at St. Louis Covenant is intended to create. Again, I can only attest to what I have seen myself. My children are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and educated to a high standard. A school is so much more than a building with desks and books. It needs to have respect, heart, good intentions, and dedication to its students. I can say with a grateful heart that St. Louis Covenant School offers these things. read more

Both my daughters, 18 and 16 now, attended St. Louis Covenant School since they were in PK. I can't say enough good things about St. Louis other than the fact that when my youngest graduated, I couldn't bare to leave the school community so I stayed working as a volunteer! To say that they were both very well educated would be an understatement. Education is more than just academics....the values they learned, how they grew spiritually, the friendships made, the memories and fun times they had and most importantly the love, caring and nurture they received are worth way more. Although I was not an actual student at STL, I feel it is my school as well! I also walked down the hallways, socialized in the parking lot, volunteered and helped, came to know most of the students by name, laughed, shared, but most importantly, made a lot of lasting friendships. My family enrolled at STLC 6 years ago and one of my three boys graduated and qualified for honors classes at La Salle based on his preparation. My other two boys (currently an 8th grader and 2nd grader) have had a fantastic experience at St. Louis. Originally we transferred to STLC because of the spirit of covenant it offered our community. The reason I mentioned "my family enrolled" is because my wife and I were welcomed as a part of the covenant and we engaged in the ministries it offered. Today our friendships with the parents at the school are rewarding to our entire family. When Mr Garcia came in as the principal he demonstrated an open and transparent relationship with us in all situations and he is single handedly one of the main reasons why we trust that our family teachings are shared at our children's school. We have recommended the school to our family and friends and our nieces and nephews are also enjoying the covenant our children do. read more

When moving to the Pinecrest area from Broward we needed to place our son and daughter in new schools. Our son who was entering the fifth grade was fortunate enough to gain admission at St. Louis Covenant School. A better selection could not have been made. He received a first rate education which made it easy for him to gain admission at the high school of his choosing. A strong curriculum which emphasized strong math and verbal skills. Extra curricular activities plenty from Drama to all sports were enjoyed. There was a great sense of community which cannot easily be put into words. I have both of my children enrolled in St Louis and I have nothing but great things to say. We started this school 5 years ago and both of my girls look forward to attending school every morning. Since day one we have been welcomed with warm smiles and open hearts. The principal and administrative takes the time to get to know everyone personally giving a sense of belonging. The teachers are attentive and have an open door policy if there are ever any concerns. My girls and myself have made friendships that I am sure will last for a lifetime. Both my sons have attended this school since PK3. Now in 5th grade and 2nd grade, the overall experience has been phenomenal. The group of teachers, administration and parents make this school unique in Miami. As a previous reviewer indicated, there's no PTA. However, there are many Ministries where parent volunteers work tirelessly for the school and kids' benefit. Graduating elementary or middle schoolers are consistently admitted to the best schools in Miami: Belen, Columbus and its Mas program Lourdes and its Bernadette's program, Palmer Trinity, Carrollton, to list a few. We have been a part of Saint Louis Covenant School since 2003. Our children have received an excellent education and are succeeding in high school, by the way our youngest is still there. As parents we have been able to grow in faith individually and as a family. St. Louis is a great choice for a Catholic education. The balance between academics and faith provides a well rounded and positive environment for bringing up children. The Covenant part is the commitment to the school and community and parental involvement is a requirement. Administration is supportive and welcoming to comments and suggestions. Our son is in 4th grade and in his sixth year at St. Louis. He loves the school and h the friends he's made there. Best school. Have 18 children who all graduated from this school. Only 9 school shooters have ever gotten in. Teachers make sure the prison cells are secure before they leave the students locked in. read more
