I initially rented this unit in December 2019 for $292/month. Bottom line: My rent has doubled in less than 4 years for no discernible reason other than greed. It's not as if there has been any improvement to the facility or service. This is simply an unconscionable and usurious money grab. I doubt it's even legal. If so, what's to stop them from doubling the rent next year? FWIW I have been a customer of this Public Storage location since 2003, transferring to a larger unit in 2019. If this is how Public Storage treats a longtime customer, there's no telling what they do to rip off newcomers. I have reached out to the NYS Attorney General and my local House Representative, and submitted a negative review to the Better Business Bureau, which notes that Public Storage is not accredited. From filling out the form online to get a quote to answering all my questions and producing a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for my building to the unloading to finishing the job, everyone I spoke to were very pleasant and very responsive. On moving day, I was stuck in traffic and took me longer to arrive than expected. I called them to let them know and they informed me that the crew start their clock upon arrival at the destination unfortunately and had to pay extra time, but I understood.
