Fortunately for us, a friend who had been stationed at Scott told us to try Cornerstone. We had a list of five churches to try and Cornerstone was the first one we visited. We never even tried any of the other churches. The teaching at Cornerstone is fantastic! We kept saying, "Let's try Cornerstone one more time, then we'll try one of the other churches." But we just kept coming back because we wanted to hear more of Ian's sermons. The youth group is large and active although my kids prefer the Saturday evening youth group because it is smaller and they were able to get to know other teens better than in the larger Sunday morning group. It started out well enough; the messages, music and atmosphere were great, but I didn't meet anyone and no one tried to get to know me either. That didn't bother me at first, after all I hadn't joined any groups or done any volunteering. Eventually, after a year I thought I would like to know SOMEONE at that church so I signed up for a life group. Well, I never got any response from the groups I tried contacting and had to give it up. Fast forward a year and I was seriously dating someone, who enjoyed the services with me enough to push me to try life groups again so I tried the right way and attended the big "life group meet" after church as was instructed during the service. We signed up for 3 different groups and wouldn't you know it. NONE of them emailed or called. We took it upon ourselves and tried emailing, we tried calling, we left messages. Yep, no response. This point I'm feeling done. I gave this church three stars because the sermons are really actually good and I liked the music. The church community/body however, is another matter and honestly, that is arguably the most important part of a church. *Update: we are going back, at the request of my daughter. I don't expect to be accepted into the community, but we should enjoy the sermon..

My life group walked me through some of the toughest years of my life, especially when I lost my father. They also were there to assist me after I gave birth to my children. We lift each other up through prayer and meal trains. I also can not say enough positive about the schools that are located within the church building. My children have been through the preschool as well as the wonderful K-12 First Baptist Academy. They have gained a quality education with great Biblical knowledge. Also, they have excellent extra curricular programs like the spring musical, speech and acting team, track/cross country and robotics (just to name a few). Finally, I can not thank the wonderful leadership team that spearheads our church. The pastors are Biblically strong and believe in God's word as truth. I am thankful for that as well as the other solid Biblical programs that are offered like men/women's Bible studies, Upward, DivorceCare, a mother's program, etc.

As you walk in the door to this church, people greet you and tell you, they are glad you are there. Then, as you move into the church, someone will greet you and tell you about the Church, they will give you a gift bag and answer any questions you may have. I felt very loved at this church. They have many opportunities to fellowship with other church members. They have an all men's group meet on Thursday night at 7 o'clock at the church. They have a coed Bible Study every Wednesday night at 7 o'clock at the church, which is wonderful. I have met so many new people on Wednesday. We were longtime members of the church of the Nazarene, however after several pastoral changes and…read moreeven selling the current building and moving into a smaller structure, the congregation dwindled. We both felt that we had a lot still left to offer, And began to think that we needed to move elsewhere. We were a drift for a couple years and tried out several places before trying Skyline Church in O'Fallon, IL. I consider myself a very grounded Christian, so I am familiar with biblical and non-biblical doctrine. Some of the places we try it out seemed more like self-help centers, rather than helping you to nourish a personal relationship with your savior. Someone we knew once went to skyline so we decided to try there, and I'm so glad we did! It pretty much felt like home right away. The worship is amazing week after week and Pastor Jeff nails his sermons every week! There's no beating you over the head, but there is no sweet talking sin either! The demographic at this church is a nice blend of middle age and older as well as a larger percentage of younger families. Lots of kids and kid activities! If you are looking for a new place to call home, this just might be it!

We got married in this church last year and it's continuing to grow so quickly that they've been building another one 50 feet away. I love it here!
