My grand-daughters are attending St. Andrew Catholic School as new students and I was wondering if the "puffy sleeve" shirts are worn or the non "puffy sleeve" shirts?

Our children have been to other "montessori" preschools that weren't certified, and they were completely different. At IMA the staff are highly trained, knowledgeable, and responsive. The classroom environment is beautiful and quiet, and filled with activities for the kids. Our son has thrived here. He loves his teacher and friends. The IMA parents community is also wonderful, the staff shares parent's contact information so it's easy for us to have play dates with other families. 100% recommend with no reservations (as a parent whose children have been to a combined 8 daycares!). It's such a relief to drop my son off at school knowing he will be safe and well taken care of in an environment where he can grow and thrive.

Our biggest issue was communication. The school moved her between classrooms more than once without discussing it with us first. Our repeated requests to move her back went unanswered, and updates on how she was doing were few and far between. Our daughter was struggling at IMA and it was clear that the school did not have the skills or staff to support her. Their approach was not a good fit for our daughter. If your child may need individualized support or a more communicative partnership with caregivers, I'd encourage you to ask detailed questions before enrolling. We wish we had, and we wish we'd trusted our daughter's unhappiness sooner.

To add clarity the events in this review were experienced by EVERYONE in our group for over a year…read more Many of our fellow parents unenrolled as a result of these events. As class parents we heard the concerns of the remaining parents in our class and voiced our collective concerns, only to be met with retribution from the owner. That being said, If you would like your children to go to a facility where the owner is okay with your child sleeping on a carpet that smells like a casino floor this place is for you. I was debating not writing anything but after spending time at other day cares in the area that take cleanliness and consistency seriously I had to share my experience. We spent over a year at this location with our toddler and during the one year there we experienced a HFM out break that impacted the entire class, yes the entire class was out for weeks. When one child would return even with no others present they somehow would contract the virus, we cited cleanliness concerns that were not addressed. We loved our first teacher unforunately she left after two months, from then on our experience with the leads was a merry go round of turn over during the time there. Every day we wouldn't be sure if our lead would be present, on leave or fired. Turnover is a huge issue here. Once, all of the parents spent a half hour at the gate locked out of the school when we were trying to pick up our children at the end of the day. They could not find their spare key so the children were trapped inside. And lastly after our families were all devastated by the fires, this location opened with a ventilation system that had not been professionally cleaned and carpets that smelled like smoke for weeks. They did not take their role in the recovery process seriously. If leadership, consistency, cleanliness and communication are important to you I would say DDP ranks low on the list of options in pasadena. There are better options down the street.

There are a lot of great enrichment activities available for a fee (karate, yoga, dance, soccer, theatre to name a few) on campus. They have state of the art facilities and great teacher to student ratios. They also have a woman who comes in periodically to teach social emotional learning classes (SEL) and supports students one on one if needed for an extra fee. We were extremely satisfied with our experience here, the only negative for us in the earlier years was the high teacher turnover- which seems to be a problem in a lot of preschool environments. All in all though, Discovery Days fostered a very welcoming and positive environment. Our son is absolutely ready for kindergarten socially and academically.

Even though my child is in the English program, he also takes Chinese and Spanish classes. Friends of mine from other cities and states often see the school activities I share/post and tell me how envious they are that we have access to such an amazing preschool. My child has learned so much here, especially in STEM-related subjects. His life skills, independence, and hands-on abilities have improved tremendously. The school also provides a wide variety of enriching activities, including science fairs, carnivals, puppet shows, bubble shows, and animal petting events where the children can ride ponies and interact with rabbits and other animals. The school also hosts special Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfast events that make families feel very involved and welcomed. Every year, the winter and spring performances are what I look forward to the most. It is truly impressive to see a group of 4-year-olds confidently perform three English songs, one Chinese song, one Spanish song, and even a dance routine on stage. The children always look so confident and joyful. This year, my child will be graduating, and I am incredibly grateful to Ms. Joanna and Ms. Regina. They are warm, energetic, patient, and genuinely caring teachers. The classroom environment they create is loving and harmonious, and the children are kind and supportive toward one another. We will always appreciate the wonderful experience our child had here.

I was hesitant--especially because of the cost--but decided to attend a community open house to learn more. That's where I first met Miss Emmy. Her warmth and genuine kindness immediately stood out. We had toured another school, but nothing compared to the warmth, openness, and sense of community we felt at HRNS. Meeting the teachers and seeing how the children were supported made it clear our daughter would be in good hands. Miss Emmy explained parent expectations honestly and clearly, and everything felt manageable within such a supportive environment. Even though we have someone who could watch our daughter at no cost, we choose HRNS every day because of the community we've found. The teachers and parents have embraced our daughter with patience, care, and encouragement. Watching her continuously grow into her own person has been a joy, and she genuinely looks forward to going to school and moving to the "next door" each year. The super nurturing energy from her teacher, Ms. Samar, is so obvious and reflects in how my kiddo has become so excited to see her friends at school... she even used to carry her security cat (a literal Halloween black cat) during the day and now, she says goodbye to it at home! Leadership at the school is excellent - Ms. Cassandra is truly hands-on and adds to the positive energy for students and parents! There are holiday events for parents year round and kiddos work on art projects daily. The staff is super attentive - you can easily communicate via the Brightwheel app, which shares daily photos, videos, and messages with staff. Any school is scary for parents when it's the first time and your kiddo is very young, but Enchanted Castle has truly put my mind and concerns at ease. (For reference, we do M-F part-time which is 9AM - 12PM. Our kiddo doesn't nap at school but they have little cots for those who do).
