On this occasion we bought perfectly ripe papaya, sushi rice, sesame oil, hot sauce, Canadian bread flour and Cartmel sticky toffee pudding amongst other items - quite an eclectic list but all stuff we really needed in to cook with. The staff are always friendly here and go the extra mile in finding stuff in the back, you get free coffee if you're a Waitrose card holder and a free newspaper at the weekend if you spend more than £10 - £5 in the week (not a bad deal at all!) Overall an always pleasant shopping experience, we could just do with a bit more cash to really indulge ourselves here each visit :-)

A small Tesco Express store opposite Subway and next to The Upper Room in Cheadle Village…read more The store wasn't very clean, there was rubbish on the floor which had been swept to the side and the staff hadn't done anything with it and didn't appear to be doing anything with it, it was just rather messy. The selection was okay for a store of its' size, I was disappointed to find there were no Nespresso Starbucks capsules, they only had one option/brand, which was poorer than other Tesco Express stores. 3* - A-OK, useful if you're in a rush nearby and can't get to a bigger supermarket but selection and cleanliness can, of course, be improved.

This usually means that I end up not going in. The staff, however, are very friendly & helpful. It's not somewhere you can get a big shop but is handy for emergencies & has some good offers on at times. Loads of parking is available & it's in a convenient location.

We ordered a Christmas outfit for our little girl online and I needed to go and pick it up from our…read morelocal store which is in Cheadle Hulme. The transaction was fairly easy and it only took a minute although there were 3 girls on the service desk who all didn't seem massively bothered that there was a customer waiting to be served and carried on chatting amongst themselves while I was there - not really dashing to serve me and the woman who did bombarded me with internal Asda parcel collection jargon that the customer wouldn't know. The customer behind me was also spoken to in a rather negative/brisk fashion. This is a small supermarket with all the usual food and drinks on offer. Probably the first time I've been in an Asda for around 4 years, I won't be rushing back as I thought their attitude and customer service was pretty poor.

With…read moresuper markets shutting at 4pm on a Sunday, you unfortunately end up going to these rubbish express stores where the range is awful, they're out of the things you want and basically they jack up the price with everything in small packages. On one side it's handy for if we run out of milk etc to whizz down in the car but if you want to buy the smallest bag of rice there is in the world then you end up getting ripped off big style. It's also always rammed with everyone in the same boat who's realised they have no food in the house come Sunday night! If these places are allowed to be open till 11pm on a Sunday then let the bigger ones open up to give the consumer a good deal - it is 2015!
