When this Sainsbury's branch opened in Broadmead I just kind of though there are already too many places you can grab refreshments from, and Tesco it literally just around the corner, so I didn't really see the point. I have been in to grab a drink from here since though to check it out, and I still don't really see the point...
The store itself is very small so what they have to offer is very minimal - you couldn't do a weeks shop here - and their prices are much higher than normal Sainsbury's too, which is a bit irritating to say the least. They did however have a good number of staff, but the queue seems to take ages - I don't know why they're so slow though as there really isn't much of an excuse! They also have one of those do it yourself tills - but frankly I find these always mess up and they're even more irritating to use.
On the plus side the branch is very clean and modern, and I guess it serves a purpose if you want a quick refreshment - but the corner shop next door is being put out of business, and I always feel sorry for the independent stores when chain stores try to out do them... read more
