I've eaten in more than a few supermarket cafes and I know that I'm never going to get gourmet food so my expectations were not sky high. So, it's really quite sad that my experience fell below even my reality adjusted, low flying expectations. The service at the counter was really rather slow considering there was no queue and I might be excused for thinking it was the first day of work experience for almost all the staff so little did they know about the products they were selling.
Ah yes, the food. when I finally got the meal I'd ordered it offered no redemption. Burnt garlic bread was the best thing on the plate although the chips were just about redeemable with large applications of salt. The beef lasagne had not even a vague memory of beef (actually I'm not sure it had ever been acquainted with lasagne either) and the taste actually reminded me of fish more than anything (perhaps I should be worrying).
Redeeming features? Some of the staff tried to be helpful and were very apologetic about the mistake with my order and the latte was better than some branded chains (I'm rather proud that I managed to refrain from saying Starbucks) read more
