Something that is also wonderful is that Captain Judith only books up to six people on the sunset cruise.

Captain William and First Mate were amazing. We took some Beverages and charcuterie and he prepared and served us. Thank you !! Recommend 5 stars.

Hubs & I had gone sailing several times both with friends and on excursions before and were prepared for the wind and the spray, and most of all, I was excited for the heeling (hubs less so... but he loves me -- this was more in my wheelhouse than his). I admit, based on previous paid experiences I somewhat expected to have the option of handling the ropes to help with adjusting the sails, of course with appropriate guidance. In this case, that was a hard no; we were not to touch anything, "for safety". We got some commentary on the history of the island and it's fortresses - nice, but in my specific case take it or leave it (because we'd already been to Castillo San Cristobal). I preferred El Capitan talking with us and the other couple about where we were staying and what foodie priorities to get to during our stay. And God put on a sunset show for us, and it was neat to see the other ships in the bay -- from cargo ferries to private yachts to sailboats from all over to a pair of cruise ships in Port. Now I said I'd talk on our communication snafu with the owner -- with our booking there were pretty specific instructions on where to park and where to go. Which we endeavored to follow when we arrived, early, bearing in mind the "if you're late we leave without you, no refunds" cautionary language. We messaged that we were there, that we knew we were early, and where we were, by the gatehouse as instructed. Guard brought us in to where they said we would be met by the team from Sail San Juan Bay, and by then we had a conflicting location message. As we tried to follow orders, we received another message sending us back towards where we had been. I was put off by it, and all the more in contrast to another excursion I did the next day with incredibly clear info and texts to the entire group including the person actually taking point on the group, even though the meeting point was similarly at a public unmanned location. So yeah, 100% go on the sailboat, and enjoy the time on the bay... but follow initial instructions and if you can avoid contact with the owner, do so.

I'm…read moreoriginally from Puerto Rico and have traveled here many times but had never heard of this tour so I was a bit skeptical when he suggested it. I checked out the Facebook reviews and since my kids love to dance I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this was. This is a essentially a night club on a boat that takes you around San Juan bay for an hour. As you're walking towards the boat you can't help but to get all excited because of all the lights and music. Once on board you can select between dancing on the upper or lower level. We choose the upper level because we wanted to feel the sea breeze as we danced. Once you settle in prepare to dance non stop for the whole tour. It was amazing to be dancing with people of all ages. I suggest getting on board about 20-30 minutes early so that you can get a few minutes of extra dancing time. The cost is 15.00 per person for locals and 20.00 for tourists. If you're a dancer you'll get your monies worth but if you're not, you'll have a good time by checking out the sights and all of the people on the dance floor. If you're in Puerto Rico, this is a must do.

I found a few charters in the area and honestly it was chance that led me to select Puerto Rico Tarpon Connection. Captain Rafa responded to my emails swiftly and made me feel comfortable leading up to our trip. The night prior to our trip, I couldn't sleep a wink. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve. Our trip began on a rainy morning as a Puerto Rico "Cool Front" (80 degrees) had just come through. My wife who is not as experienced in fishing accompanied us. Captain Rafa offered her his only rain jacket which meant a lot to me. We began by catching bait and Rafa immediately put us on the fish. I believe we hooked up with approximately 10-15 tarpon during the course of our 4 our trip. We landed 5 fish (approximately 20 lbs or so). When Rafa and I weren't discussing our love for fishing, he and my wife were discussing their love for good food. Our day concluded with the Captain taking us to an area where we could feed wild Tarpon in the shallows with the remaining unused bait. What an experience!!! At the conclusion of the charter, the captain sat down and had lunch with us and advised us of some amazing local must-haves. The memories of this trip will be something that will last a lifetime. I appreciated Captain Rafa's professionalism and more importantly his concern for my wife's comfort and enjoyment during the trip. I feel like we definitely made a friend in Puerto Rico and are already discussing our next trip here. My next trip may include two tarpon charters and I won't use the services of anyone else but Captain Rafa!!! Captain Rafa, your new friends Derek and Channing are looking forward to visiting with you in the near future. Until then, tight lines!!

Hey Guys, Where do I start?…read moreSo captain Carlos is fantastic! I am a subscriber to his YouTube channel Buena Pesca Con Chispa https://youtube.com/c/ BuenaPescaconChispa if you have not seen his videos check them out! He is very personable. He grew up fishing here which made him knowledgeable, and his technique is on point. He's a real waterman. He surfs as well. He made sure I knew where to meet, and as soon as I got there, he met with me. I can tell he does the best he can to get us where the fish are. It's called fishing, guys. Let's not forget that. My friend didn't manage well on the water, so he took him back to drop him off. He wanted to make sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. He teaches well. If you are not comfortable or know how he's good at making you feel comfortable, be sure to follow his instructions. He knows what he is doing. Also, there's a recreational limit, so know that whatever you catch, if you hit your limit, you hit your limit, and the rest is for his taking. I gave him all my catch just because I had nowhere to cook it like I would want to, and he offered to fillet it too, but again, I had nowhere to put it. (I'm just visiting). I had a lot of fun the day was perfect. I caught four mackerel, amberjack, and a yellowtail snapper. What an unforgettable trip. muchas gracias capitán Carlos

The last time I went, he cut the trip short by an hour, he over charged me $100 and seemed upset when I wanted to take one of the Tuna we caught because of the price he would have got at the restaurants he sold to. I'll just leave it at that.
