    Birthday treat

The Sailing Bubble is my favorite way to charter in in SoFlo. Its owners Serge & Katherine provide great service, communication, timing, and positive energy. The captain sailing with us, Andrea did an incredible job keeping us safe, and navigating the waters how we desired. My birthday on the bubble was an unforgettable experience I will never forget, I am so grateful for my memories on the Sailing Bubble.

The best part of the trip was how we had the boat exclusively to ourselves! I didn't know it'd be a private tour until the day I came. So, the boat was just a total of 3 people (captain included). The water temperature was great and the clarity was decent. We even saw two dolphins! You meetup at Whiskey Joe's at the marina and you can start your excursion immediately. I liked that you didn't need to wait around much. I was able to see some cool looking fish, a bottom feeder and a crab. You get 2 hours for the snorkeling and you're not required to wear any life vests (in fact, we weren't offered any and I didn't see any). The water is super shallow so it didn't seem dangerous at all. The water is also salty and easy to float in. The boat was nearby the main snorkeling area. The bad: The area for snorkeling was pretty small. It was an artificial reef where the fish were but outside of that area there is just seagrass and there's no living things to observe. The website says snorkeling starts at $75/pp and up but that's misleading b/c that's only the price if you have 8+ people. When I came to the marina, the worker who had me sign paperwork said that "$25/hour tip is required" when I got an email saying 15% tip is optional. My husband clarified and he said "yes, it's required" but later retracted his statement after I clarified that it was strange to give tip upfront before we even went on the excursion. However, I did already give 15% tip upfront on 50% of the value and then Zelled an additional $25 tip to the captain himself afterward. The cost for snorkeling ended up being $407 for 2 people (pricey). The interesting: The captain swam with us to lead us to the reef and then swam back and was mostly on his phone.

My BF is a sailing enthusiast so I made a serious compromise. First let me say that Cap'n Russ is awesome. The boat was beautiful and clean. Russ keeps it in tip-top shape. He gave us a quick little tour and off we went! I learned about jibs and masts (oh baby) and it was a beautiful day. Cap'n Russ gave us privacy but was perfectly attentive and accommodating. He made the best little appetizers! So thoughtful. He took us through the little waterways to see the huge/gaudy homes that are everywhere in SoFla -- he showed us Andy Garcia's house and we saw him outside. Cool! Don't have enough nice things to say about Russ and the boat. The experience was fantastic. I didn't get seasick either which was quite a relief for all of us!

We left the dock approximately at 14:30 and were able to enjoy the incomparable Miami sunset to one side and on the other side the Miami skyline. On the boat they have all the amenities to control music from bluetooth to SiriusXM. Make sure to try they're crab cakes, so delicious! And Russell surprised my group with mouthwatering (award-winning) key lime pie, which we enjoyed on our way back to the dock. We didn't want the unforgettable evening to end, I highly recommend Sir Charters to celebrate any occasion. Thanks again, Russel and Susan! You'll be hearing form me in April 2020! All the best.

I sent several messages to different companies & captain Frank responded quickly & his prices were fair. I was a little hesitant about sailing but Captain frank understood and made me feel at ease. Additionally, He provides some refreshments which we found very nice I would totally recommend captain Frank to all my friends and will reach out to him again when my sister comes to visit.

His boat is easy to find since it has the highest mast in the marina. Around nine people were aboard along with Captain Frank and one crew member. Passengers were allowed to bring their own cooler with food and beverages. Pier 5 is at the backside of the Marina and we were able to enjoy the scenery that is Bayside from the water as we motored out the channel until we passed the Rickenbacker causeway. It seemed like the 68' mast barely cleared the bridge as we passed under. In reality he had four feet of clearance. Once we entered Biscayne Bay Captain Frank headed up into the wind to hoist the main sail after the main was hoisted the jib went up. The winds were from the East South East between 15 to 20 knots. We then headed down the bay accelerating to almost 10 knots on a starboard tack with the high side of the boat (I found it more comfortable to be on high side which provides more breeze and better view). We were heeled on starboard tack which provided a good view on the boat's high side of the bay with the normal weekend activities of jet skis, sailboats and motorboats. We saw a Hobie cat capsize in he water which provided additional viewing entertainment. Key Biscayne was picturesque as we sailed by. We came about after ten miles of sailing somewhere around Cutler Bay (see attached boat track) We were now on port tack which provided good views of Coconut Grove, Brickell and the Miami Skylines (Miami skyline is just behind the New York Skyline IMHO). During the voyage passengers were able to take the wheel and steer the boat under Captain Franks watchful eyes. This provided some excitement as each passenger got a feel for this large boat. We headed into the wind again to take down the jib and the main. We motored thru the channel into the Miami Marina to finish our cruise. I would recommend this cruise for anyone who wants to see Miami from a different perspective and experience sailing on a fast cruising sailboat. Captain Frank schedules the sailings on demand and is flexible to a day three hour or sunset cruise.
