The cruise was cozy with holiday theme beverages available for purchase, and the history lesson and the story written by James Sprunt in the 1800s told by Ingram was well worth the ticket price. I absolutely have to do more of the historic tours offered by Wilmington Water Tours. A couple of hours on this river cruise is definitely time well spent.

Late April must be the "sweet spot" for this cruise. The weather was perfect! The water was calm and we appreciated that we saw both daylight and dark during the cruise. The number of folks on the boat was good - we never felt too crowded; do not allow any more, though. The biggest thing that dinged the stars to four - and, I really was unhappy about this - was the volume of the singer. She was very good; she is talented and her selections were appropriate but TOO, TOO LOUD. The four of us could not hear each other talk (or, yell). It is a small boat; any amp at all is too much. I did (discreetly) mention something to one of our tour guides about asking her to decrease her volume. It was completely IGNORED. We booked this cruise because there was to be "entertainment" perhaps that was a poor choice. Value/fee was good - should not be any more.

The captain wasn't overly talky...pointed out some significant landmarks but let the river do all the talking. The boat does have a bar of wine, beer and pop. My colleagues and I enjoyed the tour completely, was a good opportunity for us to relax, hangout and enjoy each others company.

I was surprised that the tour has a commentary now so that was nice to learn more about the area and industries there. Although some of the folks talked over the commentary making it difficult to hear and I thought it was rude and disrespectful to the Captains. The clouds prevented seeing the sunset but I really enjoyed catching some of the machines operating at the docks. The lumber chips were being made to send to Turkey for them to build the board to send back here. Another was grabbing something white and moving it. I took videos but they haven't posted so I will try again. I just found it interesting to learn about all that goes on. I don't remember seeing the machinery in action before.

On the sunset cruise, it can get a little hot sometimes, but once you make it to the ocean breeze, it is perfect. I was able to sit up at the bow and I definitely recommend it. We went out for 2 hours and made it back right as the sun was setting.

This was an afternoon filled with tons of fun!…read more We were in the area for vacation and OIB has the usually beachy entertainment options. This one was a refreshing break from mini golf and arcades and fun for both kids and adults. We had a pretty large group and some did the zip line course and some braved the adventure park (aka ropes course). We had lots and lots of fun, overcame some anxiety, and had a few sore muscles to show off our achievements. I also owe a big shout out to George, who was amazingly patient with my crew and helped coordinate the outing so that we all started/finished around the same times. I also heard from the kids that their guides were fantastic. They were especially impressed that they remembered every single person's name for an event that lasts only a few hours.

For the Zipline tour, we had Jesse, Margaret, and Lacey as our guides and all of them were great! Jesse is very fun and funny, Margaret is super sweet, and Lacey had amazing knowledge on fun facts throughout the tour! The zip lines were very fun, and all three guides took every measure to ensure our safety, creating a good sense of trust. We all felt like a group of friends by the end of our tour. They also take photos at the beginning, middle, and end of the tour with specific spots for photo ops which I truly appreciate! (You do have to pay for the photos.) I will absolutely recommend The Swamp Park to friends and family! We plan to come back and try the ATV tour next!

They spent a great deal of time with us, making sure that we understood how to operate the boat, where safety gear was stored, and how to best navigate the waterways (we arrived at low tide and we were unfamiliar with these waterways, so it was good to receive these extra instructions). They even showed us maps of some of the best places to explore and to avoid the weekend crowds. We had a wonderful, care-free afternoon on the water. Family visiting and wanted to go stand up paddle boarding and we found this place on the way off…read morethe island while we were grabbing dinner and glad that we were able to go on a Friday show up with no reservation and rent the SUPs for two hours along the waterway You get a brief introduction on how to hold a paddle and maneuver your way on the stand up paddle boards and I did get the local shop cell phone number just in case we got stuck but they did advise us to stayy off of the grass since there are oyster beds over there and you can cut your feet from the sharp shells but overall a good time and will definitely be back when I'm in the area. They are also able to hold your keys just in case you do flip off and lose your items from the bungee cords on your board.
