His boat was clean and no less than five minutes into our hour and a half long cruise we saw dolphins. Captain Kirby was informative, funny and gave us a great restaurant recommendation (see my review on Riverside Cafe). His vast knowledge of the area and waterways made for a relaxing and stress free cruise. The cruise was private and his boat offers a bathroom, both of which are not common with other local boat tours. We will book another cruise next time we are in the area!

Living in Florida for as long as I can remember - 40 plus years - I was never the type that went…read morefishing. It wasn't something I did as a kid and it wasn't something I did growing older. My father never had an interest in it and I guess that transferred to me as an adult. Now I have young kids and my 8 year-old son has a desire to fish. It wasn't something I suggested, he requested it all on his own. We've been fishing a few times since moving to Vero Beach. It's all been pier fishing but my son wanted more. Researching the subject, I met Captain Tim through mutual friends online. An interesting person with years of experience. Meeting Captain Tim at Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary, my friend Eli joined my son and me for a day of fishing. I wanted something "local" or "inland" meaning I wasn't interested in ocean fishing - I just wanted to make my son happy and not "rock the boat" as they say. And since Eli was the individual who took us pier fishing, my son wanted to return the favor by taking him out. Safety checks and instructions and we were off for a day on the Indian River Lagoon. Captain Tim provided a few options and we took his suggestion at heading south toward Fort Pierce. Along the way, Tim explained the various landmarks. He seemed very knowledgeable of the area and its history. Fish were light on our particular experience - we caught enough to make two sandwiches and a bowl of soup - but it was a great experience. A number of fish caught didn't meet the minimum size requirements and had to be thrown back in the water. With that said, it wasn't about the size of the fish, but the number of fish actually caught. We caught three times as many as we kept. Six hours on the boat and we were back at Memorial Island. Captain Tim cleaned all of the fish and bagged them for us. From start to finish, all that was required was to show up at the pier and jump on the boat. Friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Captain Tim provided a great experience. Fellsmere Reservoir Captain Paul…read more What an amazing trip! Captain Paul had gold mines! Every spot he took us to we caught at and ended up with a few under 50 quality largemouth bass. Almost every bass was hefty with a great fight. Captain Paul was extremely knowledgeable of the body of water and got us to each spot quickly. What a great trip. There was a swell coming in from a distant storm but the day was amazing. The fish weren't active but the captain and crew were always going looking for the fish. I could not be happier with the charter. The boat was solid and spacious. The ride was smooth and the captain was a living map of the sea.
