Pros- - Family owned and Operated. They care about what they put out. - Very good home cooked food. - Despite there being a buffet, each of the dishes were seasoned well and labeled correctly. - Not like a traditional American buffet where everything is the same level of bland. - The Naan was made to perfection. (Be warned, if you're sensitive to spice, ask the server what mild dishes they recommend) - The server we had was very informative and caring and I never felt like I was ignored when I needed something. Ambiance was pristine, I imagine it's better at night. Very cozy atmosphere with light traditional Indian music. - One of the few Indian restaurants I've been to that didn't leave me on the toilet. Cons- - Slightly pricey. For two buffets, two baskets of Naan and two Mango Juices with a ~25% tip, it came out to around ~$55. Not bad but not cheap. I ordered online from Sai Indian Cuisine in Amarillo and was excited to try their food. I ordered mutton curry, chicken tikka masala, chili paneer, and garlic naan. Unfortunately, my experience with the chicken tikka masala was extremely disappointing. The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell of old fenugreek. The smell was so strong that it completely overpowered the dish, and unfortunately the taste matched it. After the first bite, I immediately noticed that the texture did not seem like chicken at all -- it had the consistency of paneer. After checking the dish more carefully, I found actual chicken pieces mixed in with what appeared to be paneer-like chunks. It looked as though something other than chicken had been added to make the dish appear fuller. I called the restaurant to simply ask how their chicken tikka masala is prepared and whether there was anything other than chicken in the gravy. The response I received was that there was only chicken. When I explained that I had chunks of something that appeared to be paneer in the dish, the response suddenly changed to, "Oh, it's eggs." As someone who grew up eating North Indian food, I have never encountered eggs being added to chicken tikka masala, and more importantly, this was never disclosed anywhere on their menu. Their website describes the dish as "chicken baked in clay oven and cooked with mild sauce" -- there is no mention of eggs, paneer, or any other ingredient that could be a concern for someone with allergies. When I brought up the concern that someone with an egg allergy would have no way of knowing this, the response I received was simply, "You need to tell me." I explained that when ordering online, customers can only go off the information provided on the menu. Instead of acknowledging the issue, I was met with the same dismissive response. The conversation continued to become more unprofessional. When I questioned the way I was being spoken to, the person responded that this was how he talked to customers and then hung up on me. For anyone who is new to Indian food and is looking for an authentic experience, I would strongly caution you. This was the furthest thing from the North Indian food I grew up eating. Authentic Indian cuisine is built around carefully balanced spices, proper preparation, and transparency about ingredients -- not masking questionable additions or dismissing customer concerns. Whether this was the owner or an employee, the attitude and lack of accountability were unacceptable. A restaurant should be transparent about its ingredients, especially when allergens are involved, and should treat customers with basic respect when concerns are raised. The food quality was disappointing, but the customer service was even worse. I cannot recommend Sai Indian Cuisine based on this experience. read more

This was my first time trying their food, had it delivered. Food was still warm and got the chicken vindaloo, it tasted okay but very small portion I thought for $18 not much chicken I think there were more carrots than meat and not even enough sauce to cover the rice.. I also got the chicken naan which seemed dense not the usual fluffy/chewy texture. I won't probably be back anytime soon unfortunately. read more

The naan could have been a little less dense and puffy, but overall great flavor and arrived hot. Each entree comes with tons of rice so you don't need to order much. We had the pleasure of having dinner at this quaint family run restaurant. We were greeted with a friendly smile and were seated immediately. We started with the vegetable samosas which were deliciously crispy. I really enjoyed the mint chutney and tamarind sauce that accompanied the samosas. If you're staying in a hotel in the area skip the fast food and head here for a great meal. This restaurant has an extensive menu to fulfill every taste. The food is very flavorful with a great combination of spices. The Nan is the lightest I've ever had, fantastic. Service was great without being over bearing. The ambiance is fine, I think it may have been a sports bar in another life. There's plenty of parking and I felt safe. So give up the burger and enjoy real food after your long drive. read more

This lace has THE BEST Indian food in town!! I had previously enjoyed Its a Punjabi Affair, however this place blows them out of the water!! The service is expedient, friendly, and offers amazing suggestions! They even help cater to people with food allergies! I informed them of my allergies and they made a dish I really wanted to try special so that it didn't have those ingredients. The pricing is great (less than most other places too) and the atmosphere is very nice. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. If you love Indian food, this is the place to go!! read more

We ordered Sai Indian tonight through DoorDash. Our papadam was burnt. I ordered butter chicken spicy- and it wasn't even a hit of spice. Also found skins of chicken . And we ordered Kodai chicken medium and it was not any spice at all. Very disappointed with Sai. I don't think we will be ordering with them again. read more

Indian food being a favorite of mine I was happy to learn about this new option in Amarillo. Sai Indian Cuisine opened about six months ago and is conveniently located on Olsen Blvd close to Planet Fitness. Located on the shopping strip it has ample parking for easy access to the business. The restaurant is located on the corner, has an ample dinning room and a bar with a large TV; is good for family dinning. We went for a late lunch and grab the lunch buffet option which is available until 2:30pm. Upon entering the establishment we were promptly greeted at the door and seated. The buffet had multiple options with appetizers, different vegetable and rice dishes, tandoori chicken, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. It also had several desert options available on a chilled cart. The food was quite good, had to say the white rice was too cooked for my taste but otherwise the food was good for a buffet. I was told the buffet offerings change daily. Naan was brought to the table without having to ask. The price for two came to around $40 with two soft drinks. We really enjoyed the experience, food was good, price was on par with most other lunch options in town and we will certainly return. If you like Indian food and wonder if the place is a good option I invite you to give them a try; I'm sure most of you will be pleased with it. read more
