Soho Road is renowned for some of the most glamourous Indian fashion in the city but a lot of the boutiques lining the road specialise in readymade outfits. There are few, like Sahota Boutique that sell unstitched suits and open fabric.
They tend to have casual to simple formalwear with more emphasis on prints and light embroidery than heavily detailed fabrics. Although their clothes are always in line with current trends and at competitive rates compared to other boutiques in the vicinity.
If you're looking for plain material in silk, satin, cotton or organza; they have small selections of these too. Generally, their fabrics are for set outfits that comprise of a top (kameez), bottoms (salwar) and scarf (dupatta). It's a shame they don't recommend any tailors, which most boutiques with open fabric do.
It's a family business so you get a homely feel when you're there and the staff are very helpful. read more
