Honestly quite disappointed - not in the care provided but rather their customer service and office policies. I went to see Dr. Ochi and my first visit was pleasant. On my second visit I was falling sick - getting the chills, body aches, head ache. I called several hours before my appointment time and was told that if I tried to cancel or reschedule I would be charged $70. So, I went to my appointment even though I felt sick (seems ironic). On both check-in and check-out I was ignored by the front desk person. She was talking quite casually on the phone on both occasions, and instead of letting me know I needed to wait a few minutes, she let me stand there and stare at her and completely ignored me. If she had acknowledged me upon check-in I would've told her that the sing-in sheet was full and needed a new one - but she did not care to check until a doctor asked her to. Not ideal service, but not the end of the world - I would've still kept going. My third appointment was scheduled for today. I called the office on my way to let them know I may be a minute late. The front desk person informed me that the doctor had been sick all weekend and that my appointment had been cancelled. Apparently she had called earlier that day but I missed the call. I was offered no apology for the inconvenience. It seems strange that, while if I need to reschedule my appointment because I am sick, I am charged $70. But if they need to reschedule my appointment, I don't even get an apology. Plus, their offices are open on Saturdays - so if they live so strictly by the 24 hrs+ rule, and the Dr. had been sick all weekend, I should've received a call on Saturday and not day of. But apparently their time is much more valuable than mine. The only reason I am giving a 2 star and not a 1 star is because I really liked Dr. Ochi. Their office policies and front desk staff are the reason I will not return and not recommend. read more

Phi-Lan is a miracle worker!! I have been coming here for acupuncture for a couple of months now to treat my chronic neck and back pain. Unfortunately, in California it is hard, if not impossible to find the kind of treatment options that are offered at SageMED. Went to this clinic for multiple providers (primary, massage, and physical therapy) over the span of over 4 years. They never resolved any of my chronic pain issues in spite of thousands of dollars poured into the effort from my bank account. The owner of the clinic took it upon himself to write a very rude, unprofessional email response to me recently as well. I'll have to let my patient referrals know that SageMED is no longer the high quality care provider I originally thought it was. Words cannot express how disappointed I am in this clinic and its owner. UPDATE 2/14/2018 Let me go ahead and clarify Sage's response for everyone. I was deeply hurt when, after spending thousands of dollars at Sage's clinic, I lost two careers over the span of 6 years due to mismanaged chronic pain conditions. The original review was one that I wrote within my first year of seeing him, prior to a car accident and other factors that made my symptoms much, much worse. I went to multiple appointments with Sage himself throughout my last 4 years with SageMED, and even though I would get marginal benefits from one treatment or another, nothing was enough to save me from losing my career twice in a row. The most egregious part being that when I started to come to the "end of the line" with Sage's treatment options, he suggested I come off of birth control pills to help "minimize" my pain. He also recommended an IUD instead of the pills I had been taking most of my life if I were to continue contraception at all (the rhythm method was suggested as well in spite of my clear lack of desire to start a family by accident). I had a horrendous IUD insertion experience that left my less than stellar gynecologist and Sage scratching their heads. I tried going off the pill without an IUD instead, and I experienced the most pain I've ever had in my life for the three months I was off of my oral contraceptives. A month later, when I saw a highly qualified gynecologist, he immediately diagnosed me with Endometriosis, and said that Sage's suggestion to have me go off of birth control as a way of "minimizing pain" had no basis in modern day medical research. What I endured for my last 4+ years there was enough to earn him negative stars, but since my first year with SageMED started on a high note, I still left him with 1 star to reflect the 1 out of 6 years that was productive at SageMED. The doctors that i had were really nice but need to go back to med school.. When i came to them,I had sever pain through my back to the point where i couldnt walk and a dangerously high fever. They took blood samples and examined me for a good hour. Eventually they decided that i could possibly have West Nile or some other rare diseases spread by mosquito. They kept in touch for the whole day; eventually telling me that i need to go to the er right away because i might be dying. when i got to the er (after having many panic attacks on the way because I WAS TOLD I MIGHT BE DYING) they sat me down for 10mins and told me i had a kidney infection. After 30mins of antibiotics they let me leave walking and fever down. So i now have to pay almost 200 dollars for pills that don't work (and i will never use), a few gray hairs from the death scare, and lab tests that gave the wrong diagnosis. read more

This review is for Phi-Lan Nguyen. I had lower back pain to the point where I could barely stand up straight, and couldn't walk without assistance. I threw it out putting my baby down with poor posture. I got an appointment that same day. Phi-Lan has great bedside manner. She listened to me and told me that I probably had a herniated or bulging disk. She had asked if it was my first time getting acupuncture, and I told her it was. She asked if I was afraid of needles. I said I was fine. She spoke to me as if she cared, and she was super willing to answer any questions. Just as important, though, was that the acupuncture was effective. After that first session, I could walk upright without assistance, albeit very slowly. It was a vast, vast improvement from just a one hour session (half an hour of actual needles in back). I went to a total of 5 sessions, every three days. And my back was completely fine afterwards. She also gave me some exercises and stretches to do to strengthen my back to prevent getting hurt again. Dr Hilla Asadi has quickly become not only someone I respect but cherish very much! After months of struggling with unknown abdominal pain and dietary issues (after seeing a multitude of other Doctors and being given pill after pill with no improvement) I met Dr Asadi and felt, for the first time, like I was being heard. I had my Cool Sculpting procedure here and am so thrilled with the results! I was not very big to begin with, but with all the extra activities of running around and hitting the gym, I was unable to loose that stubborn belly fat I acquired after my son was born! I finally decided to give this new technique a try. I went down 2 pant sizes and it's awesome to be as small as I was in high school. I no longer have that pooch and I don't have to be embarrassed wearing a swimsuit now! The initial treatment felt weird at first because of the suction sensation of the device against my skin, but i got used to it. If anything, it made me laugh. The staff there were very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I even got to bring in my laptop and work while the procedure was being done since I had my own room for privacy! I have been going to Phi-Lan Nguyen for a several years now and she owns Zen Attitude and works out of SageMED. I have had eczema for years and have been to different doctors over the years since it became so painful, itchy, and irritating at times and nothing seemed to really fix the problem and it just kept coming back. Trying acupuncture was the best thing I could've done. Phi-Lan started me on herbs and regular acupuncture visits and my eczema has significantly improved and become much more manageable. Nothing I have tried prior to this has helped this much! My overall health feels better in general as well. Phi-Lan is great and is very easy to talk to and gives great advice to also help improve your lifestyle so that the results continue to last. Phi-Lan Nguyen was super helpful in my battle with elbow/arm tendonitis. I've been an active rock-climber for nearly 10 years and over that time I have never been injured. That is, until January, when tendonitis prevented me from lifting grocery bags. I thought rest would help, 6 months later and no change to my pain, I finally decided to get some help. Phi-Lan was professional, understanding and helpful during my recovery. She gave me great advice and eased me into acupuncture which I had never done before. Dr. Althaus has been really helpful to my daughter! The pediatrician we had for years deferred to Children's for her treatment. Children's basically said that she doesn't feel well and her tests are outside the normal range but they are not bad enough to warrant treatment. I have been going toSageMed for over a year, now. I first came to them after a horrible sprain to my foot and ankle. I have seen a few different doctors there who have all helped me greatly with getting my circulation going again with what is known as Contrast Therapy, giving me wonderful back adjustments and working with my gait. My current doctor, Dr Sam Schikowitz, has been successfully treating my toe fungus and giving my a great supplement to treat the damaged cartilage in my knees, as well as providing a great massage therapy for my right hip and tendon. Every provider I have seen at SageMED has been amazing! Dr. Wheeler was the first doctor in my life to see all my health issues (post-concussion syndrome, migraines, CRPS and more) and treat it like they were no big deal. At the time, I thought that he was either completely insane or utterly brilliant. It turns out that he is utterly brilliant! He has helped me almost completely negate a debilitating dust allergy, made a night-and-day difference in my concussion symptoms, treated my severely arthritic knees, helped me ween completely off seven years of opiates and helped me lose over 50 pounds! Phi-lan, the acupuncturist, really does work miracles. While weening off the opiates, she helped keep the chronic pain in check, she helped decrease the frequency and intensity of the migraines, helped with sleep problems and GI problems. I would not have been able to stop the opiates and nervous system suppressants without her help. I love that she always starts appointments by sitting down to check in with me on my physical/mental/emotional health. She is professional, caring, empathetic, and compassionate! Marrie, the LCSW, has helped me to change the way I look at my health, my family and myself. When my husband's company transferred our family from where all my family and friends live to WA last summer, it was an incredibly difficult time for me. I very quickly fell into a deep depression. I met Dr. Wheeler when he was also practicing in Sammamish. I was under his care primarily between 11/2011 to spring 2012 during my pregnancy. Sadly, I suffered previous miscarriages and was very nervous about this (eventually successful) one. I was frustrated with my conventional OB care at Swedish, guess I wanted "answers", who wouldn't? I only met Dr. Wheeler by chance and was glad I did. He is progressive, intelligent, scientific, and compassionate. He suggested the MTHFR genetic test to see if my folic acid conversion is normal. Turned out I've a mutation, which is statistically only a 3% chance for my ethnicity. He worked with me on my insurance and was extremely down to earth. I ran into him again later at other continuing education and new medical technology programs for physicians, so I know he's up to date on evidence-based practices. But more importantly he's open minded to improve his patients' outcomes. Since then he expanded his practice and now in Bellevue specializing in pain. Was looking for a naturopathic doctor that could work on acute pain for an athlete partaking in elite fitness such as triathlon and crossfit. I put my body through a ton of abuse, and came in taking a chance on a healthy and natural approach to healing. I initially had some prolotherapy and standard trigger point injection work and was pleasantly surprised. Problems I've had for years on my shoulder and back were kept at bay to a minimum, and a better alternative with longevity and sustainability vs. steroid injections. They have a clean facility, walls aren't as thin as other places, and the employees, including the front-line staff were friendly and accommodating. I worked with Dr. Weitz who listened and was empathetic to my symptoms. She finds prescriptive ways to address my issues (lower back/shoulder). I'm 35 now, and have been partaking in these sports for close to 10 years. And without her help, I wouldn't be able to perform at a high level with regularity.
