I really appreciate that he was willing to see me despite the missed appointment. The appointment went well as usual. I was able to tell him some things about some of the forms and he asked me some questions about my prior year, which he also told me I could do business deductions and we went through a tiny list of things that we could deduct. I generally scan all my stuff into PDF format where I don't have a digital copy and just hand him a flash drive with all the stuff for him to use (he will scan physical documents for you if it comes down to it). Given that he now has a digital portal, you can probably upload the docs there instead.

They maintained excellent communication throughout the process, asking on-point questions, and finished much quicker than I expected. Many folks have simple tax returns and can plug numbers into the online tax software and be done in ten minutes. That was my approach for years. However, as my tax situation became more complicated, the need for a trusted tax advisor became more apparent. While completing our tax return, we identified "obvious" errors on my self-prepared via an online software tax return. Ultimately, at some point in February 2022, I decided to hire David to do my 2021 United States Individual Income Tax Return, my 2021 California Resident Income Tax Return, and my 2021 Corporate Tax Return (for both the federal government, and the State of California).
