The overall atmosphere makes working out feel motivating instead of intimidating. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and really focused on proper form. The workouts are challenging but approachable, and you always leave feeling stronger and energized. Even though the classes are group-based, the instructors make it easy to modify movements if needed, which makes the classes accessible for different fitness levels. I also love how intentional the workouts feel, they're effective without feeling overwhelming. It's truly a studio that makes you look forward to your workouts. The only thing I would change is the cancellation period - 12 hours is a long time for things to come up. I recommend Melt any chance I get and would absolutely encourage anyone looking for a supportive and effective workout to check it out.

I'm turning 57 this year and I have to start fighting to keep what I took for granted in my youth…read more I know I need to move more. I also need to start working my memory to assist my cognitive abilities. What better way than to dance!!! The day I went, we learned choreography to S&M by Rihanna. I was nervous in the beginning because I know I'm nowhere near as flexible than I use to be. I had to be the oldest there and I was tired before we started. The dance was sexy, but I have always identified as a Lucille Ball. Can you even imagine? Don't try. lol The staff was just the right amount of encouraging and pushy. I had fun and felt accomplished by the end of the session. I learned the choreography and my balance improved. I noticed that they didn't have a clock on the wall, which I thought was diabolical and smart. This way I focused on the class and not the clock.

It moves at a rather fast pace, so I wouldn't recommend for beginners. It was packed in there too, get there early to claim a spot. The location is kind of hidden around the corner, but there's plenty of parking! I did take off a star because the music was way too loud during the class. The instructor didn't wear a mic and it was impossible to hear her even though I was in the front row. I had to rely on watching others to figure out what we were supposed to do.

Caveat: I had danced prior (at another studio, YEARS ago downtown) - this was my date's intro to dancing. The lessons are great - you're not overwhelmed, they work on establishing the basics with you so you have a solid foundation before you start on the deeper aspects. The dances - from "social foundations" to their parties - are a great mix, old and young, all levels out on the dance floor. They are ALL friendly and supportive, making sure you are learning AND having fun doing so! No matter how bad a day at work I have (mental and spiritual drain is real) - when I step in to the studio, they put on some music, and you can lose yourself focusing on dancing. If you want to learn? Seeking a good outing that is some nice exercise and working on movement? It's absolutely worth it.
