Dr. Hilali is superior, explains as she works, she's considerate and kind. Dunia , the hygienist, is gifted with gentle hands and a calm manner. These women are a true godsend for me and I am sincerely grateful to them for putting up with me.

I wanted to share my experience at Gentle Dentistry of Tamarac to help others navigate their visits…read morehere. The only reason this is not a lower rating is because the dentist herself was very sweet and professional during our initial interaction, but unfortunately, the rest of the visit was extremely off-putting. I called in advance to set up an appointment for a standard cleaning and X-rays, and I double-checked that my insurance was accepted. Upon arrival, they took X-rays and performed an iTero scan, followed by a brief meeting with the doctor. However, the receptionist holding a clipboard with a price sheet informed me that my insurance "isn't great," that they don't get paid from it, and that it would only cover the X-rays. She then claimed that due to a diagnosis of excess plaque, a basic cleaning wasn't covered and quoted me several hundred dollars out-of-pocket for a deeper type of clean, alongside a treatment plan for a retainer and Invisalign that totaled roughly $3,000. Knowing my benefits, I called my insurance company directly while standing right in the office, and my insurer confirmed that a standard, basic preventative cleaning was fully covered. What made the situation more uncomfortable was the atmosphere. When I politely questioned the front desk about why I was diagnosed with something requiring a non-covered procedure rather than a basic cleaning, the staff began whispering to each other, and other team members started peeking around the corner at me. It made me feel alienated and embarrassed over standard insurance questions. Additionally, no periodontal probing or charting was performed during the entire exam to justify the upcharge. I ultimately took my treatment sheet and walked out without getting the cleaning done. I have since gone to a new dentist, and the contrast was night and day. My new provider completed a full head, neck, lymph node, and jaw examination, performed a thorough periodontal chart (showing healthy numbers of 2s and 3s), and confirmed my teeth look great. They even had to retake the X-rays because the images sent from Gentle Dentistry were not to their standards. Even paying completely out-of-pocket at my new dentist, the full exam and basic cleaning came out to just $150, far more affordable and transparent than what I was quoted here. While the doctor herself was pleasant, the sales-driven atmosphere at the front desk, the lack of standard diagnostic steps like perio charting, and the awkward treatment from the staff made it clear this office was not the right fit for me.

I finally took the plunge, and we went to South Florida Dentistry today. The experience was entirely positive, minus the three new cavities found in my LO's mouth! At first sight the building is this quaint Keys style home, and everything inside follows that theme. The staff at the front were extremely friendly, as were the hygienists that completed my kids' cleanings. The interior of the building is very clean and fresh appearing and they have the cutest clocks (see photos to appreciate). The dentist was extremely approachable and personable, and ensured I understood that the dentists were on call 24-7 for any emergencies. Pricing was very upfront - which I appreciate as I have personally had an unpleasant experience with changing costs in the past. I was very happy with the level of care my kids received, and I feel confident our visits for the cavities will go equally as well.

I was recently recommended to an endodontists for my daughter who needed a root canal and we could not have asked for a better endodontist , Dr Melanie sent us to the best. The front desk staff at south florida dentistry is amazing from start to finish, always welcoming and professional. This is hands down the best dental office in South Florida, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are a true gem, and I hope they are cherished forever! Thank you I will forever be grateful to you and you staff!

If your appt is at 1pm they may start your child at 2pm. You will very much likely be waiting 9/10. Also, make sure if you miss any appointments let the insurance company know. And i didnt cancel, they canceled my son while we waited in the office already for almost an hr in december without seeing him claiming insurance issue but they reported to insurance they saw him that day. This office still charges as if they saw the patient even if they did not. And if that happens, it's up to YOU and only YOU only to correct it. Even though the office made the mistake. The office marking you present and the doctor taking payment for a patient they did not see will be up to you to fix. The office reported my child that they did his teeth in December 2025 and he was seen since June 2025. Someone from the office marked my son present for cleaning in December and he did not get one or even step foot in the dental room that day. The office was paid for an appt my son wasn't there for. They now created a delay and conumdrum in my childs dental plan and gave me the run around for over a month making it seem like their manager will call insurance and fix issue since they did not see my child. They reschedule my son and made it seem like they will clean it since they made an error and then cancel the day before saying my insurance wont allow it because he came in December. But he wasnt there in December, he was there almost a year ago in June. The office will reschedule you and cancel your appt the day before or day of because they are very sloppy with their paper work. I would not recommend this location. They look clean inside but the workers do not care and are not helpful and all of a sudden some of them pretend English is difficult when there is an issue to help someone with. In December on the 16th of 2025 it was the lady at front desk with dark long ponytail that marked us present and my son was not seen. We came in March and Paola acknowledged the error and said a manager will call me. And no manager called me to correct issue. I was only rescheduled and canceled and given the run around. His appt should be today and these ppl told me I should be fine due to their mistake and they call me yesterday after I made my time free for my son appt today to cancel again. They saying because insurance only do 2 cleaning and saying my son had 2 last yr but he only had ONE CLEANING. YET THE DOCTOR WAS PAID FOR 2 CLEANINGS AND THEY DID NOT DO A 2ND CLEANING FOR MY SON. They need to honor his 2nd cleaning because they made a mistake

On my last few appointments I've had to wait for 30-45 minutes after my appointment time for my child to be seen but today was the last straw. The inefficiency here is obvious as children and their parents were lined up in the hallway and the waiting room entrance area were filled to capacity, even during covid era, all waiting to be seen. My appointment was at 3:30, therefore I had to clock out of work early, and check my son out of school early in order to make the appointment. I checked in at 3:25 and waited in the seating area. At 4:15 I went back to the counter and told them that my appt was 45 minutes ago. The front counter representative went to ask someone in the back how much longer (I'm assuming) before coming back to the front counter and escorting me to the back dental room. Once in the dental room, with my son in the chair, I was told we were waiting on the doctor...ok. Another 15 minutes, it was now 4:30, still waiting. Another 15 minutes, it was now 4:45, still waiting, at this time I decided to leave. So from 3:25 check-in, with a 3:30 appt, until 4:45 just sitting and waiting. When leaving from the back room and walking toward the entrance I saw all the other patients standing in the hallway area, all waiting as well. I am aware that the ortho doctor only comes on certain days, but clearly this is a case of QUANTITY OVER QUALITY! Obviously, just like any other doctor or dental office, insurance claims are the money motive, especially when they accept companies under Medicaid, I get it. But to have your patients waiting for hours is not ok when I could have been at work, or my son could have finished a full day of school instead of being checked out early only to wait until almost 5pm and after to be see. This practice was soooooo much better years ago, it has went totally downhill. The lack of care and consideration of the patients time is evident. Even after I left, no one bothered to call to ask if I was ok or to reschedule. It sucks because I don't like to move around from office to office when it comes to medical care but at this point it's necessary. If you value your time, do not bother coming here.
