Overall I would give my experience 1 star. Had I known this practice was owned by private equity, I would have never gone to my appointment. You can tell private equity runs the business because they are quick to attempt to drill and fill. Very aggressive approach to dealing with caries and potential cavities. They do not have private rooms here, you are in close proximity to other patients receiving services, which also made me feel uncomfortable. They took a $100 refundable deposit from me to hold future appointments, when I cancelled the appointments I was told that I would maybe receive a refund after corporate reviewed everything. They said corporate needs to wait for insurance but why would insurance have anything to do with a $100 deposit for FUTURE appointments. With the insurance I have, I never should have even been charged this deposit to begin with. They tried to upsell me a $150 cleaning even though I get two free cleanings a year with insurance. Cancelling the appointments was a chore to begin with. They didn't answer their phone so I left a message and I texted the number they have on their site last week. No response. I emailed their patient coordinator Carol, no response. I am beyond happy my old dentist Dr Krichmar at Coral Springs Family Dental takes my new insurance(I should have checked with them before ever booking here). I do not recommend Sage and you should definitely be getting second opinions if possible. read more

Do Not Go Here! First time there. I had a normal 6 month cleaning appointment. I get there and she takes 18 X-rays...yes 18! She said it's normal for "new" patients. Then the doctor comes in, examines me, says that I have no cavities but I need a deep clean. I asked if it was covered by my insurance. 5 minutes later a guy in a shirt and tie wheels on over with an iPad with my estimate as it wasn't covered. I told him that I wasn't interested. He goes to the computer and a minute later he says I'm done. I asked if they are still going to do the normal clean. He said no because it wasn't what the Md recommended. He said that they sent me an email. It was my "estimate" with my forged signature saying that I reviewed it. Never in my 50 years going to dentist every six months in 3 different states has the MD checked my teeth before the cleaning. Such a scam. I absolutely should've read the other reviews before booking. Lesson learned. read more

It's impossible to get an orthodontist appointment that does not require my kid to skip class. The number one question I asked when I was selecting a provider and they said they have lots of students, no problem. They were only able to see my son a handful of times and each time, I had to take up out of school meanwhile collecting payment monthly. After skipping so many months, I finally took my kid of school today and here is the gist of their service: - Pay the remaining balance because that is your contract with us - Terminate the treatment since there is nothing we can do at this point but you have to pay to full amount. My son is 18 and I did my braces with them for 3 years at 30, btw. - It does not matter that you cannot get an appointment with us, we've been texting you every month so pay the remaining balance of the full contract Apparently I am the only one in contract with them. They have no obligation whatsoever to do their job. read more

I love Pam she's great- unfortunately Sage dental always gives me a huge bill with charges I didn't expect to get on a regular cleaning. I was told I needed deep cleaning because I have inflamed gums. This I already know because it's genetic however they failed to do due diligence in just doing a cleaning first before my insurance actually could cover a deep cleaning at the beginning of 2023. Not Pam's fault, she's there to clean... it's probably admin and the Cuban dentist there trying to pump their books. Find another place. read more

I've been going to this place for a few years due to the convenience of it being across the street from where I live. The only good thing about this place was the gentle touch from my hygienist. Besides that, make sure you bring a book to read because you're going to have to wait at least an hour before you get seen. Every time you come in they have you fill out the same redundant paperwork that they should already have on file. They are practicing like if they are in the 90s. It is 2019 and you can have everything digitally on an iPad for your patients. The facility has really bad hygiene. Floors are falling apart, chairs are old and raggedy, there are holes in the walls, and fossetts that don't even work. I feel so bad for the office manager because she has to deal with this every day. It is unfortunate but she's helpless due to the lack of corporate management. Patient experience is key and extremely important! This is a failing business. I will NEVER go there again and will be their worst walking advertisement. read more

Go to a different location if you have to use sage dental. I wait about less than 10 minutes at the Coral Springs and Boca Raton locations, but at the Coconut Creek, it will take you forever. In my case, I waited about 20-30 minutes to be called inside, but even after being sat down, my doctor never came!!! My appointment was at 3:30. I was called inside around 4:00, but the doctor never came, even by 5:00. I ended up walking out because I was so pissed off. My appointment was with Dr. Cunningham, but she supposedly was still handling another patient for over 1.5 hours... So, by 5:00 I walked out. Yup, I was the stupid one for even considering to wait so long, but I needed my gums checked out. In addition, my hygienist at the Coral Springs location told me that the Coconut Creek location put on my file that I just got up and walked out. The f*ck kind of bullsh*t is that? How about you write on the file you never f*cking came, so that's why I left!!! Update (response to Coconut Creek location) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Why are you trying to apologize to me through Yelp?! WTF kind of customer service is that? Why didn't you just call me on the day I left? Or even at least the day after?! You have my file. You know I left, especially since that's what you put on my file. You have video footage of how long I stayed. Why do I have to write a complaint in order for you to then acknowledge this problem? And why the hell are you telling me to call the office to reschedule?! It should have been YOUR job to call to apologize right away and reconcile the problem. Staff is always running late for every appointment, and seems almost unwilling to help patients effectively. The only reason I have been going to this dental office is due to the hygienist Pam G. who does a great job. The office staff, especially receptionists are no good. They'll mess up your appointments and are so rude. You would be standing there waiting and they won't acknowledge you or greet you. This place is notorious for wasting people's time and not honoring appointments at the time they are scheduled. Case in point, went this morning and got there early. Appointment was at 10, they took me back close to 10:30, unacceptable. My regular person was not there to do my cleaning so they had some fill in named Pam. I told her I didn't want the irrigation medication for my gums because I didn't feel i needed it. She proceeded to tell me that most people go to the dentist for cleanings 4 times per year. Not sure what Pam is smoking but that is totally false. She then said in a condescending tone "it's your mouth". Anyway fast forward to the end of the appointment where you have to wait for someone to come into the room to cash you out because apparently the corona virus hangs out at the front desk. Waited 15 minutes for that person and then they tell me I have to pay a $10 PPE fee to which I replied "yeah I am not paying that". The woman than said well you have to and I again replied "yeah I am not paying that". Then she tells me in a rude tone "well we will just send you a bill" to which I replied again "yeah and I won't pay it". The. She sends the office manager in and I explained to her I am not paying their made up little fee as I was never told about it. She waived it. It's not the money it's the principal. Why should I have to pay for you to take safety precautions in your business. You have always had to wear gloves and use masks, you are charging me for what? Maybe it's because your people are not competent enough to see a full schedule of patients. Anyway the place is poorly run and a joke. I have had it and I will be finding an new dentist. read more

Dr. Z is an amazing dentist! He explained everything to me before he did anything and made me feel very comfortable throughout my procedure of getting a filling redone. My nerve was so close to my filling and doing it a second time I thought I would of had to get a root canal but he was very careful and asked me if I was okay every time he drilled my tooth to get the decay under my filling and now I am not numb and there is no pain so therefore he fixed the problem and I don't need a root canal thinking I would of needed it! Worst place ever. I dont think the folks working there know what they are doing. Was there 3 weeks ago for an exam and xray, and a list was printed for stuff to be taken care during next visit. Made an appointment for next visit. Waited an hour after the appointment time to be seen by a dentist. More time was wasted. Another exam was done and another list of the same stuff was printed and told to make another appointment or it be hours to get stuff done on the same day. What a bunch of monkeys working there. I got a cleaning done here and the hygienist was very polite and professional. The dentist was polite and professional also. The office staff was horrible, no phone calls, no follow up, never verified insurance, I had to beg for approvals and the work to be done after my insurance company sent it several times. Same problem here. My wife went in and they told her that she had to do a special cleaning procedure that wouldn't be covered by my insurance. We are supposed to get 2 free prophylaxis cleanings per year, but they refuse to do this type of cleaning, opting for one that would cost us $95 dollars. They were also very rude and acted offended that I wanted to get a free cleaning. I'm going to look for a dentist that treats people like humans, not oil fields to be extracted. read more

Gentle dental has been a huge problem for me and my family. We recently moved to Florida to find out only a select few dentists cover our insurance. We call over 3 weeks ago to make an appointment and did just that. My wife has been in severe pain and we called to see if we could get a sooner appointment. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and had no regard for a potential new patient. She said that the office was closed on Friday as we come to find out that was a fallacy. This was the most unprofessional experience that we have ever has with a so called "Dentists office." Our appointment has been canceled due to their negligence. Ridiculous thing to endure while enduring endless pain of dental problems. I would rather work on my significant others teeth then let her to go This half of a dentist that probably studied in the Bahamas anyway. I'll do my due diligence in maintaining a short review. This establishment has a friendly staff. However, they are crooks. They hunted me down for a copay that I later found out was not needed. Big deal $10. I've been regular to my dentist, twice a year for almost forever. Insurance changed and decided to come here based off a co workers reference. My previous dentist has always commended me for taking great care of my teeth. Always received just a basic cleaning. NEVER Anything else. As soon as the dentist comes in, she tells me that I DEFINITELY need a deep cleaning. That she can't do basic because I ABSOLUTELY need a deep cleaning. Absurdity I thought. Fast forward a year later, my new dentist smile dental, tells me my teeth are in great condition. My gums are solid and they couldn't imagine why any dentist would advise me to get a deep cleaning. I was in the office on Nov 4 to get a filling done. A week later I returned with my husband and advised I had severe pain in the tooth to the point I could not eat and the throbbing pains would wake up out my sleep. The doctor took a look and noticed a slight issue. Attempted to correct issue. Here it is November 24 and I am still experiencing that throbbing pain which is causing an ear ache. This is a BUSINESS not a Practice. Stay away from this chain. All very professional and courteous but they are a machine out to sell you everything you don't need. The extra expensive cleaning and high prices for everything else so if you do have insurance your charges are still as much as if you paid cash. Never a fan of the dentist I was pleasantly surprised with the service and the Dr. I had to have a bit of work done but found the experience pretty pleasant considering the amount of work i had done, no pain, no overcharging or unnecessary work. Sage Dental likes to charge you your co-pay/ pt. responsibility before submitting the claim to your insurance company. They will not render services until the patient pays the overcharged amount. It happened to me. They made me pay $100 deposit and $65 copay, when my pt responsibility for that day was only $85!!! I always pay upfront without any hesitation. $0.00 balance. My son was just denied services because I would rather wait until I receive my explanation of benefit, letting me know what my pt. responsibility is. Why would I allow them to possibly overcharge me again??? They're so money hungry it's disgusting! read more
