This is an absolute disgrace to any restaurant serving dosa. With the name itself, you would expect a high standard in the dosa department. Went there on a weekday around 4pm, was completely empty so figured would be a quick stop to eat. We ordered the chili noodles and a rava masala dosa. It took almost 35-40 mins or more for the other to even come, and no apology for the wait whatsoever. The noodles dish i think has more red and green peppers than noodles itself, taste wise was okay, a bit salty though. Now the dosa - this was an absolute disgrace to DOSA. i think i could have made something far more delicious at home with the boxed packet dosas than this. It did not even taste close to a dosa. The sambar was ehh also. Highly disappointed and will NOT be going back. ever. read more

We went there on a rainy day as we had been there before, however the experience this time was absolutely disappointing!!! We understand that mistakes always happen as to err is human, however how we respond to the situation clearly matters. Let me get to the point: we ordered some starters and one of them was veg spring roll, when our daughter was about to eat it, we noticed that it had hair on it, when we brought it to their attention, both the waitress and the owner took it inside to the kitchen, but did not even come back and explain what happened or how they plan to rectify, when i called them again, the waitress tells me that there are no hair on the other rolls, even though she didnt even bother to see or check the other rolls on the plate I was pretty disappointed and looked at the owner who then gives me an expression that these things do happen and didnt bother to do anything, i clearly told them that j would pay but to trash the entire plate as i was not comfortable to give the remaining pieces to my kid... they then come and offer me a small piece of roll as an alternative which just infuriated me to no end, as they just didnt feel like t was a blatant mistake on their part to serve food with hair on it I politely paid the bill and walked away with the clear disappointment that this is not a place we would ever visit or recommend others to visit ever again read more

Their maysore masala dosa was Awesome! I have never had a dosa like their's.If you go there you must try it. Loved their sarson ka saag makai ki roti onion kulcha gobhi qeema. Service definitely needs a little help. Please remember the folks are here to be wowed not just by the food but by the service too. Try a little harder for service that is speedier and friendlier and it will help. As for the food, the batada vada were the best i have had in a long time. Very light and crispy outside and perfectly tasty inside filling. The recommendation is stick with the Punjabi entrees over the South Indian. The chefs must be north Indian and the Punjabi food was tasty and delicious. But the dosas are not up to standard dosa fare. We recommend you try out the amazing Punjabi dishes and you'll be much happier. read more

My favorite and go-to indian restaurant! Their food is always fresh and delicious, and they are quick to prepare your order. I usually get pick up and it never disappoints. Occasionally they do forget to add in onions or raita on the side though. But their curries are creamy and tasty. Mango lassi is good too. Some favorites - aloo gobi, navrattan korma, paneer makhani, veg biryani, and more. I have eaten here in store before and it is clean and the staff are friendly. Reasonably priced and great quality indian food! Recommend! Also it is all vegetarian so don't expect any meat options! read more

This is one of our family's favorite spots to pick up sabzis, eggless cookies for my mom and al sorts of Indian treats. The food is great, the people behind the counters always have such a positive and smiling personality. This establishment is an asset to the hillside ave restaurants. Came here with my mom one day, and we ordered the bhel puri chaat. It took a very long time for them to prepare the order and it looked like they just stuffed the container with the Chana masala they already had out so I'm not sure what the wait was for. The service was unfriendly and inefficient, with no apology for the wait or anything. The chaat was oily and nothing special at all. the portion size was half of the container, I could get a completely stuffed one with much better quality down the block. From the outside the place looked shiny and clean, so I went in with my 2 kids. We were in the mood for some chaat and were surprised at the freshness of the food. Sagar Ratna is utter disgrace place. I was disgusted by the attitude of the owner. My uncle went to there establishment since they were in need of a person to wash dishes. They didn't just want the person to wash dishes but they expected them to sweep the floors, mop, and clean the bathroom and etc. What disgusted me the most was he wanted someone to work for 12 hours a day for six days for the pay of $400 a week. How do you run a business like this knowing your paying your workers way below the minimum wage. read more

With my position always yelping sum yum yum for my tum tum. Had a hankering for indian. So when surveying the abundant competition came across sagar ratna. Strictly veggie which is not my usual love my meat. But I do dig vegan as well. I'm south indian so nice to see that they have traditional south indian dishes as well. They have a big variety for every palate. Like the fact owner was invested and gave fan favorites suggestion and his own. Food was hot and decent portion. Had Masala Dosa , Vegetable Manchurian, Punjabi Samosa as well as Mango Lassi which they forgot and had to come back and redeliver. Food was fresh felt masala dosa should of had more filling sambar a little too watery but good flavor. Manchurian needs firmer balls. But all in all good. Also they didn't water down the chutney which as welcome change. Only issue delivery expensive $25 to deliver minimum ridiculous but in line with rest of indian joints in town. Also check your order after having to order $25 and then have missing stuff shaves off a star. Really 3.5 stars but round up in this case. So definitely try them out! read more

Seeing the other reviews, I went there with my family today. While the presentation was beautiful, the taste did not live up to our expectations. We ordered Vegetable Uttapam, Sagar Special Paneer Dosa, Masala Dosa and Pani Puri. The dosas did not even taste fresh. The Paneer Dosa was a complete mess. Although it did look quite nice! The Paneer just fell off the Dosa and tasted like it came from a frozen foods package. The batter may have gone sour from over fermentation. The Uttapam was actually okay in terms of freshness and taste (like a 4/5 in comparison to everything else). The pani puri... Well... It was not at all like the pani puri is supposed to taste like. Would I recommend this place to anyone? Not at all for the South Indian portion of their menu. read more

Very clean mom and pop restaurant. North Indian items are very good to excellent; did not try South Indian. Service is not super quick, however,I do NOT agree with some other reviewers that it is slow. Some dishes do take time and I never waited more than 8 minutes and I've been to the restaurant many times on different occasions at different times of day. read more

Clean, friendly and family oriented. Food tasted great. We had their shahi paneer and vegetable manchurian and it was very tasty. Did wish the manchurian portion size was a little bigger but the taste made up for it. The time given for preparation was accurate. Will definitely be going back to try more stuff. read more
