We're staying in an Airbnb down the road from the restaurant and have eaten there three times in 2 weeks. The food was very consistent and the choices of items extensive. The naan bread is incredible and the staff were very polite and helpful explaining the dishes to us. I'de give this a solid 10 out of 10!

I think the place tends to be overlooked because it's not near the centre of the town, but it's well worth the extra distance. The food is presented rather carefully and creates a range of flavours rarely found elsewhere. More extravagant dishes include local rabbit and some less common fish dishes, but the standard madras, tikka masala and jalfrezi, and others, are all on offer. There is also a large dessert menu, itself uncommon at curry houses, most of which are traditional Indian or Pakistani sweets, rather than attempts to satisfy the western taste. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with modern furniture and decorations that hint at the east but never impose. The fine touches make the difference here, such as unusual bottles of water that resemble large test tubes, outstandingly smart waiting staff, and the use of gloves when laying tables to prevent marks on the cutlery. One would be forgiven for thinking that the restaurant is pretentious, but the staff are welcoming and friendly. The prices are on the high side for a curry house, but this is truly fine curry, and the price of the food is a fair reflection of the skill and care that has gone into producing it. The only small complaint here is that the hand dryers in the toilets are extremely loud and do intrude on your dinner if sitting near to the toilets, but this is not enough to be a serious distraction to an excellent dining experience.

We were desperate for some food upon arriving by foot at our Airbnb to find out that we couldn't snag a spot at the only restaurant in town (and didn't have the energy to hike another five miles one way just before dark to get dinner). Luckily, our host offered to get us carryout from here. We had the daal, ginger garlic, rice and chicken tikka masala. It hit the spot after a long day of fourteen miles of hiking- we were so hungry. The garlic naan wasn't the best we've had but the daal (a bit dry/low on flavor) and masala hit the spot. The price (19 pounds for everything) wasn't too shabby either.

Although the price was high, you get what you pay for; top notch service and delicious contemporary Indian cuisine. Perfect venue for an important date or special occasion. I was visiting good friends in Cheltenham and they took me here on my first night to celebrate. We did the tasting menu with a bottle of wine. It was course-after-course of exquisite contemporary Indian dishes. The portions are enough to satisfy and the final course was a grilled type of salmon that melted into my mouth. I explained to the host upon arrival that I didn't eat red meat, pork or chicken and they customized my tasting menu to fit my specific request - pescatarian. Overall great service, elegant atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff and superb cuisine.

We couldn't book for 8 pm, and accepted 9 pm. Staff were attentive, no one had starters, we did have poppadums (70p each, and tray of diced onions, etc., £2.00 extra) I had Naga Chicken - Hot chilli from Bangladesh cooked with onions, capsicum, and fresh coriander and herbs - The flavour was fine even with the hot chilli (which I like), however the onions were more like mush, and very little chicken, I think I counted 4 small pieces. This made me disappointed. Wife had Chicken Madras, and found this hotter than the one she normally has from Redolence Spice, but very nice. Again, very little chicken. Daughter had Chicken Makhani - She felt this was more like a Korma, rather than similar to butter chicken. She wasn't impressed, felt that the Redolence Spice offering was better. Again, very little chicken. Son had Chicken Tikka Dhansak - Very nice, but lacked the chicken. So, a general theme of lack of chicken..... I wished I'd been asked about my meal at the end rather than when I had just started. A generous person, in our party, paid for the whole lot. The place was packed downstairs, and is was very narrow to walk through to get upstairs to our table. It was the same upstairs, and I felt sorry for the couple in the corner behind us, who seemed to be crammed in... I just felt a bit claustrophobic. Would I go back again? Possibly, but I'd mention the meat issue before I ordered.
