Most new cashiers have robot like attitude . Prices on some items very over priced.. example- croutons. Bakery goods are very expensive.. I go to a specialized bakery shop now-comparative prices, but better quality and certainly fresher (especially baked goes). And simple not as friendly as used to be.. Love this Safeway! It's not HuGe like other grocery stores that take forever to shop inside, but it's still big enough to have everything you need. Management and staff truly care about customer experience. The Deli has tons of healthy new options, even trendy things like turkey meatballs and turkey meatloaf. Meat department has fresh chicken and meat dinners, all seasoned with veggies, just pop in the oven. Great healthy alternative to gross microwave dinners. Bakery has high end, made in store delectable treats, like premium cupcakes. The Airmiles program is hands down the best consumer loyalty program. Many days you can get 100 airmiles for just spending $100. Over the last few years we've taken multiple flights just because of the amazing offers. Safeway customer for LIFE!!! read more

We have been shopping at Safeway for 50 years in Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC. Today, we made the decision to stop shopping at Safeway. We used to shop at the Safeway on 43 Ave and highway 97. However, the the past 6 months the manager has insisted on reducing the size of the aisles by displaying more merchandise on the floor, at the ends of the counters and in shopping carts in the middle of the aisles. We (and others) have talked to the store manager but he will not listen. We like the store and the staff. Doug read more
