I stopped in the other day to purchase a bottle of sparkling wine or Champagne, as well as a small bottle of Peach Schnapps with which to make Bellinis. The Peach Schnapps was priced appropriately around $6.00. Everything else however, not so cheap. Just by glancing around, I could tell that everything sold here is priced about $3.00 more than the same bottle I could purchase back home. For some bottles, such as the Chandon sparkling wine that I purchased, the mark-up was about $7.00! I paid $22.00 for that Chandon, where back home I could get it for about $15 maybe $17 at the absolute most. Such is the setback of traveling without your own booze. The gentleman working the store was friendly enough and pretty helpful as far as educating me as to where I could find what types of alcohol in the area. I would return as it is basically next door to our chalet, and I probably won't have much choice if I run out of booze before I depart!
