Unfortunately, not the first time we've had issues with this company. This last one the straw that broke the camels back though. They showed up, started the job and said there was too much rust around the window frame to complete the job. In the process of removing the trim, they damaged the windshield further and then just left it left it as is. We will never use Safelite again nor recommend them. read more

I had my windshield replaced here last Friday, and afterward my passenger sun visor was suddenly loose -- something that has never happened in the entire time I've owned the car. No one told me anything came loose during the install; I had to discover it myself when I got home, which is completely inappropriate. When I brought it back, the manager claimed they "don't even touch that part of the car" and tried to blame my aftermarket sunglass holder, even though the visor was perfectly fine for over a year with it. The visor only broke after their work. They said they'd order a part from Subaru and call me when it arrived, but it's been a week with no updates at all. Poor communication and zero accountability. I just want my visor fixed and to stop getting blamed for damage that clearly happened during their install. read more

The Safelite in Salinas California destroyed my car, and I have not had a functioning navigation system in my new Honda pilot for over a month. Safelite in Salinas already got the bad review for ruining my car, and I was told to go to Safelite in Prescott to fix it. What a mistake!! We've had two appointments. The appointments were not timely, they were over a week. In both cases, we drove over an hour to get to the appointments. We took two cars because there is absolutely nothing to do there for over four hours which is how long it takes them each time they have a car. In both cases, they claim they can't put in a new windshield and they can't fix the navigation system! Blamed the Safelite in Salinas for screwing up the first windshield and they said it couldn't be fixed because they did such a bad job. The second time, we drove all the way out there and they told us they don't have the windshield. Why did they not call me and tell me (rather than waste my time and my husband's time and the gas for two people to drive out there). Based on the feedback, this is their modus operandi, they don't call their customers. They let their customers waste their time and money and they don't do anything! I've now driven almost 2000 miles without cruise control and I have had it. My husband has to drive another two hours to pick up a new windshield somewhere else because the latest Safelight excuse is there is a shortage of windshields. Then he's going to have to drive another two hours to take it to a Honda dealership so they can install it correctly and give me my cruise control and safety features back. I don't care if my insurance says I have to use Safelite again, I will never use them again. What a disaster. Not even an apology for wasting six weeks of my life. No reimbursement for the amount of gas we've spent driving there. No reimbursement for having to go to a competent company to get this done. read more

I called and made an appointment for a windshield replacement. I made an appointment for replacement two weeks out, as that is what they had available. I received updates as the day approached regarding the appointment time. The day of my appointment, they called me at 6:30 am to let me know that the windshield didn't come in. It was disappointing, but I figured they had little control over that. I rescheduled with them for the next Monday, a week later. Again, the morning of that appointment, I received another call that my windshield had not come in. I am beyond disappointed. What a total waste of time! On top of that, I feel that they are way overpriced. I'm actually glad they did not service my car, as I found another place that got me scheduled in two days with service at my home. I called the (800) number for Safelite and they scheduled an appointment for me at the Prescott location. I wasn't even aware that my insurance would replace my windshield. I actually never even called my insurance company the Safelite representative handled everything over the phone for me. All I had to do was show up for my appointment at the Prescott location. The moment I walked in the door I was promptly greeted and within 5 minutes my truck was in the shop. About an hour later my windshield was replaced and I was on the road. I sincerely appreciate the customer service from the Safelite phone representative and the entire friendly and professional team at the Safelite Prescott location. Have a Blessed day !!! read more

Safelite was recommended by my insurance company, and easy to schedule with. Repair person was on time, however scratched my paint and left the trim a mess. When I asked for this to be repaired before they left, the install person said he was only helping in the area and didn't have the correct supplies, so recommended I call the local office - which I did, and never heard back. Within 8 months, my windshield got a ding which quickly turned into a foot long crack - so had to be replaced again. I can't help but wonder if the install made my windshield weak, and cracked easier because of it. Needless to say, I didn't use Safelite for the replacement and do not recommend them. read more

I was referred to Safelite auto glass by my insurance company, Progressive. Attempting to work with Safelite was utterly confounding. I called the number and was referred immediately to an online quoting system that decided one tiny windshield chip would set me back $119. I found no option to speak with a representative, and there was no discussion about whether my insurance would entitle me to coverage. I had been told by a trusted advisor not to pay any more than $50 for a windshield chip repair, so I knew that this was an outlandish claim. I looked for a local company and found Gecko auto glass here in Prescott. Lori was extremely helpful, even calling my insurance company with me on the phone to determine my eligibility. Not only was a fully covered such that my windshield repair happened at no cost to me, but they were able to come directly to my lodging place and to fix it within 10 minutes! Folks, no matter what your insurance company tells you, do not use Safelite auto glass. This is a total racket! If you are local in Prescott, Arizona I highly recommend going to Gecko auto glass. You will not be disappointed. With a Safelite, however, you will get nonexistent customer service and an overpriced quote without any support to find out what's best for you. read more

This company is as unprofessional as it gets. I was scheduled to have my windshield replaced during a 5 hour time frame. I cancelled plans for that afternoon and made myself available. I received a phone call letting me know that the glass didn't come in, but that it would be in the following morning and I was scheduled for the next day. Again, I cancelled plans to make sure I was available. When nobody showed up or called, I reached out to the tech that called the previous day. He had no idea who I was and said I wasn't on the schedule. He told me to text him my name and he would look into it. I texted him my name with a screenshot of the voicemail he left the day before. He finally got back to me and told me he couldn't do it, but could get me on the schedule the next day. This company and their scheduling department is a joke. They take no responsibility and didn't care when I cancelled the order. I'm going with a smaller local company that was more than happy to get my business. Safelight wasted my time, wasted my money, and will never get my business again. read more

I had a very good experience here getting two little chips in my windshield repaired. I have never had to have a chip repair before so this was new to me. I have coverage with my auto insurance and the insurance company works directly with Safelite. Actually, it was Safelite that told me this when I came in about a month ago and had them take a look at my windshield. They said that the chip was repairable and simply to call my insurance company and schedule through them. It was easy to make a claim and an appointment all with one phone call to my insurance company. They set up the time directly with Safelite within two days of the time I called in. I arrive today at my appointment time and they were ready to check me in and start the repair immediately. The customer service woman friendly, and there was no 'red tape.' I handed over my keys and had a seat The technician came in after a quick inspection and said the wait could be 30 minutes because I actually had two chips in my windshield today. He offered me a cold water or hot Kuerig beverages and assortment of snacks if I wanted, while I waited, and immediately went to work. I didn't check my watch but the repair did not take the full 30 minutes. Chip repairs are done by pressure filling the damaged spot with a resin that keeps the chip from cracking further and spreading, which can requiring your windshield to be replaced. You can still see the chip spot a little, but it's not as bad as before they fill it. The technician showed me the repair handed me my keys, and I was on my way. All-in-all everything went really well. read more

The Manager Billy of the Prescott location was very professional. Up to and including me telling him I will never recommend his shop to anyone ever again. The owner has failed in providing Billy with the proper tools to take care of mistakes young folks make. The owner has completely limited Billy from being able to do his job. I had a windshield replaced on a 1995 Corvette. It is not a typical job. Billy explained to me that the job should not have been given to the technician that got the job as he was not qualified to do such a complicated job. I understand that technicians need to learn from experience and I support that. However; after the job was done and 4 days later I inadvertently got a shower in the car wash due to the seal no sealing the windshield. I called Safelite to file a warranty claim, as the work done by the unqualified technician's work flooded my just fully restored interior. I requested to have a review of the work in the shop to discuss faulty work in person as to provide an opportunity to make corrections and train the young technicians for experience. Billy sadly was only able to tell me that he could only replace the NON-OEM windshield seal with the same NON-OEM seal that does not work. He also recognized the bent trim work that his "unqualified" technician should never have even touched, but bent when he did remove it. I explained to Billy that I have the ability to order OEM seals myself. He stated he did not have the authority to purchase any item without the owner's permission, but if I purchased it he could have it installed (by the same unqualified technicians) for me. I also explained to Billy in the presence of one of the young technicians that did the work that they did not even use "Christmas tree" pins to reattach the windshield seal. His young technician lacked the integrity to take responsibility for his mistake. Unfortunately for him I had taken pictures and retained the piece of plastic used to simply fill a hole. I myself had to purchase the appropriate "Christmas tree" pins to correct this error. At this point my lack of trust in this location and inability to not only complete the work properly initially, but also their lack of ability to correct mistakes, I simply ordered the OEM seal via my cell phone while in the company of Billy. I let him know the OEM seal was ordered and I will not allow any of his unqualified technicians to touch any of my vehicles. I also informed him that I would make sure to share my very disappointing experience with Safelite Prescott Arizona. I highly recommend you refuse to allow their "unqualified" technicians to do any work on your vehicles. Magic glass here I come! Getting chips and dings on your windshield on Arizona roads is normal. What's perplexing is going to a repair shop for a scheduled appointment and finding out that the replacement windshield is cracked the day I roll up for the repair. No phone call before I got there. No checking the day before from the shop to ensure the glass was ok? So..I have to reschedule. Who's in charge? Additional comment. The Receptionist should be more friendly. Its nice if she looks at the customer and greet him or her. Reception area is a tomb an very uninviting. No thanks from the receptionist for picking Safelite when all is done. We I attempted to contact one all I got was a recording telling me to book An Appt online. Also the cost for repairing a stone chip exceeded $100. A new crack 6" meant I needed a new windshield. The local Safelite branch was easy to work with. I made a claim through my insurance and was linked immediately to the Safelite scheduling web site. That was a really easy process. Of course, the technician came to our house as scheduled and the windshield looks great. My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the tape they use to hold the glass in place for curing is REALLY sticky. I am going to have to use a chemical to remove the tape and glue I could not get off. The last time I had a replacement installed, they used something similar to blue painter's tape which came off much more easily. That said, I can highly recommend Safelite. read more

Ive gone with safelite for years because I thought they were the only ones that travel to me. The last couple of windshields I've gone somewhere else though. You absolutely cannot call individual branches and have to go through the website in order to get an appointment. Even tried calling the 800 number and all it does is tells you to go to the website. Then, I find someone new and get charged over half off for the same quality window and they came to me. Goes to show you the big corps don't give a crap. read more

I had my truck windshield replaced and later noticed the cab liner was coming off the top of the cab by the replaced windshield and some weatherstripping was flopping on the passenger exterior at the bottom of the windshield (I was told this is something that can be fixed when the technician comes to do the repair. The day before Thanksgiving I went by their office and the technician took pictures, said he would talk to the manager about the issue. No one contacted me. I then, after several attempts to find a local phone number for Safelite scheduled a site visit to my home. The technician came out and took some pictures and said he would have the manager contact me. I have not heard from a soul at Safelite. It appears to me they are content receiving money from the insurance companies but have little concern for customer service. If I have future windshield replacement needs, I will do business with a local business and not Safelite. read more

While the installation was done well, the customer service was terrible. I booked a reservation to have my windshield replaced and I showed up for my appointment early. After about 1/2 hour I was informed they didn't have a windshield and the would order one from the dealer. They knew that there was no windshield for at least 24 hours prior to my appointment and didn't bother to call me and let me know. I was told they would call me when the windshield was in so I could make an appointment for the replacement. After not hearing from them After a week, I called and spoke the representative who told me I failed to show up for an appointment that was never made. What a way to treat a customer. I finally got the windshield with a late appointment. Not only did they waste my time they tried to blame me for their lack of customer service, and they lied about a missed appointment. This is the last time I will use Safelite and will my insurance company know of the terrible customer service. read more

I loved my experience getting my windshield replaced. The staff was beyond exceptional and each one of them was nice. I scheduled my appointment online and got an email within the hour confirming my appointment. The receptionist up front was beyond nice and helpful once I told her I was paying out of pocket instead of going through my insurance. The technicians not only replaced my window in under an hour, they cleaned each of my windows as well as vacuumed each of my seats and front mats. Put the glass in my mazda mx-5 miata and lost a part for the cowling. Had to fix my wiper blade and I still have to clean up the sticker residue off the windshield. I was going to go get the part for the cowling and they offered to pay for it with a P O and which did but the store manager didn't tell anyone about it and the dealership ended up giving me the part for wholesale which was nice but as for safelite if they were the only place in the world I would drive with the broken windshield. read more

My mom's 2017 Honda Pilot got a cracked windshield. Both she and I have used this Safelite AutoGlass shop in the past. So, we thought why not use them again. The only downside from my mom's previous use was a big mess the technician left from his shoes that took hours to clean up. My last experience the technician scuffed my glovebox. Which, thank goodness after deep cleaning I was able to get it off. Since the car was a lease. Well, after the visit on August 13th. I can definitely say we will never use this shop again. The technician left such a deep scratch on my mom's glovebox. After reading over their pamphlet they give you at the end, to see if anything could be done. It says they aren't liable for any damages to your car. They really need to have teams do instillations. Clearly one technician can't do the job without damaging you vehicle. Warning to all that plan on using them, you may want to bubblewrap your glovebox. So this doesn't happen to you. read more
