This review is for English Cousins! She worked with me on developing my first tattoo! It was a larger shoulder piece and i am so happy with it and how well it has healed. Scheduling with her was easy, I just sent her a photo of a floral piece I had seen her do that i liked the placement of, and then a photo of the florals I wanted pictured. The day I came in she showed me what she had drawn up to make sure I liked it and I did! For my piece we moved to do two sessions rather than going for a full day session, especially with me being a twitchy first timer. Once I was in the chair, English was super friendly, warm, and communicative! The environment is super nice as well. Everything was clean and their style is so unique! They did have some incense going in the tattoo room, and it began to give me a headache (I'm super prone to migraines) and English turned it off without making me feel silly. An oasis in the desert of the tattoo parlors many of us have unfortunately come to expect. No stuck-up "we're better than you" attitudes here and not a "oh how cute you're getting your first tattoo ya dumb newbie" side-eye in sight. From the front of house to the artists to the owner himself, both my wife AND I experienced nothing but 110% professionalism, kindness, levity, and a genuine excitement to be apart of our pieces. Josh the manager was awesome and responded to our initial inquiry very quickly and even redirected us to an artist better suited for the tattoos we wanted than the original artist we chose. Adam Jackson, our artist, was utterly phenomenal. By far the nicest, friendliest, most talented and down-to-earth artist I have ever experienced. His line work and attention to detail left us ecstatic with the finished pieces and eager to rebook with him again. My wife and Daughter have been planning on getting tattoos for over a year, and we literally found this place on a whim while we were just walking through the old Marathon Motors factory. As luck would have it, they had time to get both of them done, and it was a great experience. Now, I should preface that with some disclosure about my daughter. SHE HATES NEEDLES. Not a little bit, a LOT! To be fair, Adam didn't know this going in so he kinda drew the short straw I guess but he was AWESOME. He was very patient and reassuring to her and talked her all the way through it. Chris had a much easier time with my wife, and he did a great job. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time left for me to get what I wanted, but I can wait. It was enough that my wife as daughter both had a great experience. If you have never had a tattoo before (especially if you are hesitant about needles) you probably aren't going to find a better place to go. read more

This was as good as I could have wanted in an experience. I have had numerous other tattoos, but the entire experience for these were fantastic. I emailed the Safe House and, based on what I wanted, they directed me to the best artist for it who communicated back and forth with me on what I wanted, examples, pricing, timing, etc. It was very smooth and the artist, Adam, was very helpful and professional and really helped me solidify everything. On the day of, he again went over everything, making sure that it was exactly right before any real work started. He was friendly, affable, professional and above all *excellent*. I walked out of there with a huge smile on my face for it. Overall, the place was clean, organized and welcoming and I know exactly where I will be going to again when I get my next ones! Totally awesome, hidden little gem. I got a tattoo on a Wednesday afternoon by Eli (sp) who was open to my idea when I explained it over the phone and said "come on in and we can figure it out together." I showed up with 4 friends, who he let all come back with me since it wasn't crowded. After him and I brainstormed on some different fonts, he got in me a chair right away, was very professional and personable and talented. He finished in 10 minutes and it looked awesome! I have gotten all of my other tattoos back home in Denver, and trying to find a good place in Nashville was intimidating. But a friend recommended this place and it was the best choice! Great folks make for a great vibe! There is NO BS here! The shop is clean and the guys are professional yet fun! Chip(per) is the man when is comes to watercolor style tattoos. I live here in Nashville and was willing to travel anywhere in the country to get exactly what I wanted. After an extensive search I realized I didn't have to even leave the state! If you are going to spend several hours under a tattoo machine this is the place to do it. There is nothing like feeling at home when you're having something so personal done. Chipper Harbin is an artistic genius. I've been getting tattooed by him now for two years and to say I've been impressed is an understatement. With little direction and some picture references, he has created work that is stunning and profound. He is incredibly talented and able to interpret my ideas like no one I've ever seen. After doing a little research I found Safe House Tattoo. I looked through the artists and their work online and then I sent an email to Chip. I described what I was looking to get, and sent a couple of pictures. By the next day Chip had responded with his availability. I chose a time-slot that worked best for me and emailed him back. The communication leading up to the appointment was great, I even got a reminder email. When I arrived at Safe House the day of my appointment Chip was ready to get started. I was so nervous getting my first tattoo, but there were so many pros to coming to this tattoo parlor. The first thing I liked was how clean it was. It really put me at ease knowing this. Not only that, but I was nervous on how good the tattoo was going to be having never received one before. After emailing back and forth, they set up an appointment. I brought the handwritten lyrics, which they recreated PERFECTLY, and they made the state of Tennessee on my arm perfectly as well. Chip gave my wife her first tattoo yesterday. He also did some work on a couple of existing tattoos that I already had. He does the best work I have ever saw. To say that I am pleased is an understatement. He gave two tired looking tattoos that I had a new life. Absolutely incredible. He made my wife feel so at ease and comfortable. Visited this studio for the first time yesterday! Absolutely loved it, everyone is so friendly and won't hesitate to come up and talk to you. It's clean and not cluttered. I just got my first tattoo on Saturday, and it was the best experience I could have hoped for! Safe House was awesome. I followed them on IG and had divine intervention on a day I had some open time when they posted that they had time for walk ins. I called and the receptionist was friendly, prompt, and helpful. I was scheduled with Jordan Brill and he did an amazing job. I showed him a few inspo pics and in 20 minutes, he sketched up exactly what I had in mind. He was super friendly and easy to talk to, and I LOVE my new tattoo. I came to Safe House Tattoo for a watercolor tattoo of flowers from Chip. Chip came up with an unexpected and unique design, which made me feel as though I was receiving a personalized tattoo. I couldn't be happier with the result and I consider my tattoo/experience to have been well worth the expense. Given that this was my first tattoo, I was very unsure of what to expect beforehand, but Chip and the other staff members there made me feel assured and comfortable. I chose Safehouse for my first tattoo and reached out to their artist, Ben Ritchie with a request and some examples of what I wanted to have done. His work on instagram was in line with my interest in mandala/geometric work. Ben worked with me when I got there to make sure I was comfortable with my piece. Living in nashville we're really lucky to have access to top of the line art and artists. After extensive research i booked with chip. My tat is amazing, thank you chip!!!!!! And he's got such a great touch,i honestly didn't feel any discomfort at all. Also it was custom designed so I'm the only one with his original art.
