As the special guest, I was able to go in and out of the GUEST Station where there was Laundry Machines and Bathrooms but was locked out from other rooms. Entrance needs a special password which is "*****". FYI, It's a word related to Lobster. :P As I wake up to a BEAUTIFUL morning around 7 am, I took a stroll to get a better glimpse of this Lobster Boat area and it was a great view all to myself with only a couple Fisherman setting out. Road travel isn't free as I helped unload and pack some FRESH Lobsters in return for the 11+ hour ride. This Hingham Shipyard area is on the side of a NEW-ISH plaza with various Restaurants & Shops. Futher down the Marina of Casual Boaters is where a Ferry Boat awaits its passengers.

(no offense...I've been known to be gritty from time to time, and I'm a HUGE fan of Kelly's in Revere, so lay off and read on, bitches). I have been a regular at the Scituate Harbor Marina for longer than I can remember, since many, many family members are Scituate residents. Scituate is a beachy, laid back, very welcoming town on the ocean. You slow down from the hustle and bustle (hate that term, but you get it) when you come here. You know when you get closer to the marina, as your car tells you it's 5-10 degrees cooler from the sweltering heat of the city. The marina has a large parking lot. I have never had a problem parking there. The marina itself is very clean, as the harbormasters do a fabulous job, and are friends of the community. I have many family members who have had boats at this marina for years and years...they have never had ANY problems here as far as safety, noise control, cleanliness. From what I've learned... 1. There is a waiting list to get a slip for a boat here, so sign up before you're ready. 2. Get your reservation asap to launch your boat in the early summer, as those slots fill up quick. 3. No need to bring anything, as there is a grocery store, a Dunkin Donuts, many stores to buy clothes/bathing suits, a CVS, 2 banks, pet stores, bars, restaurants, a yoga shop, a liquor store, pizza shops all within walking distance. 4. The best time to check out the place is coming up in 2 weeks...the first weekend in August is Harborfest....there's an amusement park set up in the parking lot, lots of vendors selling food/crafts/jewelry/art etc, bands in the street, and fireworks at night. 5. Go down during low tide and head to the Spit...a quick boat ride to a sandbar full of parties. Dogs are allowed, and food and alcohol are a must-

The views of the city are amazing night or day. Although you are next to Logan Airport there is zero plane noise. The docks are spacious compared to Constitution Marina. You are so close to the outer and inner harbor and the harbor islands. You are also one block from the Mavericks Tstop on the blue line for easy access to downtown Boston or you can take a water taxi which stops here. Easy access to Logan Shuttle at the Hyatt next door. If you have kids, this is next to Piers Park which is a great Park for swings slides and water fountains. The facilities are OK. Not great but not bad. If they could update their bathrooms/showers/laundry facility the place would be five stars. The manager and staff are very friendly and responsive. One bonus is the Australian restaraunt called KO Pies onsight is such a treat. I can't imagine having my boat anywhere else in Boston.

We anticipated on receiving the boat for over 4 month since attending the New England Boat Show back in February. My dad was so excited for the fishing season. We showed up to pick up our boat and shocked it was missing the essential necessities we specifically requested and agreed upon at the show. The owner, Wally, was insultingly dishonest and didn't own up to the fact he messed up our work order. He basically didn't process the work order correctly and built the wrong boat. Can't believe he was just going to deliver the incorrect boat to us! He told us he could easily sell this boat to another customer if we don't want it (at full price probably) because he didn't want to honor the discount we agreed to at the show. He accused us of never ordering the t-top cover and any of the color request we wanted - classic bait and switch. If you're considering purchasing a boat from them, i would HIGHLY recommend you to think again. Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, disrespect and time. There's so many other options out there. I hope they don't bother attending next year's boat show since they can't deliver the correct final product.

(Review of the marina's houseboat rentals, not the marina or boat repair service.) For houseboat…read morerentals, Boston Bay Marina turned out to be an awesome alternative to a hotel. We rented 2 of their houseboats, Andromeda and Lyra, for a college graduation weekend. (There's also at least one much bigger houseboat and others of similar size.) Each sleeps six: two in a stateroom, two in the loft over the stateroom ceiling (uh, deck I think it's called), two on a pull-out sofa. Two decks outside, upper and lower, with a great view of Boston's working harbor (Chelsea River, Mystic River Bridge). The staff was friendly and fixed a couple minor issues quickly (BBQ grill wouldn't light initially). Our houseboats had one bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) but there are also marina showers for transient boaters who also use the marina. There's electric heat and a pair of air conditioners, TV, iPod dock/speakers, and a refrigerator-sink-electric stove galley (kitchen). East Boston is a rapidly gentrifying part of Boston with condo and townhouse construction coming. You can get to Boston by walking a block, taking the bus 10 minutes to the T (subway) station, and then it's quickly into Boston. The rental includes free water taxi shuttle into Boston a couple times a day plus you can reserve a time slot in advance. The marina also rents pier space to boat owners, transient boats,and has a couple long-term tenants, all giving it a nice charming flavor. You'd expect to hear "Margaritaville" break out at any moment. Our review rating is 4.5 stars rounded up. The boats are clean and work well but you see a couple signs of wear, as you'd expect of boats not maintained by dot-com millionaires. You'll hear some road noise from the McArdle bridge grating. Wifi is free but would benefit from one more repeater. Some renters may (may not will) wish they were renting on fancier Rowe's Wharf but it's likely you'd be paying twice as much. The marina is behind an auto body shop but a) this is the cleanest auto body shop you'll ever see (no wrecks in sight) and b) that also means secure, free parking. Here can you get up early on a Sunday morning to see a glass-smooth harbor and two tugs threading a giant ocean-going ship through Boston Harbor. That was an awesome way to have the day's first cup of coffee. Basically, you're getting a hotel harborside suite with kitchen for half the price of the bricks-and-mortar kind of hotel. Great bang for the buck.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Seaclusion. We had never stayed in a boat before but we had expected that it will not as spacious as a hotel but we had everything we needed. I'd recommend bringing warm PJs on the cooler months as it does get a little chilly at night. The views and location can't be beat. Walking to our boat along the marina at night was super romantic lol I'd definitely come back here on my next visit.
