I've been boating on and off for over 30 years. My family has done everything from trailering, to…read moremoorings, to private slips at yacht clubs and marinas. We based out of Beverly, Salem and Revere. This year we decided to try something closer to Boston. We found Crystal Cove after hearing from friends about the great management and fantastic improvements to the facilities. We called and spoke with Greg and made an appointment to view the marina. The location is absolutely fantastic. It's a sheltered harbor. The drive in is through a wonderful old town style oceanfront community. There were plenty of Restaurants and stores within walking distance, and a few places actually will deliver to your boat in the slip. The marina sports a large parking area which in the winter is used for boat storage. They have a full service repair shop right by the docks. The docks themselves are in very good repair and a keycard is required for access. There is a full service gas dock with very reasonable prices and even ice bags available for coolers. The restrooms have been completely rebuilt and remodeled , are absolutely gorgeous, and include gigantic showers with plenty of room to bring your clothes and change. The only thing I saw potentially missing - and I'd love to see -would be wi-fi availability from on the docks. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, even to their most new customers like me who they all hadn't even met yet. The biggest shock came when we had an engine issue with the outboard on our boat. I was expecting to have to haul the boat and go through tons of hassles to get an unscheduled in season repair done quickly. Nope, the staff at Crystal Cove Marina saved the day and took the worry completely away. They pulled the motor from the boat right at the slip, had it right into the shop, and got it repaired and reinstalled on the boat without any issues at all. They return phone calls, and are excellent at email communications as well. They have discounts for full payment of slips early in the season with rates that are too good to be true this close to Boston at such a great Marina. These folks will work with you to make sure you're a happy customer. They're now even offering discounts on things like Sea Tow memberships.
