Much of what you learn in the in-class portion of your program will be ignored or contradicted in…read morethe in-car lessons - often aggressively, with your instructor shouting at you 'YOU'RE GONNA DIE' (literally, this actually happened to me) or some other snappish criticism. None of the techniques they teach you for low-speed manoeuvres (e.g. parking) work with any car that isn't the driver's ed car, because they don't teach you the principles behind the technique - just a couple of rote instructions that are very specific to certain vehicles. The professionalism of some of their instructors is also very poor. My first instructor kept changing her appointments at the last minute, texted on her phone during my lesson, and had me drive her to various locations so she could complete her personal errands during the time she was supposed to be teaching me. She also had a ton of junk in the backseat of her car during every lesson, which our in-class lessons had specifically said was dangerous. (Seriously - can you not put a 25-pound bag of cat litter in the trunk, instead of right behind the driver's seat?) I know most people aren't zealous about keeping the clutter out of their cars, but it sets a pretty bad example when the instructor can't be arsed to follow the program herself. I wonder, constantly, if my experience with YD is an anomaly, because YD is supposedly one of the best driving schools in the country. Did I just get a bad instructor? Was her replacement unusually bad, too? Or is all the good press about Young Drivers just BS?

The in car lessons were the worst things I've ever had to experience. The instructor that goes by 'vinod', is absolutely rude and so disrespectful. He's demeaning, and makes the whole experience awful. I've been left in tears more times than I can count. He will grab the wheel while you are driving and yell at you. I think he is a terrible instructor and is very biased on his way of driving and will not let you voice any opinion.
