Great baseball field .... my husbands team, "Rapid Solutions" were the 2019 Golden Senior Softball League Champions. The complex has lots of parking, clean bathrooms and a nice snack bar. The baseball fields are well groomed and maintained.

Finally! They got signs telling you where to go!

Been play softball here the past two summers for the Wednesday night mens league, and I haven't really had any complaints about the complex. Theres usually a good amount of parking spaces. Theres a dirt lot just in case the lot is filled to capacity. The fields are decent, and there are plenty of bleacher seats for your supporters to cheer you on as you play. Personally, I hate Field 2. During the summer time, when playing on field 2, you're facing the sun while batting, which can cause a problem because when the pitcher pitches the ball to you, it's kind of difficult to see. At least that's the case for me...maybe I just suck at softball....haha I also noticed this year they have included signs right by the bar area (oh yeah, there is a bar area for your beer and food needs) that indicate where each field is; there are a total of 4 fields. There is also a playground area for kids and volleyball area.

My sanctuary. Stretching in Center Field before the game.

This is a great little complex for softball events. They have plenty of shady spots and their snack bar is very decent.

The fields are average here and the bathrooms are usually pretty dirty. Their snack bar is outrageously priced high. Cheap beer though..

I got french fries from the snack bar and found 4 hairs. I told them and they said that it was not from us it was probably from you.

I would have given it 1 start if it wasn't for the indoor snack bar. Fields are terrible, bathrooms are nasty and staff is not good!

The "snack bar" is a full on room with tables and some arcade games and they have tons of food/drink items.

Extra-OK. Could've been better is a more accurate description…read more Exciting that the home team won but the venue will be happy when everyone has relocated. It feels like a Band-Aid...probably because it is and has been for over a decade. The brand new venue, whenever it shows up https://www.republicstadium.com will hopefully be a good one. Sure, if you can't survive a couple hours without alcohol, you can splurge and sink some earnings in to a beverage and even scarf down some food for a premium. Passed on all that this time. This felt permanently temporary and with good reason- it is. It was exciting to stomp on the metal bleachers when that happened. It also felt like a high school rally where the kiddos would stomp and pout and make as much noise as they could. Found myself applauding because that seemed appropriate at the time but could not understand what seemed like trying to play an instrument with your feet on the metal bleacher. Parking seemed convenient enough. $15 for the evening with a back exit to split when the time came. It will cost more at the new place because this is left over space from a pretty much fallen California Exposition Center. They'll have to pave new lots. Yay. Bathrooms were porta-potties. Most of them were anyways. Yet another permanently temporary band-aid. Let's hope they don't take them out to the new stadium. Food venues looked like leftovers from the fair. Not about that. The "premium" spots gated and guarded by folks who want more money to sit down will hopefully get some real upgrades as opposed to the fancy net protecting them at this place. Had some dudes sing the National Anthem (ooh, anthem time baby!) and a brief half time display. Thanks Rachel, for the scarf. It seemed warm and the stadium was half in the sun upon arrival so shorts and a t-shirt were too much. Sun went down and it got a little chilly so the scarf-ish thing was welcome. "Bonney Field is not meant to be a permanent structure." This is the same place but with new name tags. The quote is from over 11 years ago. Out with the old, in with the new. Not entirely disappointed in going to this old setup (will most likely be the first and last time going here) and not bothered in the least that it's going away.

Surrounding stadium area: Located at Heart Health Park in Cal Expo, the Sac Republic facility is a really nice spot. Outside of the field was almost a dozen food (pizza, Greek, Tacos, German, frozen treats, etc.) & drink trucks (beers, Margaritas, Agua Frescas, etc.) options. Stadium area: VIP seating to the South, Home field side to the West, Away side to the East, and the tall bleachers to the North. SRFC also has a really nice field. Overall: Good area, good assorted food & drinks options, good stadium.

One of my favorite parts was how interactive it was for kids. They have a scavenger hunt that keeps them engaged while exploring the museum, which makes it fun for the whole family. My kids loved searching for the clues while checking out all the different aircraft. There are planes both outside and inside the museum, and the exhibits are well laid out so you can take your time walking through everything. It's a great place if you enjoy aviation or just want something different and educational to do with the family. Definitely worth the visit. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

There are a couple of Russian MIGs, but the rest of the collection are American aircraft. There were a few aircraft I have not see in any other air museum on the west coast, like the F-100D and the F-86L. I also went to see the Snoopy and the Red Baron Exhibit. There were a lot of comic strips to view. I really like how they were blown up and not newspaper sized, because they were easier to read that way. I wish the screens would show all of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and What Have We Learned Charlie Brown instead of just the Red Baron excepts. It eventually got repetitive as I was reading the strips. I like how they have a cafe inside the museum. There was no food available within walking distance that I could see. I had the tuna melt. It was fresh and very good.

We were able to take a behind the scenes tour on Free Museum Day. It was amazing. Their collection is incredible- lots of stuff from Sutter's Fort (donated by Californians during its time as the State History Museum), the Panama Pacific International Exposition, and furniture from some well known Californians (Reagan and the Roosevelts). The tour was the best part. Staff said that public tours will be made available by appointment for a small fee soon. They are also working on implementing a volunteer program. While the facility stores collections from nearly all state parks (over 200), the Railroad Museum, State Indian Museum, and Sutter's Fort are heavily represented. In addition to their object collection the facility houses the California State Parks Archive. If you are looking for materials about the state parks you should contact their archivists to make an appointment to see the items. The facility also houses an archaeological center open to study and an incredible center for online school interaction (http://www.ports.parks.ca.gov/pages/22922/files/ports_handout_2014.pdf) I was really impressed by their friendly staff and the access we received. As the earlier reviewer noted no large backpackss, food, or water is allowed nor can you take photos on tours. These measures ensure the safety of the priceless objects they are charged with caring for. It is standard practice for museum and archival collections. Sadly their hours are limited and only allow you to see their main exhibit. I really hope there are more tours scheduled for the near future. They've been open for less than a year and it seems like things change quickly so call ahead to see if tours are available before you go.
