I've seen Brandin now maybe 6-7 times and it's been so healing for me! I used to be a professional athlete and had to retire due to concussion problems. She's helped with my severe brain fog, overall energy, and a lot of tension in my jaw. For people new to cranio sacral, I recommend sticking with it for more than 1 or 2 sessions. Brandin rubs me the right way. When it comes to massage, I need work done. I'm not about some spa treatment where someone barely touches my skin. I go to massage for therapy for sore, tight, knotted and twisted muscles. I need deep action, stretching and all that. And Brandin does a great job of helping with that therapy. I have all sorts of chronic muscle issues. My inconsistent workout schedule, legacy back problems, stress and inattention to proper stretching all combine to create sometimes undesirable effects like unbreakable knots, out-of-balance gait, stiff back, and, like everyone else, shoulder and neck tension. An hour and a half (I go long) on this massage bed usually sets me right. There may be some pain involved here and there, but that's how you get the knots out. It doesn't have to be this way, though. Brandin assures me she can go softer for anyone who wants. I just don't want that. I pay for the pain, as well as the resultant gain. Location wise, this could be a lot better for me. I live on 82nd and this is on Thurman. But I can't dock stars for that... it's still worth the drive. On the upside, it's right near a freeway entrance/exit so I don't have to battle too much of the NWPDX traffic. I'm happy with my new massage situation. My muscles are happy too. I really like the location and availability of parking as I first arrived. The room is well setup and feels very "right" from the first step inside all things start to melt and slow down. She offers an awesome mix/hybrid of massage and cranial for those interested in the significant benefits of craniosacral work. Craniosacral therapy is one of the most relaxing things I've done to my body and I'm strongly recommending an experienced practitioner like Brandin if you are going to try it. I started seeing Brandin after acquiring a concussion and whiplash from biking. I had the typical concussion symptoms such as lack of concentration, brain fog, dizziness, headaches and more. Brandin treated me with both massage and craniosacral therapy (regular and intra-oral). The craniosacral therapy treatments made a huge difference. After one of the treatments I went from feeling like crap to lifting the fog in only one session. After several treatments, she also helped me get rid of the dizziness and headaches. I came to Brandin with a less-than-ideal surgical outcome from a shoulder surgery three years ago and have been very impressed with the results. I've gained back almost 90% of my normal range of motion (I was at arournd 70% before starting with Brandin). Besides that issue, she is always a great help with my chronic back pain and the ususal aches and pains associated with an office dweller job during the week (think stressfull job on a keyboard all day) and weekend warrier endeavors on the weekend (moving, landscaping, tearing out carpet). I'm a runner, chronically tight, always concerned to avoid injuries (esp hips, knees), and the chronic tightness and aches that come with running (and overdoing it with yoga!).
