Dr Singh told my sons father he was being sent to a completely different hospital 45 minutes away from the hospital he was routed to. When my sons father called and spoke to Dr Singh she said "I assure you he will be going to southside"When I called Dr Singh she could care less and was more concerned what hospital he was taken to, but should clearly have known yet she said she was standing right next to Dr papaleo and staff when Dr papaleo sent him to southside" when I asked this incompetent fool who then sent him to Manhasset she couldn't tell me anything, tried talking over me and chuckled under her breath and when I mentioned I would be writing reviews on her and her staff she then said im sorry im sorry and im hanging up now. I have been having heart palpitations and could not miss that appointment. I happened to make a wrong turn while I was already driving late and drove through a neighborhood to get to this office. On the way there someone in front of me was driving rather slow so I attempted to go around them. I was stopped, yelled at and given the middle finger. I yelled out the window that I was on my way to the hospital considering I had a heart issue I need to be seen for and he let me pass. I then get to my appointment saw by doctor Leah Burgman and Nurse and found out thankfully that everything was normal. I checked out as normal and said goodbye. As I walked outside the office I was stopped by the outside staircase by the Physician Assistant Austin Stack and yelled at and harassed. This man took it upon himself with his stethoscope around his neck to corner me by the stairs yell and scream at a woman he did not know telling me "I thought you were going to the hospital, don't drive in my neighborhood again, told me he knew who I was and would come find me if I ever came to this office again." Austin Stack was not my doctor nor my Physician Assistant yet looked through my medical charts which is against the law to find out my name and address. I went back into the office and spoke with Diane the Office manager about the incident and she told me she was already aware of the incident and she would speak with him. It was as if the entire staff helped facilitate this...the level of disgust and unprofessionalism that I witnessed today was unfathomable. Do not come here your HIPAA rights will not be respected. I have filed and mailed a complaint to NY State Department of Health (office of professional medical conduct), A police report, NY Attorney general and the BBB. When I first started seeing her, my average blood was in the the range of 200-300's. I felt I had to live with it the best I could. Dr. Hassan set goals for each visit and tweaked medication to serve those goals. My numbers are amazing on a regular basis. She and entire team of Flavia and Sukhjit have been advocates for me with my insurance and getting what was prescribed not what they deemed necessary and cost effective. This practice aims to be clean, organized, and hospitable. However, they're not very proactive, especially with annual appointments and check-ups. They don't schedule your next appointment before you leave, so you'll have to remember to do so and try to find a vacancy on short notice. Usually, when I search online, there are no appointments unless you call, which is inefficient when the phone tree navigation isn't intuitive and you get disconnected while on hold without a warm transfer. The main saving grace for this clinic are two phlebotemists (e.g., Kathy M. or Saida R.) who are extremely skilled at drawing blood from patients with deep veins and anxiety. Others, will run a poke-a-thon until they can find a vein or tell you to come back after your arms and hands have healed to try again. However, their staff seem neither efficient nor patient-centric with a lack of coordinated care and accommodations, especially for those with mental disabilities, such as cognitive impairments. For example, they advise you to switch to a medical insurer that most of their doctors accept for centralizing your healthcare and then decided internally not to accept that insurance without informing the public or patients with any change management communications and transition plan. Since they don't accept external lab scripts like at other hospitals, such as Northwell or NYU, you have to get the labs done elsewhere if you want to bundle them to reduce the unnecessary extra blood draws requested by each clinician. Moreover, they seem to have little accountability for their misinformation, missing info or broken processes. Their hotlines for patient experience seem like public relations to make them look as if they care when they just defer you or say they don't handle this or can't do anything. I can understand and accept mistakes and misalignments. However, when staff knowingly and intentionally don't try to rectify these errors or bridge gaps at the patients' expense, this reflects poorly on the cultural values and integrity of the institution and its employees. Based on all the lackluster reviews, I'd be careful before transitioning your care to this facility.
