I could tell immediately that the kitties loved her. It's a bit of a task taking care of my cats... they're sphinxes and to be frank, they poop/pee ALOT.. so she definitely had her hands full. They can get bored easily and love alot of attention and they seemed to be very happy when we got back from our trip. My house was also in great shape; all the mail brought in. Even a mishap in the kitchen mat all taken care of and a note left letting us know. Oh, and she's super reliable. In July we made arrangements for an introduction a month later in August and without having to send any sort of reminder email/call she was on time at my house. I highly recommend her to anyone!

While I was hiking Zion, I left my dog back at the cabin. She got separation anxiety and I realized that I couldn't leave her by herself a second day. This tiny creature turned into a damn Tasmanian devil. Don't let her cute furry face fool you. I called Darlene around 3pm and told her I was looking for someone to board my dog overnight since I was scheduled to leave to Zion the next morning at 6am. Darlene was great. Luckily she had the room to board her on such short notice. She said she could take her and would even let her sleep with her since that is our usual practice. She asked important questions like - does she get along with other dogs? How old is she? Does she sleep alone? Now, afterwards I might have had a little separation anxiety myself giving my dog to a perfect stranger but honestly, she couldn't have been in better care. Side note: Darlene seems to be a staple in this area for dog care and training. I've heard MULTIPLE people rave about her training. If I lived closer I would absolutely send my dog to her.

As a result, the boys became restless, jealous, no longer listened (well) and taking them on a walk became a chore we dreaded. I wanted a better life for them and me. I discovered TopLineK9 when a St. Bernard was dumped in the Village. When I heard where and how he was being prepared for his forever home, I googled the business and reached out to Stephanie. Wow. Is she just a burning ray of sunshine and joy! We met and the boys and I were hooked. The boys went to school for the 2 week board and train. We met a few times during training to; first ease my fear that my boys would forget me, and to begin to train ME on being a better leader. Once the boys came home the change was palpable. They were actually calm in the mornings when they used to brawl at our feet while we drank coffee. Walk became something to look forward to and we were able to get out to some trails without the dogs barking and lunging at other people and dogs. They are actually listening and looking to me for direction instead of doing whatever they want to do. We are still in the process of doing a few follow ups to make sure that everything "stuck". I think the boys really benefited by being away from me for a few weeks because (I believe) they needed a break from me and my frustrations. We found ourselves needing emergency veterinary care at about 2:00 am in the morning while staying…read moreat our cabin in Strawberry when one of our dogs injured her leg and we suspected she had torn her CCL. As worried pet parents, it's incredibly stressful when something happens in the middle of the night, especially when you're away from home. The team at Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital was wonderful. They were caring, compassionate, and took the time to evaluate our girl and make sure she was comfortable. Since we were only in the area temporarily, they provided pain medication to help keep her comfortable until we could get her back down to the Valley for follow-up care with our regular veterinarian. What really stood out to me was their follow-up and communication. They called the next day to check on her, and they promptly forwarded all of her records to both our regular veterinarian and the surgeon who will be performing her CCL surgery. Having that coordination already handled took a lot of stress off our shoulders during an already difficult time. I hope we never need emergency veterinary care again, but if we do while we're in the Prescott Valley area, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my pets here. Thank you for taking such good care of our pup during a stressful situation.

Dave came over to meet our Alaskan Klee Kai 4 month old puppy for an initial consult and in house…read morepuppy training. The lessons he provided right off the bat were appreciated and implemented. Seeing how well she responded we wanted to immediately start her in his 3 week course as AKKs are known for darting and not listening. However, Dave said "Let your puppy be a puppy and contact us in a couple more months." I really appreciate him saying that. We continued training her at home while enjoying her puppy bonding time and 2 1/2 months later dropped her off. Three weeks without her was hard but we did it! When we picked her up we found the same happy pup but with added obedience. She even retained the training we taught her at home (we have a dog door bell system to signal outside for potty). Her auto-sit while walking and sit+stay / down+stay on leash are quite impressive and you can tell how proud she is when performing these commands as well as sitting at the door waiting to be invited in/out. In the back yard she's perfect with 'heel' but in the real world she's still a bit excited. That's expected with her breed and we will continue to train daily with the skills Dave taught us. Loyal K-9 is highly recommended for obedience training. While it was hard not to have her for three weeks it really has paid off. Thanks Dave and Cathy!
