I first went here a couple of years ago with my boyfriend and we got two massage beds on the ground (side by side), which I thought was a nice touch and a great experience to share. Today, I had a single table up the back and the friendly masseuse worked every knot out of my back. Just heaven!! I can't believe it was so long between visits - I'll certainly be heading back sooner, rather than later :)

I was originally only booked in for 60 minutes but during the massage changed my mind to 90 minutes, since she was doing such a great job. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and the pressure was really good. Another thing I liked is that when you sign in, they ask you how much conversation you'd like: none, light, or treatment-related. I really like that they're upfront about it, because I hate getting a massage from someone who's super-chatty when you just want to relax. Reason #4576 why I love Melbourne - we have our own Tantric Massage institute where one can soothe the body and the soul. This style of massage is not your regular style, this is a full-body sensual massage which engages the 'pleasure receptors' in our body and is eventually supposed to guide us towards a more blissful life. But it's not just tantra! You can also take part in a Loki Loki massage, a hot stone treatment or even a salt glow wrap. See? Not nearly as filthy as you were hoping. However, there is a couples massage course that one can take if they are keen to impress their partner and boost a fading love life - everyone likes a massage, right? The teachers here are lovely, polite and discreet and the centre is one you could easily miss so rest assured that if you walk out and run in to your boss, he is unlikely to know where you just came from!

I hadn't been since 2009, so I was keen to see if my first impression stood the test of time - I vaguely remembered feeling Zen-like for the next couple of days. Today's visit did not disappoint; the signature Kitya Karnu steam treatment, followed by a relaxation massage, were both pretty blissful. I actually fell asleep during the massage (rare), and generally felt much more relaxed from the moment I stepped in the door. Aurora has been around for a while now, and it's because they get how spa should be done. Expect to feel special for the time you're there, and expect some serious gratitude if you gift a treatment to someone.
