He diagnosed me with an illness I…read morefound out later I didn't even have and gave me medication for years which I didn't know at the time I didn't need. THIS IS MEDICAL MALPRACTICE. Besides this, while on the medication I had a seizure. This led to me almost falling down stairs but some kind citizen caught me. And luckily an EMT was there and helped me too. I've never had a seizure in my life before or after this incident occurred either. When I told Dr. Tonsing about my fall, he still wouldn't let me stop taking the medicine so he sent me to be evaluated by another doctor he referred me to. This doctor told me to immediately stop taking the medication. So I did and never took it again. Now I feel better than ever. He could have caused me to die, get injured or have another problem for life! I trusted Dr. Tonsing and he severely abused my trust. He treated me like a trouble maker for years and lied and manipulated me and my situation to make me look like a bad person which anyone who knows me knows I'm not in any way a bad person. I think he did this because he doesn't want to change his ways and become a better person. I told him about how my mother abused me when I first met him and he immediately became angry and verbally attacked me when he didn't even know anything about my situation. He increased my medication for no good reason when I later found out he shouldn't have done so at all (This was right before the fall down the stairs I talked about above). He did all kinds of horrible things to me and my life which I can go on and on about for a long time. He seems extremely nice but he has a dark side he lets out whenever he feels like it. Besides this, I thought Mary the receptionist was nice except I later noticed she saw him verbally attacking me and never did anything about it. So this is how I know she knows he's abusive but doesn't tell on him. DON'T TRUST DR. TONSING AT ALL FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. PLEASE GET A SECOND AND THIRD OPINION FROM SOMEONE ELSE WHO'S NOT ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO'S STUCK WITH THIS EXTREMELY NEGATIVE AND SADLY PATHETIC SO-CALLED DOCTOR.:-( He doesn't care about people because he's mentally ill himself. I feel sorry for him but he also disgusts me for treating his patients so poorly. I've known him for years and he has a sweet personality but this is deceiving because he's abusive! Was told by Children's Hospital, Denver to, among other things, have him evaluated for Medication. Dr. Tonising's receptionist was very kind and took our information and returned our call stating that Dr. Tonsing didn't understand what Children's wanted from him and why "they" weren't helping us. Children's was doing us a favor by referring us to a local doctor instead of forcing us to travel to Denver on a regular basis. He was not helpful and never did agree to see our son. My son needs help, we need help and we got nothing from him. I was really looking forward to meeting him as I've heard amazing things about him, he came highly recommended from other professionals in his field. Sad experience.

Not even an SUV I ran across State lines to get new insurance & properly disenroll from INnovAge It wAS one of the most horrible experiences of my life

We were referred to Dr. Hardy 3 years ago by our primary physician. We had an elementary aged…read morechild with behavior problems that limited his ability to manage his frustrations and succeed in school. Dr. Hardy was able to get him the medications he needed to cope in school. I would say that he is competent as a professional and is able to provide good care to those that see him. The flip side is his bedside manner, if you will. If you have to bring other children along during a visit, find a sitter. He is very intolerable of children and shows little patience. We never felt welcomed when we had extra kids in tow. The office staff have also been very short tempered with our kids and others that have been in the building. It is understandable to a degree, but not when your job is to work with kids! In addition to dreaded office visits, we recently relocated to another state. During the transition, we ran out of meds for our son. This was expected and we sought immediate care in our new location to get him the prescriptions he needed. However, any new Doctor's here could not see our child for at least 30 days. They suggested that we reach out to Dr. Hardy and request that he write a final prescription to carry the gap in time. Dr. Hardy refused to do so with no further explanation. I can only make the assumption that without money changing hands, we were out of luck. So much for the last 3 years of care! Given his bedside manner and no real interest in his patients beyond his immediate employ, I would look for another source of care.
