This store is one of the stops assigned and guarantee by the Viking cruise. Downstairs is a bunch…read moreof rugs and jewelry and upstairs is more rugs and the demonstration of the artists at work here. They have a sales person who speaks great English. If you are disable as in you can not walk you will miss out on the demonstration of the artists at work on the 2nd flood as there is no elevate. While you wait upstairs while they are setting up the demonstration, they give you little snack and tea to go with it. The negotiation for the price was easy and they can take all kinds of payment. I saw a nice blue rug that would look good on my wall. They will put in rings on the rug so I can hang the piece on my wall easily. They promise us that they will mail the rug to my when it is ready so I do not need to pay tax if I bring it with me back on the airplane. But it is scary as you don't know them and you pay thousand of dollars first already. But they are an authorize stop from the Viking cruise, they told me that if there is anything wrong I can always contact Viking for assistance. As of the time I published this review I am still waiting for my rug to come in.

0 stars if I could. This shop is listed on Vikings certified list of rug shops but don't let that…read morefool you. Our guide talked this place up and claimed the Turkish government was investing in the dying art of rug weaving which allowed these merchants to offer free international shipping and the best prices around so buying and this "collective/co-op" would really be helping support the craftspeople in the area. When you walk in the show begins. They have you file into a room where you get to see the silk being spun off cocoons. They explain they'll show you the process from start to finish and walk you to their show room where they have an artisan set up in the middle of weaving. At this point they just emphasize they're happy you stopped by and are happy to treat you hospitably as they show you their products. They show you different materials and have you feel the rugs. Then they roll out carpets on carpets and start sizing you up. At the end of their presentation they have sales people walk up to you and they refuse to negotiate. They instead stick to their first price and continue to drone on about quality and labor. Imho if your tour guide/excursion takes you here, try to go off on your own at that point. Go enjoy the beach or just explore the city on your own.

We went to this shop after being told by our guide that this was a shop you could trust!! That…read morethese people would not haggle, would give a fair price and did we know but they had made all the Jewelery for the film Troy. So we felt safe. We were well received. Nothing pushy. We had seen a gem stone on the cruise ship we were traveling but prices were very high. We knew nothing of the stone except we were told it was rare. Like lambs to the slaughter we made our purchase paying USD300 for one stone. We were shown how to test if it was genuine. (taking it in to various light levels) We also purchased a silver braclet and an amber one with so called with different shades of amber, well the amber is man made and different shades are infact more glass. Value of these two items I am told by the jeweller here in NZ 100 usd maybe. all together we spent USD 800. But that was not enough. Our ship went back to Kudasi and we had decided to make the so called Zultanite into a braclet so we went back by taxi and got stung again by purchasing 4 small stones(glass) for a sum of USD 600. On arriving home I took the stones to the jeweller who said he wanted to have them tested. RESULT GLASS!!! absolute RUBBISH. The credit company told me to approach them to return the goods which I have done 3 times to no avail. on the beginning of next month the credit company will take over!! I am in the process of identifying all shipping lines that go to Kudasai to pass on the information DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS SHOP LITTLE IF ANYTHING IS GENUINE. I am a pensioner it was a very big expense for us . They are professional scammers. I was given a scarf as I left and told it was special 40 years old. First time I was given a small ring ALL IS GOING BACK !! I do not want anything in my home from these people. They will show you photos of their work made for Troy talk of Brad Pits large personal purchases. and the Grandfather will show photos of his time in the war as a pilot. Round one we got a guarantee of genuine product ie. zultanite weight ect... round two they avoided by talk talk talk, to give the guarantee but the stones all were taken from the same BOX.!!!!!! BEWARE

RIP OFF - BEWARE THEY SELL FAKE SULTANITE!!!!!…read more I recently purchased a ring here that I was told was Sultanite. I was even given a certificate of authenticity. This was a present for my daughter. She has since had the gem examined and it is nothing more than coloured glass. Most disappointed! I am now back in Australia and will be telling everyone I can about this disgusting lying store. NOT HAPPY! Never buy from this store - they are lying rip off merchants.
