I consider myself extremely lucky not only to have my doctor's surgery so nearby it's almost the…read moresame building as my apartment block, but this doctor's surgery. I'd travel to it. Located adjacent to the Angel Centre, a place so lovely and charitable you feel better about humanity just walking past, Trinity Medical Centre has a good vibe to it from the get-go. The staff here bend over backwards for you and make you feel safe and comfortable. An example is when I realised I'd run out of something, I called in to get my blood pressure taken for a repeat prescription and although they were mega busy, when I explained the situation and said I needed it for tonight, the receptionist said, 'Ooh, you are cutting it fine aren't you!' and managed to squeeze me in with a nurse. However this meant that the prescription was only an emergency one and some pharmacies wouldn't accept it - not only did the receptionist know of a pharmacy that probably would, she rang them up, checked, and when they confirmed she told them to expect me in about an hour. She was doing her job and then some. The nurses here are spot on. When I went for my first smear, a well-known uncomfortable experience at best, the gentle, calm lady with a terrific sense of humour talked me through every single step of it and told me what to expect. As a result, I don't fear my next one. She was both professional and reassuring. She even talked me through what would happen to my sample and how they'd analyse it, with medical knowledge and enthusiasm, a winning combo. Trinity Medical Centre exudes an aura of tranquillity. Even if you're stressed out you'll soon be put at ease. When I returned from France having been in hospital there for a knee operation, my mother was obviously somewhat frantic about getting my aftercare and physiotherapy sorted. Again, the superb receptionist (Paula) sorted it all out. We were worried about the French medical notes, she said they have translators at the hospital as 'this sort of thing happens all the time'. She rang the orthopaedic ward at Hope Hospital on our behalf and bagged us an appointment for literally the next morning (this was done the day I'd flown back from France). With the sheer amount of students that descend on Salford every year, any that need to visit a doctor regularly for prescriptions should register with this local one. I did, and I still use it to this day. Heck, even if I move I'd probably jump back up here for appointments, I trust it that much.

Once all the panicking has subsided by my Mother certainly not Dr. Capper, a calming comment of "I'll follow up on Thursday to see how we are progressing", is enough to let you know your being cared for by professionals who truly care. Thank you for attending today an excellent response to my initially morning email, I received an initial phone call from Dr. Capper who then attended early afternoon, I then received a confirmation text from Dr. Capper reporting the prescription had been sent to Pharmacykwik, a quick call to Muckram who also provides a spectacular service he assured me Mum would have her prescription later today. Now who couldn't fail to agree the team at Urban village along with the support of our Pharmacies are delivery a truly awe-inspiring service. Thank you again for supporting my Mother and I.

I felt very special, desk at 9 am and she was super busy, she also said goodbye to another gentleman. I was also greeted by Matt who was walking past, he is super impressive and always says hi for a few seconds. I love the ease of contacting via forms, I know Dr. Greenlaw was very busy today but within filling out the form, she saw me face to face at 9 30 am. I wish all the other surgeries would follow this surgery examples. I get an amazing care and treatment here.

After a bad experience at the nearby Oswald Road Surgery I decided to register with the Kaya…read morePractice located inside the ugly Chorlton Health Centre. I did this because the Doctor was German, and after living in Germany for a year I had experienced the high level of efficiency Germans are generally known for. I was determined that this Doctor would not disappear without a trace and lose all evidence that I ever existed, as I had experienced at the aforementioned surgery. Although I was quite looking forward to meeting said German Doctor, I have luckily not had any reason to see him yet. I did, however, need to have lots of injections before going travelling, so booked an appointment at the weekly 'travel clinic'. The receptionist glared at me when I tried to book in with her, and pointed at the newfangled electronic screen. It was out of order, so I went back and checked in with the receptionist and browsed through some magazines whilst waiting for the nurse. I was the only person in the entire clinic, and no-one had left, so I thought it was a bit strange how I was still waiting for the nurse 20 minutes later. I then spotted her chatting to another receptionist about what was sub of the day at Subway. It was only then that she came over to me and invited me into her tiny office. She gave me my jabs literally whilst stuffing her sub of the day into her mouth. She did apologise about this, so I kind of forgave her, especially as the NHS is so over-stretched blah blah blah. What I didn't forgive was her knowledge of the countries and what jabs I needed. She called the whole of Russia 'a slum', and had never heard of Mongolia or Malaysia. She tried to get me to have jabs that I knew I didn't need, as I read over her shoulder that they were only essential for longer stints in the specific countries. I know they're not the most popular countries to visit, but she was supposed to be running a travel clinic! I didn't catch any diseases whilst travelling, so I guess she gave me the correct jabs, although they had run out of combined jabs and she was on holiday for the next two weeks, which meant I had to shell out for an extra jab at a private travel clinic in town.

It is NHS, run by GTD Healthcare who is an NHS funded provider of primary care services across Greater Manchester. The surgery is a pretty decent size, I came here for walk-in and was dealt with rather quickly even though it was busy, the doctor seemed pretty friendly but obviously he did have to re-direct me to a local hospital as it wasn't something they could sort out. I do think the catchment area for this place to sign up as a GP surgery is a little unfair, with it being right near my work and easier to get to for me than the local GP surgery I hoped to join however I was told they had really strict guidelines due to being oversubscribed and wouldn't be able to make any exceptions to allow me to join: many other surgeries would have allowed it if I opted out of home visits however they didn't seem to care either way which was a shame. A useful location however with mostly friendly staff serving Manchester city centre and the walk-in clinic can be used by any NHS patient whether you're a patient at the surgery or not, so that's pretty handy. 3*

Emails are endlessly ignored and I often find myself having to go to 111 because repeatedly requests are ignored, and leaves me reliant on using other people's medication to manage known ongoing conditions. A practise that everyone agrees is unacceptable and in fact dangerous, however I'm left with no other options. I'm not consulted over decisions made regarding my health care, and even after decisions have been taken without my knowledge the first time I hear about it is when I receive information via text and post. Assurances made that someone will get back to you exactly don't happen, and then when you raise this you find that you have two then endlessly repeat the same information over and over again. In the meantime whilst receiving the above treatment, of course the expectation is that you will treat them better than they treat you.

It was pointing me towards the car park of my local Sainsburys. Was it mad? No! It was completely sane. My new doctor is accessible via the car park of my local Sainsburys. Whaddya know. Bodey Medical Centre is clean, sleek and looks all shiny and new. So there are the usual waiting times, the hanging around, the boredom, but both my experiences here have made up for any bureaucratic annoyances. Basically, twice I have visited Bodey, twice for unpleasant things which are necessary to female health and well-being, and twice I have been impressed. My first appointment was with a female doc, second with a nurse. Both women were calm, friendly and most comforting, and both the nicest people ever to venture quite so intimately about my person apart from the obvious. My first appointment led to a hospital consultation which was handled quickly and efficiently - she said my appointment letter may take up to two weeks to arrive but it appeared in less than one. Similar story with nursey, who said results might take around three weeks but reached my letterbox in a few days. Bodey, seriously! Trinity Medical what-now? Call me fickle but my affections are totes transferred.
