What a gem! Everyone in my group of five absolutely loved this little village, and the restaurant at its center (this one) was a perfect way to wrap up our day. One star off only because the location is very remote. In a nation famous for the density and coverage of its public transit, the only reasonable way to get here is by auto. That being said, the brave will be richly rewarded for your journey.
Bring a sweater or jacket just in case, because the afternoon wind across the square can feel quite cold, even in the summer.
The staff is really friendly and all speak good English (unusual in this little town where most signs are in Dutch and German, and most of the locals have difficulty with other languages).
The menu has a good variety of choices - be sure to ask for one in English (it exists). Portions are average size for the Dutch. My wife and I split the "meatball and bread." I also had the "fish dish" and the two together was probably too much for us both.
Food is very tasty, arrives quickly, and is reasonably priced. Sit a while and watch the world gently glide by your outdoor seat, patio seat, or intimate indoor table. You'll be glad you did. read more
