They have now both been amalgamated into a larger superstore just north of Swadlincote Ski Centre. An impressive looking building with a large glass fronted façade, and a sizeable gated car park, this place is a DIY enthusiast and small business person's dream location! I wouldn't class myself as falling into either of those categories, but you can pretty much get anything for the home and garden from here, and the staff actually know what they're talking about, offering salient advice on request. On entry, there are the largest ride-on mowers I have ever seen, costing nearly as much as my car! The lower floor is packed with a fantastic range of paint, wallpaper, bathroom and kitchen fittings, as well as workwear, and a sizeable cookware area in the corner, that would outdo many stand-alone kitchenware shops. To the back of the ground floor is an area for fencing and other outdoor products for your garden. Up the sweeping stairs to the second floor is largely dedicated to the garden too, with a fantastic range of mowers, strimmers, garden tools, barbecues etc. This is also the location of the Massey's café, which has a good range of hot and cold food, made to order, as well as home-made cakes and scones, the cheese scones being particularly fine. A good range of hot and cold drinks too, but be warned, the coffee is exceptionally strong! I like my coffee, but this is like rocket fuel! All in all a great store, but it is a bit of walk from the town centre, if you don't drive.

There are two floors full of great pieces that you can't find in other stores. Examples are drinks bars that look like a car, life size Marilyn Monroes, life size Darlicks and Doctor Who memorabilia as well as some fantastic pieces of real wood furniture. If you are looking for film memorablilia or just a piece that will be a focal and talking point for your house then this is definitely the place to visit. They don't come cheap, but you can guarantee that your friends won't have something the same. If you are looking for good quality furniture and are hoping to pick up something special then this is also the place to visit. The staff are great and offer you tea or coffee while you browse. It is a great range of furniture, including a large variety of sofas, tables and beds. All of which are of a good quality, but on the expensive side. Sales at Toons offer a small discount, but this is usually swallowed up by the delivery costs! The carpet section is also expansive, with an impressive choice. In addition to this there is also a small curtain and bedding section. Whilst most staff in the shop are genuinely helpful, some have a distinctly superior air about them, which is unwelcome. What's that phrase 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' Toons has good little coffee shop, standard fare: coffees and teas, scones, toasties, cheese on toast etc. But all very tasty and well presented, good to relax in when you've just spent a small fortune in the shop!

Don't expect fancy displays. However, you'll find an ever changing stock which represents very good value. They do buy in ranges and you can order lots of different furniture form very helpful staff. They also stock one-offs. These will be returns to places like John Lewis - wrong fabric, customer changes mind. Also you will find furniture from photo shoots for companies like John Lewis. I have had great bargains. Buy when you see it as it may not be there when you return. Also check stock carefully. There may be a few marks here and there. All of mine have been fine. Good stylish furniture at a very good price. They deliver for £25.

I would have expected the drivers to at least remove the extensive packaging in their van after assembly instead of dumping it all at the side of the house in a large pile for the wind to spread around the garden. No effort was made to dispose of it. THANKS GUYS. This would be a major problem for an elderly or disabled customer. Perhaps you could think about this........... The self assembly item was just left boxed, so there was no way of checking on quality or damage before they left. They just said phone if there is a problem.
