I want to emphasize that while medicine in Germany is outstanding, doctors do have a tendency to not spend a lot of time contextualizing the medical condition, helping patients understand their options and answering as many questions as needed. Dr. Klockenkämper was one of the few healthcare professionals that I encountered in Frankfurt that are the exact opposite, for which I'm incredibly grateful. If you want a top-notch dentist who cares, knows her stuff and also happens to have one of the coolest practices you'll ever go to, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Klockenkämper!

Let me re-cap this afternoon/early evening and you'll see why I am giving 5 stars…read more 5.10 pm: Without any warning signs, our 5-year old starts crying because one of his teeth hurts badly. 5.15 pm: I am finding Marcus Moghadam's dentist office online, learn that they are open late Mondays to Fridays and call their number. 5.17 pm: The reception desk picks up and a very friendly lady tells me to come in right away - without having an appointment or having been a patient before - after she hears about our situation. She advises us though that the wait might be long because they are really busy today. 5.35 pm: The kid and I arrive at the most stylish dental office I have ever seen. We are being asked to fill out a form and to wait in the waiting room. There is one other patient waiting in there. 5.37 pm: The other patient is being called in while I am filling out the form. 5.39 pm: The dental assistant calls us in and leads us to one of the examination rooms. Good thing I just finished that form. 5.40 pm: The dental assistant sets everything up and asks the kid a few questions in a really friendly voice. Then she leaves to get the doctor. 5.50 pm: Dr. Moghadam arrives. He spends a couple of minutes with connecting with Junior by asking him questions about kindergarten and his interests. He reveals that he is a dad of 3 kids and he really does a great job of explaining everything to our son so that he can understand it. 6.00 pm: After an examination without any frills, it is clear that Ace needs a filling in one of his molars. The doctor explains everything to the kid and goes over the options with me. 6.10 pm: The dental assistant comes in and her and the doctor start the procedure. They are both incredible gentle and do their best to make my child feel fine and make sure that he is not in pain although he has not received any anaesthetic or laugh gas. 6.25 pm: The hole is filled and Dr. Moghadam advises me on follow-up care as well as future procedures that are needed. All of his advice is very reasonable and I can't help but feel that he is only concerned about my child's teeth and not about his money. Kiddo is allowed to select a little gift from the treasure chest. 6.35 pm: We make a follow-up appointment at the reception desk and then head home. Ace feels a ton a better and states that he really likes the dentist and that this procedure wasn't so bad. Best dental experience I have ever witnessed. Gentle, understanding, incredibly friendly and nobody was trying to up-sell you or similar. I would give 6 stars if I could.

TOURISTS - BE CAREFUL!!! They ask for €150 deposit, saying…read morethey will charge for the service and return the remaining balance. They never return anything, and find the way to charge all of it. I came to AllDent because my ceramic inlay fell out and I needed to glue it back. I paid the deposit and filled up a detailed form for the refund. The Doctor gave me 2 options: to glue it back with a temporary glue, or to take and x-ray, and if everything is ok to put the permanent glue. First easy option he said is around 18€, and second would be more but still within 150€ deposit. I asked for an easy temporary option. Since the inlay was ceramic and fitted perfectly, the assistant put the glue on it, sticked it back and that was it. The whole procedure was 5 minutes long, no drilling or anything else was done. They didn't tell me the final cost, saying it will take some time for the money to come back. One month later with no reply, I emailed them and they said "there is no remaining balance, and there will be no refund". Then they sent an invoice where I could see what exactly they charged 150€. They mention time consuming, difficult procedures and services that never took place. It looks like they come up with tasks and prices, just so they can use up the whole deposit. I am very disappointed with this kind of treatment, in my opinion this is a scam for tourists. When you leave, there is nothing you can do. I tried to get an explanation, but they ignore me completely.

Unfortunately, the front-desk staff are often insensitive or downright rude, getting an appointment generally takes weeks, and wait times during the appointment can be prolonged (30+ mins). Plus, the waiting room is unpleasantly noisy. Bottom line is that going to the dentist is an unpleasant experience made worse by the unfriendly folks they have working here. There are better dentists to be found in Frankfurt.
