I had a very disappointing experience with Matt's Generator Maintenance…read more Matt came onto my property and serviced my generator without my permission or consent. I had not spoken to him in 8-9 months and did not request service, as the unit did not need it. Despite this, he proceeded and I later paid the $260 invoice even though the work was unauthorized. When I confronted him, he falsely claimed I had given permission. After he worked on the generator, I began having issues due to changes he made to the computer settings. I had to contact another authorized Generac dealer to correct the problem and restore the unit. In addition, he was unprofessional and rude when I tried to address the situation. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. -Richard C UPDATED RESPONSE I need to address additional false statements in your response. You claimed that you called me a week prior and received permission to service my generator. That is completely untrue. I did not receive a call from you, and I did not authorize any work. I had not spoken to you in 8-9 months before you entered my property. You also stated that I sent payment to the wrong Venmo account. The confusion occurred because I was given incorrect payment information. Despite that, I made sure you were paid in full. I paid because the work had already been done and I conduct myself honestly -- even though the service was never requested or authorized. When you later contacted me, the call was highly unprofessional. You were laughing excessively, speaking incoherently, and not addressing the issue in a clear or professional manner. That interaction only reinforced my concern about how this situation was handled. To be clear: I paid for unauthorized service and then had to contact another authorized Generac dealer to correct issues after your visit. I stand by my original review. -Richard C

James "Smylie" Kinne designed, fabricated and installed a 26 foot electronic gate with a Viking controller, and two 24 foot manual gates for me over ten years ago! He has checked in with me annually since the original installation and has dropped by when he was in the area just to check on things. He has had to make some minor adjustments to the chain length and remote antenna placement (due to heavy snows), and he responded within 24 hours, trudging through the snow to fix the problem! Customer service seems to be an archaic idea these days, but Smylie exemplifies service, honesty, and craftsmanship. And, he takes great pride in his creations.
