I worked with Straight Line Fencing to install a new gate opener. Ray and Joanne came to my home to…read moresurvey the work. I then got a reasonable quote, and they quickly scheduled my job. They arrived on time and installed my gate over the course of 2 half days. No only was the opener installed expertly, but the installation was super clean, and no shortcuts were taken in getting the system in place. Doing gates is just a part of their overall business. Some years ago I contracted with Alderson Fencing to dig numerous post holes. Skeeter came out with…read moreequipment to do it. It was a lot and he was paid promptly. A few months later I needed more done, roughly 1/2 to one full days worth for post hole digging. When called Skeeter said he would come out a do it. We arraigned a time day and time. I followed up and reconfirmed, simple dig post holes and get paid. Skeeter never showed up, I called and left messages, but never heard from Skeeter again. It was like he was telling me to FO for no reason. I found Skeeter an unreliable source for work. Perhaps someone new owns this business and I would give them the benefit of the doubt... But Skeeter was an unreliable POS.

I was recommended Van's as the source for the doors for my new custom home build in Copperopolis by…read moremy general contractor. I oriented myself to doors from YouTube as much as I could--a subject I knew nothing about--and thought through the design style I was looking for. When I went in for my appointment with Dave, sending the blueprints ahead of me, he was able to quickly walk me through the process of selecting my doors. For example, he knew from the blueprint that an exposed front door like mine really had to be fiberglass to hold up to the blazing heat and winter storms. The shaker style interior doors (MDF) were a no-brainer for me, but to choose the front door I had to take catalogues home. There was one stop back to finalize things months later before the order went in, and Dave pointed out that we had changed the front size, which would make the handle disproportionate. Changed it. I wasn't there for the installation process, the contractor coordinated it. It is Thanksgiving day, and I just wanted to thank Dave and his crew. All the doors make me happier than I could have imagined as a new home owner.
