So in addition to getting ready for the trip, I had to scramble to find last minute accommodations. They were not available by phone - notification came through Expedia, and both Expedia and I tried calling, with no results. Would not recommend, since they can't seem to honor paid reservations. 0615 update: after trying to get a refund through Expedia, the hotel has refused, citing that I was a no show. Since they cancelled on me (and this is a commonality with them - check out Trip Advisor), seems clear they are disreputable. Expedia said today that the phone number for them is not working. Currently disputing the charge w my credit card. Do not use this hotel!

Off the beaten path guest house close to Freiburg but still somewhat secluded. They don't…read moreadvertise on any of the major sites for hotels but this is not exactly a hotel but more like 2 small apartment buildings with rooms = apartments to rent for various short stays. The hosts are a wonderful family that own the farm, vineyards, the guest house, the country store and the cafe that goes along with them. The houses are much better maintained then I was seeing here in the States and clean like one wouldn't believe. We needed a crib for our 10 months old daughter and even though it's a bit unusual request Frau Martina and her husband have accommodated this request. Overall I can't say any more praises to the place though some of the requirements are a bit more unusual for those coming from the States.
