MY EXPERIENCE WITH RICK DONNER…read more I have owned stock in 2 related subchapter-S companies for several years. In 2009, the parent company, also an S-corp, took back my stock in these 2 subsidiaries, and instead gave me stock in the parent. So I had 3 K-1s to deal with, and as usual the K-1s didn't arrive until April 8th and 12th. I had waited a week for an appointment with a CPA, then sat down for about 30 minutes and explained the situation. Suddenly, the accountant stood up and said they weren't able to help me. It was too complicated, they had too much to do. I was shocked . One week to tax day and I had nowhere to go. I had tried TurboTax, but no way could it deal with this K-1 swap. I couldn't return to last year's accountant. He had said my return was a lot of work, and had charged me big money. And last year's had been much easier than this. I couldn't believe this. I'm from Chicago, and I have known smart accountants in the past who could certainly deal with this. But after 4 years in Fort Myers, I didn't know where to turn. Then I met Rick Donner, and the situation changed completely. As I talked to him, he immediately started creating my return on his computer. I explained the stock swap and showed him the documents, and he quickly figured out what was going on. Then he sat and thought for a while, and I shut up. Finally he said 'Ok, here's what we're going to do'. And he proceeded to explain the strategy for dealing with the swap. Furthermore, the return was essentially done - he had been typing everything in while we were talking. All we needed was the last K-1, and that was it. I was blown away. It had seemed like such a big problem an hour ago, and now it was magically solved. What had been a really bad day had suddenly turned great. Such a relief to find someone who could handle this with no nonsense. And, he didn't try to make a big case out of it and charge me an arm and a leg. Rick is forthright, smart, and a straight dealer. I would recommend him heartily. Dave S.

They will charge you full price and outsource your tax work. So they're paying somebody else pennies and charging you hundreds. Why are we FAILING as a country?! People like this business with poor morals, lazy attitudes, extreme procrastination and utter entitlement. They did not do my taxes on time, tried to blame it on the girl they fired (Who did inform me the correct information& couldn't defend herself[but I knew] this indicates extreme dishonesty in ALL aspects) LIARS & an email that I never received. Angie came out and was extremely rude, mumbled and went back to let the rude secretary deal with me when I was understandably upset. Bryan told me flat out on the phone he would work against my interests in a smarmy tone and the secretary nastily tossed my paperwork at me when I demanded it returned and let a real professional do my paperwork. DO NOT GO- MR ROPP PASSED AWAY. When I told him that he's costing me extra money WHEN THEY HAD MY PAPERWORK A MONTH ..."How am I doing that? I was taken care of by Kevin Corbett as he's done taxes for some of my family members in the past. Appointments are pretty straightforward at K&A. Kevin's questions while doing my taxes showed me how methodical he was and it was interesting to understand the reasons he asked (he explained to me some of the terms, laws, etc.). We managed to get through my complicated taxes and I was ready to be on my way. My experience for the first time was great at K&A, especially for such a dull tax activity. There were two things that I'd point out could be improved for my experience to be much better. 1. Up front transparency for cost of tax filing 2. Speed up of time doing taxes (I was there for 2 hours) All in all, my experience was positive and I thank K&A.

I am in a moms group and many many many many people complain about how unprofessional this company is. We had to re do our taxes and shockingly got way more than $20 back. If he doesn't like how you ask a question or talk to him they refuse to do your taxes or mess them up. We found out he was putting business issues on our personal taxes and not doing the right deductibles as not only did my husband work but so did I and we claimed 2 children. Yes he did do my husband uncles taxes and if he is happy then that's all that matters but I still to this day would not ever recommend him and when the question comes up in any groups I'm in that ask about taxes his company comes up more than others to NOT use. He is still sending me emails and my husbands uncle invoices as hahaha I'm still doing his taxes which is very unprofessional and to me is wrong. He should have let it go when this happens as we did. He is not someone I recommend and one we avoid at all costs. We never stepped foot in his office as we did not live in Florida so he never kicked us out as he has stated and yes my husband did ask him what the fuck because we got nothing back on our taxes when he did them and that caused him to not send us the papers and told us due to that he was going to take his sweet time and we would get them when we get them and he proceeded to not return our calls to even try to explain or fix our concerns. As stated I am doing this review as a response to his comment since I cannot comment. Just not I am not the only one who has been screwed as again I'm in many Florida groups still and they all say the same about him If he had done your taxes and did them rigt and showed you respect and was professional I am very very happy for you as I wish we would have gotten the same service but unfortunately that's not how it was for us. I'm not looking to bash the guy (as he thinks I am) I'm just give an honest opinion. So if his feelings are hurt sorry but I have a right to say what happened to us.
