Holy crap. I didn't know I could ever enjoy going to the doctor's!…read more As my first ever acupuncture treatment, I can't say that I wasn't nervous and may have dreaded my visit to the clinic. However, everything about this place makes me want to go back to Sarah again. Referred by friends, I decided to give this clinic a try for my chronic skin problem. The drive to the clinic was easy and fast off of 128, the clinic is in a building right by the Norwood town center. I was delighted to find free parking spots right next to the building, which is a big plus for me. The clinic is on the second floor, with a surprisingly comfy waiting room. Sarah greeted me there with some official paper work to fill out. She was very friendly and explained to me what the treatment entailed to help with my chronic skin problem. Her friendly manners certainly had a calming effect (but not going to lie, I was still nervous). Onto the treatment room, a small but very homey space. Aside from the soothing music playing in the background (which was cool), I must comment on the bed. OMG. The bed was so comfortable it made me feel like I am laying on top of clouds. Sarah was very quick with the needles. In fact, I didn't even realize she had started inserting them - which was completely painless.. whaaaaaaat. This is in contrary of my expectation of acupuncture. Sarah was assertive but extremely nice throughout the process, and even offered to place additional needles for my minor complaints during the same treatment, free of charge. She was able to answer all of my (probably nooby) questions and concerns about acupuncture whenever I fired them off, which was extremely comforting to me to know that I'm in the hands of a very capable practitioner. I was not sure how much time had passed, but I was so relaxed during the treatment that I fell asleep for a brief moment! At the end of the treatment, Sarah again ensured I was feeling fine that truly demonstrated how much she cares for her patients. Again, as nervous as I was prior to coming to the clinic, I cannot believe I would come out feeling so loose and relaxed. It has been a couple of days and my skin problem has not been acting up. I cannot ask for a more positive experience for my first acupuncture treatment. Live Well Rejuvenated was truly a gem and I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a try. I think you would come back again and again like I plan on doing!

Sarah put me at ease immediately and explained the whole process before and while she was doing it. The needles are so slender that I hardly felt them. After one treatment my back was almost completely healed! I began seeing Sarah regularly for help with migraines and weight loss. I have had tremendous success in both areas. My husband has had back pain for the last three years. He has been to massage therapy, stretch therapy, and a chiropractor. He decided to try acupuncture with Sarah after seeing my positive results. He has finally found something that is giving him long term relief. We both highly recommend Sarah and acupuncture!

I met Marisa in the midst of a recent dark time when my old companion, Anxiety, came calling, and…read morebrought a new friend, Panic Attack. Meeting Marisa proved to be a lifesaver. Her intelligence, knowledge, competence, confidence, kindness, and humor provided the help, support, and treatment I needed to start rebuilding. Hypnoacupuncture gave me relief and a new direction: as the acupuncture works on the present anxiety and physical body, the hypnosis works on the future by directing the subconscious mind. Marisa honed in on where I wanted to go next. In this way, she's like the coach you didn't know you needed; a good coach helps you move forward in such a way as to shorten the learning curve. As Marisa brings her top game, she carries her patients along with her. Since receiving treatments, I've learned to reallocate the anxious energy and use it more effectively and productively. I'm back to chasing my goals and dreams in ways I haven't previously. I thank Marisa daily for her talents and her magic.

I'm honestly not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Marisa has been so…read moreimpactful that I felt like I had to share. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I'm so grateful to have found her and truly can't recommend her enough.

Dr. Sarah Byrne at Root Family Medicine is -- by far -- the most talented PCP I've ever had and…read moreamong the best doctors I've ever seen. I have EDS, craniocervical instability, dysautonomia and transverse myelitis, all of which have been an ordeal to untangle, and she's been completely brilliant in her ability to juggle both the big picture and small details simultaneously within a variety of rare issues. After burning through multiple specialists, she was actually the first person to suggest I could have Ehlers-Danlos, an unusual genetic condition. How she even knew about this is beyond me, as most EDS patients are first introduced to it by a specialist, definitely not a generalist like their PCP. She then sent me to a geneticist at BWH who confirmed her hunch. She also suspected I have Lyme when no one else did, ordered blood work from Quest and -- lo and behold -- it came back shriekingly positive while everyone else was burying their heads in the sand. She's extraordinarily adept, and I'm only scratching the surface of other rocks she's managed to look under that no other doctor thought to. Dr. Byrne has also pulled together a very skilled and compassionate front office who make booking appointments and asking questions easier than any other medical office I've ever dealt with. Rebecca and Teresa have helped with so many complicated things over the years and been completely unwavering. She's also very easy to book follow-ups with and always seems to make sure she has last-minute slots available. She's fundamentally there for her patients and, beyond her formidable intelligence, is also just a very reassuring soul when facing a seemingly endless stream of medical problems. Root Family Medicine is a vibrant reflection of Dr. Byrne, an unmatched PCP who is exceptionally smart, intrinsically open-minded and genuinely caring. If everyone could have a PCP like her the world would be a much, much healthier place. I'm eternally lucky to have Dr. Byrne as a bright lighthouse in the fog of an unusual medical picture.
