I have EDS, craniocervical instability, dysautonomia and transverse myelitis, all of which have been an ordeal to untangle, and she's been completely brilliant in her ability to juggle both the big picture and small details simultaneously within a variety of rare issues. After burning through multiple specialists, she was actually the first person to suggest I could have Ehlers-Danlos, an unusual genetic condition. How she even knew about this is beyond me, as most EDS patients are first introduced to it by a specialist, definitely not a generalist like their PCP. She then sent me to a geneticist at BWH who confirmed her hunch. She also suspected I have Lyme when no one else did, ordered blood work from Quest and -- lo and behold -- it came back shriekingly positive while everyone else was burying their heads in the sand. She's extraordinarily adept, and I'm only scratching the surface of other rocks she's managed to look under that no other doctor thought to. Dr. Byrne has also pulled together a very skilled and compassionate front office who make booking appointments and asking questions easier than any other medical office I've ever dealt with. Rebecca and Teresa have helped with so many complicated things over the years and been completely unwavering. She's also very easy to book follow-ups with and always seems to make sure she has last-minute slots available. She's fundamentally there for her patients and, beyond her formidable intelligence, is also just a very reassuring soul when facing a seemingly endless stream of medical problems. However, everything about this place makes me want to go back to Sarah again. Referred by friends, I decided to give this clinic a try for my chronic skin problem. The drive to the clinic was easy and fast off of 128, the clinic is in a building right by the Norwood town center. I was delighted to find free parking spots right next to the building, which is a big plus for me. The clinic is on the second floor, with a surprisingly comfy waiting room. Sarah greeted me there with some official paper work to fill out. She was very friendly and explained to me what the treatment entailed to help with my chronic skin problem. Her friendly manners certainly had a calming effect (but not going to lie, I was still nervous). Onto the treatment room, a small but very homey space. Aside from the soothing music playing in the background (which was cool), I must comment on the bed. OMG. The bed was so comfortable it made me feel like I am laying on top of clouds. Sarah was very quick with the needles. In fact, I didn't even realize she had started inserting them - which was completely painless.. whaaaaaaat. This is in contrary of my expectation of acupuncture. Sarah was assertive but extremely nice throughout the process, and even offered to place additional needles for my minor complaints during the same treatment, free of charge. She was able to answer all of my (probably nooby) questions and concerns about acupuncture whenever I fired them off, which was extremely comforting to me to know that I'm in the hands of a very capable practitioner. I was not sure how much time had passed, but I was so relaxed during the treatment that I fell asleep for a brief moment! At the end of the treatment, Sarah again ensured I was feeling fine that truly demonstrated how much she cares for her patients. Again, as nervous as I was prior to coming to the clinic, I cannot believe I would come out feeling so loose and relaxed. It has been a couple of days and my skin problem has not been acting up. I cannot ask for a more positive experience for my first acupuncture treatment. Live Well Rejuvenated was truly a gem and I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a try.
