I have worked with several very good real estate agents over the decades. However, I have never…read moreseen anyone as skilled, ethical, personable and professional agent as is Dori. Often, I will read credentials on various websites and take the accolades with a bit of skepticism. Dori was even more than her credentials indicated. Her market reach and knowledge of the market made us 29% more than the lowest signed offer and over 9% above the next to highest offer accepted for the trusts for which I was Trustee. It was Dori's track record and her teaching and adherence to both personal and professional ethics that caused me to finally narrow down the list of recommended potential realtors to Dori. That decision was reinforced many times in many ways by her appropriately responsive phone calls, emails and texts depending on the situation. Regardless of the time day or night her demeaner was always pleasant and truly made me think I was her only client. However, over time I realized she had many other clients though I never felt put off or anything but that I was her most important client whenever we communicated. That said, I can easily recommend Dori as an excellent top-rated realtor that will work effectively for any client that chooses to work with her and will help them achieve the best results available for the market - if they listen to her advice and actually take it - a lesson I learned early on and was never disappointed.

I wish that we had a good experience. We wanted to move to Washington because of the great school…read moredistricts , nicer communities, and lower crime rate. We found the perfect townhouse or so we thought. We were shown a unit by Marc Wells that was Immaculate! It had great carpet, great paint job , new appliances- you name it it had it, it was perfect for us! Well after switching my daughter to Washington school district and packing up - we went to meet him to sign the lease . We were informed on the way to meet him that we would be renting the unit next door. We didn't think anything of it until we were shown the unit. It was like night and day compared to the one we were shown and thought we were getting. The carpet was dingy not to mention not even secured down as well as having spots of paint throughout. Don't even get me started on the paint job ! There was different shades of paint throughout the house and must be very cheap paint because I have children and as we all know things get on the wall and I can't even wipe them off without all the paint coming off of the wall ! This is definitely a bigger inconvenience having the same paint in the kitchen! The sliding glass door handle was put on backwards so my children smash their fingers every time they try to close the door. There is huge defect in the ceiling that is ugly - I can only assume it from a leak upstairs. The vanity in one on the bathrooms is warped from water damage as well. The boards of the floor slip apart and cause very unsightly visual gaps, we have a refrigerator that half works- it looks nice on the outside but doesn't produce ice, so what's the point. Walk-in closet had shelving in it that apparently was ripped down from the previous tenants that was left with bars sticking out of it. To say we are dissatisfied is an understatement but we had already moved our things into a storage unit and switchd our daughter school districts so we had no other choice but to sign the lease with him promising to have everything fixed. We signed our lease end of January maybe beginning of February and none of the issues have been addressed ! He did come over and paint if that's what you want to call it but it was done half-assed as well. I have spent more time and effort cleaning this unit then I ever have spent on any other place I have ever lived- it looks a million times better now than it did when we moved in. I have spent time shampooing carpets , removing paint spots from cabinets, flooring, the baseboards were disgusting, and when we pulled out the stove and refrigerator- I about vomited at the amount of dirt that was behind them! I feel like I should have been paid a deposit to move in here. We are going to fulfill our lease and we pay our rent every month but we will definitely not be renewing our lease nor renting from him ever again! I don't know if this would be acceptable to others but it definitely was not and is not acceptable to me! I had much higher expectations when moving to Washington and I was sadly let down.

As my wife and I married in May directly following graduation from college, my wife and I had to…read moremake a very quick move to the Peoria area for my career the following month. We had less then a week to find and sign with an apartment, and Cape Cod Village caught my eye. We made the several hour drive out to the area to look at a few other apartments, but once we stopped at Cape Cod, we knew this was were we wanted and signed within 2 hours. From the beginning, the staff has been absolutely incredible which greatly contrast the landlords of a college town. While with the latter I felt I was being deprived of any amounts of cash for this and that with little support, I feel that Cape Cod has genuine concern for all the residents and are extremely proactive in maintenance and care. Rather than just repairing issues, Cape Cod continually contacts us in advance and ask if there are any concerns we have or if they are going to update anything around our home. They just repaved the entire parking lot, and still continue to make improvements around our home including updating our AC to a smart controller. The club house amenities have been deeply appreciated this year with COVID as they opened the pool to residents over the summer and had it staffed full time to check temperatures and be cleaned between guest. The gym which is surprisingly nice has also remained open to us and cleaning supplies have been provided to sanitize equipment. While there are not bars or benches with free weights, the gym is very well equipped with machines and dumbbells with space for stretching and warm-ups. While it may not be enough for hard-core gymrats (there are full gyms in the area to be a member of if so), it has been perfect for my wife and I to frequent several times a week and is just one more perk that pushes Cape Cod over the top of perfection. If you are more into running, the complex sits right on the Morton bike path which gives plenty of options to get out and go. The area feels very safe, quite a bit more then East Peoria, and our friends in the area regret not living here when they have come to visit. They would move if they didn't already have contracts elsewhere. One thing thing that you must keep in mind is that the apartments are pet friendly which can mean dogs can occasionally be heard barking across the lake and there is always someone out walking their dog at any time of the day. While I have a low tolerance of pets and I have allergies, I've had no complaints as others seem to keep great care of their dogs and we've gotten on well. There are two types of apartment buildings here, old and new. We live in a new one and are so happy with the living space. The walls and ceilings are thick, we cannot hear the neighbors or music and the electric bill has stayed very low as there is great insulation. We pay about $30-70 a month for electricity which is very reasonable and actually less then we expected keeping the heat and AC at 68-72. Be sure to program the thermostat though to fluctuate if you're not home in the days and this will help keep the bill lower. Moving in to the third story took some physical effort with couches and furniture as the floors are very tall, but the stairs were deep, wide and the walkways are as well. There was no difficulty in getting things moved around as the outside is very spacious and well lit. I know that we will miss this place when we have to move due to work, and we both think that we will not be able to find a place this nice for this great of rent. Cape Cod has spoiled us. Every day when I come home it feels like coming to a lake front condo. I cannot recommend this apartment enough! Love the space, love the staff, and really hope you can as well!
