Without any prior indication of a problem developing, our automatic garage door opener suddenly would not open our garage door more than about 18 inches. Naturally, this happened at a time that was most inconvenient as we had doctor appointments and travel plans. I phoned Rx Garage Doors because of the positive reviews I saw on Yelp, and Mike answered my call while on a service visit to another home. He said that he could come to our house within the next 2 hours to assess the problem. Mike stayed in touch to keep me updated on his arrival, and when he got to our house, he quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken spring. He offered to order a replacement of the same spring system that had come with our house, but cautioned me that this particular type has a relatively short anticipated working life. The alternative was for him to convert our existing garage door spring system to one using a larger spring that is more reliable, has a longer anticipated working life, AND has the advantage of being less expensive. We opted for the conversion, and upon learning that we were due to travel out of town 2 days later, Mike offered to come back and install the new system later that day if we were willing to wait until the end of the day. Of course, we agreed. As promised, Mike returned late in the afternoon with his son Jake, and they worked efficiently to remove our old garage door spring system and install the new system. Throughout the process, both Mike and Jake were friendly, helpful, and professional. When they finished the conversion, they cleaned up after themselves and removed the old garage door spring system for disposal. We are very pleased, and we highly recommend the services of Rx Garage Doors. read more

Left the house, came back, garage door wouldn't open. Found out one of the garage door assist springs broke. It happened 10+ years ago so I called the last guy I know that did the job, Mike at Rx Garage Doors. called and left a voicemail and within 15 minutes got a call back, mind you, it's Saturday, that's saying something. Mike said no problem and that he'd send Jake out to repair it. Jake came by, had the replacement springs already in his truck, removed the old ones, put the new ones in, lubed up what he needed to, tested it a couple of times and done. Quick and efficient, just as I remembered last time I needed my springs replaced. These guys are the only ones i'll call if I ever need anything garage door repair related. read more

This business already has a 5* rating which is very well deserved. It's a father and son business. We had the pleasure of dealing with Jake, the son. He responded to my call rapidly and scheduled a call at my convenience. He gave warning when he left to come for the appt. Right on time. He requested information when I first called and did the research for possible causes of my issues. At my place he did a thorough examination of the equipments and did a thorough explanation of the defects of my motor and spring tension as well as parts damaged in the motor. He discussed choices for temporary fix vs a permanent solution to the issues. I was to make the choice best for me. When I decided on a choice he followed through and did everything perfectly. It was an excellent experience for a job well done and a price reasonable and well deserved. I have not experienced such skills in dealing with customers and outstanding communication skills in a worker for a very long time. I very strongly recommend this business and Jake. read more

Amazing service! Jake took our call in the evening and was out the very next morning with all of the supplies to fix our door. I posted the garage door opener to close it and thought the whole thing was trashed. It came down at an angle and wouldn't close all the way and it was dented. Jake was able to repair it within a few hours. We were in awe of his work. Very professional and knows his craft well. We highly recommend him!! read more

Mike and Jake did excellent work on my garage in a short notice since it's a holiday weekend. I have a 3 car garage, my single garage chain motor is noisy and stopped working, Mike suggest Put the new motor unit to my 2 car garage instead and place the older unit (10 year old) to my single garage door which I agreed. In the process of installing my old unit to the single garage door the motor also stopped working. Since we agreed on a fixed price, Mike and Jake installed a new motor in my single garage with no extra cost. Now I have 2 brand new garage door motor unit for the PRICE of 1. Very satisfied, highly recommended. Thanks Mike and Jake. read more

Couldn't have asked for faster and better service than with Mike & Jake from Rx Garage Doors! If every business could provide such fast and professional service the world would be much better off. Our garage door spring broke and they were able to schedule us the same day. Fair and reasonable price. Even offered a veterans discount. Highly recommend! read more

Mike and his son Jake are simply the best. I have had them help me out when I couldn't close my door and was worried about our home's security. On 2 separate occasions they were not working (including on a Sunday), but still dropped what they were doing and helped us out. When the time came for us to buy new doors, we went to RX and they helped us order them and then installed them including fine tuning to our preferences. We are very pleased with the new doors and have had multiple neighbors ask where we bought them. Small businesses with amazing service like this are hard to find at times, but so valuable. Mike and Jake treat you like family. When anyone asks for service, sales, or anything else garage door related, I tell them to call RX. read more

For sure 5 star!!! . My garage door wouldn't open yesterday and I knew we needed to get it fixed ASAP. So after using my trusty Yelp app as my guide I found Rx Garage Doors! So here's a quick breakdown: 9:00 called and spoke with Mike who was super helpful and gave great advice over the phone as I stood in front of my garage door. 10:30 George the technician was at my house ready to work and fix my garage door. 11:00 George was done! Ever since I changed my Wi-Fi provider, I could not, for the life of me, program my garage door opener. I have used RX Garage Doors now three (3) times and they never disappoint. Our house is getting older and still had the original garage door opener in it. It was loud, slow, didn't always open when we used remotes, and generally a big pain in the butt. I wanted a better opener I could rely on. Did a little research on Amazon, found the one I wanted, I called RX Garage Doors and they immediately knew what model I was looking for and scheduled an install fast. Mike came over and was incredibly self-sufficient. I had been tempted to go with the amazon installer but could clearly tell from his attention to detail (basically replaced the ENTIRE system, opened, lasers, controller, everything) that I had made the right choice. Absolutely would recommend for anything garage door related at all. read more

5 star service! Mike is a true professional and great at what he does. This is the second service call we've needed Mike for after my dad backed into our garage door, denting it. Ultimately we wanted a new door and Mike helped us every step of the way, connecting us with his vendor (who is quite top notch), and guided us along the entire process of deciding which door would work best for us. We ended up choosing an insulated short panel door with tinted windows and I'm ecstatic with the result. From custom order to install was less than a week. Our door is quieter now and will help keep the heat out. He's a very nice, knowledgeable person to work with, plus he does exceptional work! If you need anything fixed with your garage door, call Mike. read more

All of the 5 star reviews here are completely accurate about Rx garage door. Fast, friendly, affordable, absolutely not sketchy. Our garage door wouldn't open (basically because even though the motor is only 2 years old its the basic builders model cheapo version.) We called Rx based on yelp reviews. Best decision ever. Mike was quick and courteous and straight forward. We even had a little hiccup where he was late (he forgot his wallet on the other side of town) but he kept us in the loop and I really appreciate that kind of care and concern. We ended up having to change the opener and he gave us a very fair quote. He didn't try to squeeze us dry or charge us for things we didn't need. I was at the point where I thought maybe I should change the whole door and everything but he explained that best option for us was you just change the opener (when he could have easily taken us for targets and charged us for something we didn't need.) Absolutely use this company if you're ever having problems with your garage door! read more

Michael at RX garage Doors has worked on our door for 13 years since we moved in. Never a problem! He just replaced our opener as the old one burned out (After 38 years). Mike diagnosed our garage door problem over the phone. He could have come and charged me for the trip but he asked if I was comfortable making a simple adjustment. Mike just finished up with my install of the Chamberlain RJO70 sidemount. He is the best hands down! I had my garage springs replaced by Mike back in 2019 so I knew quality was great based off that install so, when it was time for an upgrade to my garage unit I knew who to call. If you're looking for an honest business owner looking out for your best interest Mike with RX Garage is the person. Thanks again Mike! read more

My friend believed he needed a new garage door opener. I was impressed with RX Garage Doors' reviews on Yelp and Google, and gave him the contact information. He called and spoke with the owner (MICHAEL). My friend was ready to schedule an appointment and Michael went above and beyond. He nicely asked my friend to go out to his garage so he could walk him through a few things to check. Immediately, MICHAEL knew what the issue was and helped my friend fix the issue over the phone. MICHAEL could have easily scheduled an appointment and made money on a simple fix that my friend wasn't aware of. Instead, he chose to help my friend for free by phone. That's absolutely amazing. Based on how my friend was treated today, he and I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND and refer RX Garage Doors, as well as use them ourselves when the time comes. Thank you so much MICHAEL for being such a wonderful and honest person. read more

Mike is truly the real deal. Not only is his knowledge and workmanship outstanding, his customer service skills are amazing!! Mike came out and replaced the springs on my garage door that had been there for almost 30 years. His price was way less than I had gotten for other estimates and he was quick to respond and showed up as promised. Several months later I called Mike as my door was sticking as it opened and asked if he could check it out. He stopped by a couple of days later and before even seeing it he said he knew what it was and went right to the problem. It had nothing to do with his prior installation, and was sticking to the weatherstripping whenever the temps got above 90 and it heated up. A couple sprays of a lubricant and I was good to go!! Plus, he gave me instructions of how to replace the weatherstripping myself when I had time available. What was even better he would not accept another payment, even though I knew it was a different problem!!! After the two times Mike has come out to our home, I can now call him my friend and I am so grateful that I was lucky enough to find him on Yelp!!! read more
