Tim Mencel, the owner, is very knowledgeable and very customer service oriented. We had to move the appointment around which could have been frustrating, however, he was a very fast communicator and very flexible during the scheduling process. He showed up right on time, got to work right away & had our issue fixed within two hours. Our RV air-conditioning unit needed a few parts which he had, and we are up and running again, with the air blowing super cold!! He sent pictures throughout the process and described the issues which helped us understand the problem and what he was doing to get fix it! It was really great that he had the parts on his truck! He noticed a couple of small things that would make our unit work better, and fixed those without charging us (BONUS) he also took the time to educate us about our A/C unit, and how to run it the most effectively, as well as provided an education for a few other things on our RV not related to the AC. Spoke to Jim and explained the situation, he offered to come by on him way home from current job. Jim is very knowledgeable and had the perfect solution in mind. We decided to completely remove the old Norcold piece of junk and replace it with a residential refrigerator. This is perfect for my situation as the 5th wheel setup as a retreat on our property with full hookups. Jim even knew the exact refrigerator to have me purchase and install. Jim came back on Monday morning and went to work. A few hours later the problem is solved even better than I could have hoped. This residential refrigerator has way more usable space in a much smaller footprint. I added a shelf unit to the gap from the old fridge and moved my nugget ice maker and air fryer. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick reply and their ability to help within days. And they worked on my trailer in my driveway. I didn't have to take it anywhere and drop it off. The owner Adam, clearly communicated his rates and provided a preliminary quote On the day of repairs, Adam arrived first, inspected the trailer, and ran out for parts. Shane arrived and got to work immediately. When Adam returned, he gave me a thorough tutorial on the important things to know and watch for the future. It was so detailed, I had to get my phone out to record it. Valuable information. Shane is a GREAT guy and spent the whole day diligently working. I was impressed by his easy demeanor, skill, and attention to detail. I will NOT hesitate to work with them again. It was a very pleasant experience. So, I went in there because they're the only shop that was open in Alpine, California. Bill the owner had advised me that to diagnose it alone is $115.00, then what ever the issue was.. they would go from there. About 45 minutes later, I was told that I needed to replace the glass window itself, it would have to be special order, and it would take a few days for it. First of all, I'm only in town for the weekend. How is that even possible, our resort will not valet it nor we can even park in the parking structure due to the window not closing... Just great! So, I spoke to the mechanic Chris, a very nice gentleman, who had explained everything in details. Also, he resolved this problem in the meantime. But, I would have to take care of it as soon as I get back home. I am forever GREATFUL for CHRIS, you are brought humanity back to my world. I thank you for your help. I would like to write up and share my personal experience working directly with Bob at Coachwerx…read morefor over 10 years. I've taken 3 of my vehicles to him over the years and received nothing but quality work, excellent communication, and amazing service every single time. In 2015 I took my black 2009 F150 to Bob for some dents in the door. This is when his shop was over in Lakeside/el cajon and he worked directly with my State Farm insurance, repaired it quickly and it looked brand new. He even fixed a few small dents in the rear fender that I didn't ask him to. More recently, last year (2025) I took my 5th wheel trailer to Bob, as the stickers on the front cap had been disintegrating and wouldn't come off, and they had ruined the paint. I asked him to remove the stickers and then repaint the front cap the original white color. His team did an excellent job, finishing the work quickly and it looked better than it did when brand new. Finally, I just recently (Jan 2026) took my 2016 F250 to Bob as I had accidentally backed into the hitch on my 5th wheel and put a dent in the tailgate. I brought it over for his team to look at, and they took the tailgate off and kept it to repair so I could keep my truck in the meantime. Within a week they had repaired it and asked me to come by so they could reinstall it and adjust everything. His team went above and beyond the already perfect repair to the metal and paint, and reassembled the handle, did some extra work to help me out with a tailgate soft close shock I had installed that had broken, and helped sort out some issues with my backup camera. In my experience working with Bob and Coachwerx for both vehicle and RV repair, as well as paying out of pocket and going through insurance, I have had nothing but great experiences and received excellent service. I would personally recommend this shop, and I'm happy to be a referral for anyone who is considering it.
