Been getting water there for quite a while. Thought I would have a couple of propane hoses made. Nice guy started work but brushed me off when I asked for an estimate. Figured it would be about the same as online prices of $50. for 10' hose. Well, 1 4' & 1 10' hose came to a ridiculous $140. with my little military discount. This was just a basic hose & attachment. There were signs posted everywhere about no refunds on custom hoses so I felt obligated to pay it. However the signs charging over $4.00 for a foot of hose were not posted. Emailed owner but no response. Make sure you get an upfront estimate on everything at this establishment. Won't be going there again. read more

Could be a good service stop but unfortunately not due to employee and lack of customer service. We did self dump which is handy with their hose in place and not having to get yours out or restow it. We are a camper van and price indicated was $7 plus $3 to flush, which we didn't need to do since we use our own fresh water to flush after dumping. Then we indicated we were military since a sign shows military discount. We should have paid less than $7 with the military discount but he charged $10. We wanted propane too, but the employee was not adept enough to get down and access our valve so we are going elsewhere to fill up. Never had an issue anywhere else. We were going to heed other reviews warnings on here and ioverlander about choosing the place a couple blocks up the road but they weren't open yet. read more

Quick and easy. Multiple lanes for the Dump station with hoses already attached so you don't have to get yours out of the storage area, then clean them. As you know, this takes time so eliminating this keeps the line moving if there is one. Propane has multiple lines and is away from the water and dump so if you just need propane, you'll be in and out. Fresh water and salt free water also have multiple stations to keep things moving. Despite the name which implies a NASCAR style experience I find the work flow to fill propane, then dump black/grey water and finally fill with fresh to be poorly organized. Also since this place is highly visible and on a main road, it gets a lot of business and is often quite busy, especially during the annual January RV show. So I go elsewhere to dump and fill. BUT, if you are only getting propane, The Pit Stop is a fine establishment and the folks working there do an excellent job of getting you through in short order. They are also quite friendly and it's easy to make the right turn out of the parking lot northbound on AZ 95 which is the direction I need to get back to the Hi Jolly or Plomosa Road BLM camping areas. So, go elsewhere for water fill and dumping (especially during the high season,) but come here for your propane. read more

I have been going to the RV Pitstop for over 5 years during their open season. The wife and I fell in love with Quartzsite so much we ended up buying a place here. With that said I am no stranger to this place. It is funny looking at the reviews of the Pitstop in the fact that people either love them or hate them. I can actually see why. I have had great service here and the very next time have had not the best service. It really is hit and miss however this season I have been in 3 times and the service has been OK....not great but OK. With that said I can see why they have 3 stars and that is also what I am giving them. Are they convenient? Yes they are! It really comes down to how big of a hurry I am in because they are always fast with the propane fills. read more

I've been going to pitstop four years. While their service is "convenient", several different employees have "conveniently" attempted to collect too much money for said services... The first two times it happened, it was only a matter of $1 for water in my small trailer...I'd tell them the size rig, be quoted a price - while I was looking at the prices on a sheet of paper taped to the wall inside the kiosk, which clearly stated a lower amount...the people argued with me and didn't seem to want to look at their own price sheet to determine what I ought be charged...and they were clearly quoting the price for a larger rig... A dollar isn't much, tho if I pay an extra dollar every time I go, it adds up...and if they overcharge every customer by a dollar - well, you can figure that out.... The third event was more extreme - resulting in this review... I pulled up, stated to the employee who asked, my rig was 26' (I was in a new to me rig), he stated $20...I asked how much for dump...$15 (was the answer)...I asked how much for water - $5 (was the answer).... I stated water ought be $4....the employee stated "well, you're at 30', ain't ya?"..... Duh - No!...you didn't listen to me...if you had your mind made up already about the size of my rig, why did you ask me and why did I waste my breath telling you?.. I ended up paying $14....he tried to over charge me by $6....my brain is too tired currently to figure out the percentage over - whatever it is - it's unacceptable...and I only knew he was quoting the wrong price because I'd physically stood at the kiosk and seen the sign on numerous occasions...i wonder how many people never go to the kiosk - only fork out the amount quoted and never know the difference... And what does the employee do with the extra cash - does the business get it or do the employees pocket it?... Bottom line, I may continue to get water and dump here - you betcha I'll be watching like a hawk, tho... Sad they can't be trusted... read more

Oh my gosh!!! This company is awesome - and I've never said that in a Yelp review. We were on a 2 mo trip from Virginia to California and back when we found this company in a search for dump stations. Finding drinkable water and a dump station with water to flush the tank was tricky in Arizona. This company saved the day for very reasonable prices. We also had a broken water heater that needed a quick fix. They recommended a place that was closing in 15 minutes, RV Lifestyles. We raced there with the camper in tow, my husband ran in, described the problem and they sold him exactly what we needed. Done! What a lucky find of both businesses and perfect timing! read more

We've had propane hoses made here and had portable tanks filled at two separate times. When using the first small bbq tank, we noticed that the knob had been left open. Thus, no propane. After filling and then connecting second tank later that week, we noticed it also had been left open. However, we caught it in time as all the propane hadn't had a chance to escape yet. We also had hoses and connections made. The first of connections were put in backwards. The second set leaked and we had to return to have them done properly. read more

Used them twice. Found the fat old guy on the cart to be rude and nasty. Service is ok if you just go with the flow. Dont expect the employees to explain anything to you if you are new to using their service, basically figure it out fast or they will get nasty. read more

They quit giving out doggy biscuits like they used to when you bought propane my dog is very disappointed. Now they are starting to charge you for using your debit card. That is a little bit too much for me when they start that. I've been a customer there for 17 years I fill approximately 30 to 40 bottles of propane every year. I'm looking for a new place to buy propane today. Needless to say I am not happy about having to pay to use my debit card that's supposed to be charged up to the business not the customer I realize that a lot of businesses are going to that but I also quit giving them my business and everybody else should too. read more

Quick service, multiple lanes for each of three services (propane, dump, fresh water). Prices vary slightly for different sized rigs, but costs are reasonable. Make sure to specify whether fresh (potable) water is needed ($6); it is a separate station from the dump. There is also a filtered water station, but I did use it. Very accessible off 95 in town. The Pit Stop offers a vital service for RV's. If you boondock on the BLM, they offer propane, a good dump station and really great tasting filtered well water. All at a good price. Extremely rude! There are 2 dump stations and this is the second time this month they told us we could not dump at the one that had water so we could use our saniflush. He wanted us to use the dump with no water and you have to drag buckets of water through your trailers. Last time he charged me double for "his inconvenience" and yes that is exactly what was said. If I were you go across the street this place makes you feel like you are not welcomed and my family will never be back there again!! read more

I wish this was some kind of franchise because these people had it all for the full time RVer passing through. Propane ? Sure get in this lane. Then it was off to drain and clean the tanks , I have a Sani-Flush system installed in my black tanks and need to flush it with water , the lane I was in did't have a hose to allow for this , so they pulled me into another line that did. After cleaning out the stinky slinky , it was over to fill the up with fresh water. All of this was done within about 20 minutes , I wish I could find more like them. read more

Very unfriendly people. Bought propane and wanted to use a debit card. When I went to pay, they said there was a $2 fee for using the card, although it is not posted anywhere except at the register (so you fill up and THEN you are told about the charge). The guy got snippy with me for parking near a station that was closed. Just an all around bad experience. Won't be going back there again! read more

Great place to fill propane bottles, don't know about the other services but the operators who fill bottles were very nice guys and with four fill stations, you don't have to wait like some of the other places around town. These guys are RVERS themselves so I feel their definite understanding of the situation. I don't bother going anywhere else when I'm in Quartzite. read more
