How many times do you get invited over to someone's house and not know what to bring? This store has it! They have cute novelty kitchen/home items as well as practical everyday items. We were looking for Christmas gifts for a few people that have everything but I'm pretty sure that one of them doesn't have a wine pour in the shape of a bird that sings (chirps) when you pour a glass of wine, so that happened! Currently, at the entrance they have a stand with hand sanitizer and masks! I love that they are taking things seriously. Fantastic store owned by a lovely couple with a great story!! The store owner, Randy, was kind and helpful and obviously enjoyed his job. Unfortunately, a week later, I opened one of my purchases to discover that it didn't work. Since I live almost 2 hours away from Manitou Springs, returning it to the store wasn't an option. Randy immediately offered to refund my money and didn't need me to return the defective merchandise. And then, Randy endeared himself to me forever by offering to send me a new item (that he personally checked to ensure it worked properly) and mail it to me for free. Next time I'm in Manitou Springs, I will definitely stop by again.

Dolls, masks, ponchos, skulls and seasonal coats. They have fair trade written all over them. Their website is also very friendly to use, with consistent updates on weather, opening times and new arrivals. When I was wondering around the store, I noticed these very beautiful Chinchero accessory bags are made from vintage "frazadas" -- heavy alpaca and sheep wool blankets used throughout Peru's sacred valley. The "upcycle-fashion" is incredibly eco-friendly for the environment and super easy to use. Durable too!! I bought a Frieda Kahlo poncho that was black and maroon. It is fairly long, so it is more of a winter poncho, than a summer one. I bought a nice alpaca sweater that was very flattering to my person. The staff are also from these countries and import their goods from Latin America, so you know you're getting the good things!! It's also very ethical and good to support.

I'm a sucker for all of the Mexican pottery and outdoor art that they sell, and I honestly find it to be a bit of a treasure hunt every time I visit. I just don't know what I'll find! The staff working is always super nice, and everything is always marked down. If you feel adventurous you can likely try to get the price lower as my mom often does as she barters with the sales folks. I usually just accept whatever discount they bestow upon me at checkout and count my blessings. This last trip we took home a pink flamingo bird house for our small collection, and also learned a tip from the staff working regarding preserving the metal outdoor artworks. When we walked in, we were not greeted; the young, brown haired millennial at the register just sat there with her phone in her hand. Obviously it was more important than the customers. Several people walked in and out while we were there and she did not look up once to say hello or do anything. One couple wanted to buy some items but when they walked up to the cashier, they still weren't spoken to and the girl never looked up so they put the items back they wanted tp purchase and walked out. We wanted to purchase some items too - I really liked the cute succulent/cacti soap but didn't feel like dealing with the young lady at the register. We walked out too and were not given any type of greeting as we left like all the other stores did that we walked in to that day. I really hope they employee better employees that don't stay on their phones all day or else they will continue to lose business like they are.

However, if you're looking to get something that won't break the bank, this is your jam. They sold earrings, scarves, hair clips, tank tops, yoga pants, purses, socks, and more. Everything was $10 or less. There are plenty of boutiques that have higher quality goods at higher prices. I am currently broke so I am very happy to have this option. I thought they had a great selection of earrings. I bought two cute pairs at $5 each. Also found another pair on the sale rack for only $1! Friendly service.
