A jam packed but navigable artist co-op and gallery. Tons of locally produced art in every medium is available for fair prices. I purchased a matted photo of scenic Colorado, a small pen and ink mandala and a ceramic pet food bowl for $50. Very reasonable and as a tourist, it is a great way to support the people that help to keep Manitou Springs a unique place to visit. So, get out of the souvenir shops and buy locally produced art people!

This is Gallery in Manitou Springs is the real deal. Local artists, innovation and creation. The work will move your soul. While her I spoke with Caron O'Neil, a jewelry artist and found art sculptor. Her work is embodied with true intentions meant to bring energy to your space. What a joy to find this space.

This place is an impressive display of multiple artists from around the Colorado area. Great amount of pottery, all kinds from different artists with different tastes. You will totally find something in the pottery section that you love. They also have hand done glass ceramic pieces, a little on the pricey end but a complete show stopper. People would stop in awe if you had one of these pieces in your house or apartment. Beautiful water colors as well photographs for purchase. Unique knic knacs all hand made. My favorite, the jewelery section. At least 20 different artists showing earrings, bracelets, pins, and necklaces. Keep in mind that a lot of work goes into these items so the prices reflect that. There are a lot items in the lower price range that really caught my eye, and I will admit I walked out of the store with them, after paying of coarse. What got my attention was a whole display to an artist that did chain mail type work something Sam (the boyfriend) appreciates and does by hand as well. I was immediately intrigued and took a picture to show the intricate work. I walked away with two pairs of earrings and a pin. Mom ended up getting an unique string of beads that made her eyes sparkle. The woman working behind the counter was very knowledgeable and knew quite a bit about the local artists and what they did for a living and how they got into pottery or jewelry. I really enjoyed hearing the stories behind their work. This place is 90 minutes out of the way for me and I would make the trip to come back here and enjoy the ever changing items for purchase.

Beautiful handcrafted wares by local artisans.

This place is always such a delight to window shop at! I love seeing all the local artists…read morerepresented and always find unique pottery and paintings that would look lovely in anyone's home. I do tend to think the prices are a bit steep here, but not out of the norm for an art gallery. I look forward to my next visit!

BEWARE of the dog that is in this shop!!!! I went into this store with my husband and 3 year old…read more When walking around we walked past the dog and the dog snapped at my daughter trying to bite her hand. The owner of the dog (and possibly the the store) asked what happened, and I told her. She didn't believe me so she asked my husband if that's what happened. She then told us to get out and shut the door. No apologies, remorse, concern, anything. We left and two ladies followed us out saying they saw what happened and that they were so sorry. I then handed my crying daughter over to my husband and went back in and told the lady she was rude, to not believe me, my daughter deserves an apology and the dog shouldn't be in the store. The lady told me that people walking by tell her the dog snap and shows teeth to them when trying to come in and she never sees it, nor believed it. I was like EXCUSE ME?! People have complained about this before and you KEEP bringing your dog to work?! That's completely unfair to the dog and to innocent people. This is a warning because the dog is going to end up biting someone!

From delicious ice cream and fresh homemade fudge to contemporary Native American jewelry and souvenirs. Looking for something to remember your vacation to Manitou Springs? The Manitou Outpost has hundreds of gift options. They have T-shirts of all sizes, collectible souvenirs, hats, pocketknives, and even postcards. There is an accessible restroom in the very back of the store, but be sure to ask the staff for permission. It's only etiquette to do so. I purchased a very nice summer poncho with long sleeves that is made out of the softest material!! The colors are black with a few stripes in the sleeves. It was one size fits most. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and aren't dismissive, respectively. They're here to answer all your questions. They have Locally sourced ice cream, Homemade fudge and Something for everyone. Looking to read on some history about Manitou Outpost? The origins of the Outpost date back to the 1800s where a stock stable was operated. Unfortunately, the building burned down but the Navajo Geyser Pavilion Cafeteria soon rose from the ashes in 1913. Despite the restaurant being successful, the Hiawatha Tours and Navajo Garage would soon take over the building. The Barker Manufacturing Company would be the next business to move in. The company was known for its work with leather as well as selling western style clothing. Finally, in 2003 the Barker Manufacturing Company would be molded into the Outpost as it is today.

The store has three levels and large beach windows on both ends, only one side allows entrance. I had been looking for a Colorado enamel pin to add to my collection and with so much merchandise, this particular gift shop caught my eye. I was greeted by a nice woman when I entered. She was at the ice cream station that is located on the lowest level of the shop. She was friendly! The store has a lot to offer! They have a large variety of merchandise. There is coffee, birthstones, t-shirts, key chains, stuffed animals, post cards, etc. I found my enamel pin which was at the second level and I didn't bother looking at the third. From what I recall the third level had more house decor, the other two had souvenirs and smaller gifts. The store is well organized. For the amount of items they sell, they utilize their space very well. There is plenty of walking space and if there were to be a crowd, it wouldn't be a problem at all. I purchased my Colorado enamel pin which was $3 or so. It was simple and I'll have it with me forever! My shopping experience went very well and I went to three other gift shops, this one was the best one!
