My boy Bentley is just obsessed with Ruths and would live there if I let him. They take such amazing care of all the pups and are very cautious about the amount of dogs they keep at once for safety reasons and although it means they book up quickly, I am thankful that they pride safety over too many dogs. He has the tendency to be a little anxious but when we get to Ruths he just goes mental with excitement and he is always so tired on pick up. I know they take amazing care of my boy and I know I can trust them to keep all the dogs safe, exercised and happy. Cannot say enough fantastic things about this place! read more

We made a reservation for our beloved dog Ollie over New Years weekend as our AirBnB did not allow animals. The reservation process was very easy and the owners were so accommodating and flexible with our drop off time (with border traffic we ended up arriving around 9p). Our dog absolutely had a blast as he came bounding out with Jeff when we came to retrieve him. Dogs are crated overnight, which wasn't a big deal for us but I was afraid Ollie may have issues since he hasn't been crated since he was a puppy. No issues were reported so I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem with other dogs. We would certainly use Ruth's Pet Hotel again in the future! read more

We have been taking our dogs to Ruth's for three years. They care for our dogs as if they were their own. They took extra special care of our older dog. What I especially like is that they only take a certain number of dogs at a time. I would recommend Ruth's to anyone who care about how their dogs are treated. read more

This place might be good for older dogs maybe, but I took my 3 months old puppy here and I regret it so much. Before making a reservation I called and asked if I could go see the place, to know where my dog was going to be, they said yes, so I went, but they didn't let me go inside, they didn't want to show me where they keep the dogs, we just talked at the door. I needed someone to look after my puppy for a day so I took him there, huge mistake. They just kept him in a crate the whole day, no walk, no food. I had provided a lot of good food, with real pork in it, and lots so he could eat as much as he wanted. They told me he didn't want to eat (my dog not wanting pork...weird) so when I picked him up I was expecting the food back, nothing, I figure they gave it to other dogs I don't know, it was a lot. Then they said he peed inside the crate, he had never done that, and never did afterwards, so the only reason he would have to pee in the crate is because no one took him outside for a pee. In the evening my dog was starving and full of energy, having been all day long in a cage, so then late at night I had to take him for a walk. Then they have this terrible system, if they pick up and drop off the dog there's a two hour window, so basically they come anytime they want, and they wanted me to give them the key to my house, I don't even know who these people are I'm not gonna give you the key! so then I dropped him off and she warned me to be right on time, how could I dare be 5 minutes early or late?! and they charge an extra $10 the first time just because, no reason whatsoever. I will never recommend this place, there are other options in the area. Never take a puppy there, they kept mine in a cage the whole day, without food, not being able to go for a pee, I hope at least they provided him with water. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I must agree with the review below: after leaving my dog with Ruth's Pet Hotel, I now have significant concerns regarding animal well-being while in their care. (1) When I dropped my dog off, I asked if I could see where the dogs stay. They said no. They added that there were 20 dogs inside they didn't want to disturb. Obviously, I was first concerned that I couldn't see the conditions where my dog would stay. Second, I was concerned that no one was supervising the 20 dogs. It is not only common practice, but a basic necessity to always have someone supervising a large groups of dogs. (2) I told them that my dog gets anxiety in crates and to please not put her in a crate. They put her in a crate anyway and when they dropped her off after the stay, her nose was cut up and bleeding from hitting it on a crate. (3) I asked them to please make sure my senior dog (11 years old) got plenty of rest and to make sure she had a place to lie down. When they dropped her off after the stay, they said they let her run constantly with the young dogs. As a result, she had a severe limp and could barely walk. I have significant concerns regarding animal well-being while in the care of Ruth's Pet Hotel. I cannot caution you enough - do not go here. read more

Zero stars. Very disorganized and short staffed. They were extremely rude when we dropped our dog off a few minutes late and were just as rude when we showed up on time to pick our pup up. When we went to pass our dog over with her food they said she probably wouldn't get her food that day which was a massive red flag. When we picked our pup up she was terrified, extremely thirsty and shaken up by the whole experience. Having one staff to 20-30 dogs is not manageable. I am highly concerned about the well-being of the animals that go here regularly and for this I do not recommend this organization. read more

We must rave about Ruth's Pet Hotel! The hotel we stayed at was in Pemberton so Ruth's was conveniently located for us. We just did the daytime pet sitting while we skiied at Whistler. The owners are very nice people who give the dog full access to their home and fenced yards. There were lots of dogs there and the rates were low. read more

My husband and I left our dog here for a week while we went away. They were absolutely wonderful!! From sending us pictures on the first day to show us how our dog was settling in to coming back to a very happy dog who obviously spent a great week, everything about Ruth's Pet Hotel was fantastic. Having tried several dog daycares and pet boarding facilities in the lower mainland and sea to sky area, I can safely say that Ruth's is by far the best value and provides the best environment for our dog Russell. The outdoor facilities are unparalelled anywhere else to my knowledge and allow our guy to excercise, play and roam at his leisure. Whenever we pull up to drop him off he gets so excited we can barely contain him, and he's happy and tired when we pick him up at the end of the day. For a time we used their drop off and pick up service as well on a weekly basis and it was an incredible value to have our dog looked after all day and he always returned tired and happy. We just picked our dog up after a 4 day stay and he was happy and healthy and we enjoyed the pictures of him posted on their facebook site while we were away. Did I mention how friendly the owners are? I only wish that I still lived in pemberton and could take advantage of their services on a more regular basis. read more

Ruth's Pet Hotel is Joy's second home. From the moment I drive up to Ruth's, Joy is so excited: wagging her tail and whining to be let out, and then she takes off into their fine care without a second look back. I have used Ruth's for full-time care and also, for boarding. I know Joy is very well looked after and exhausted when she returns home from so much playing. She always returns to me clean and well groomed. Ruth and Jeff and their dog care-givers love the animals and treat them all as their own. You never have to worry leaving your dog in their capable hands. I love their website because you can instantly book daycare or boarding. In addition, whenever you send Ruth or Jeff and email, you get a response right away. I highly, highly recommend them. read more
